"I MUST BUILD A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD WHO STRENGTHENS ME TO INVOLVE."

POWER FOR INVOLVEMENT

DR. ED M. LAURENA

With rejoicing, I praise God for giving us another fresh new year to live and serve Him! Happy new year to all of you! I thank God for all the victories that He had bestowed us last year. I am so grateful for the members who faithfully served and labored for God. Truly, I praise the Lord for people like you, who in the midst of testing and hardships, have decided to use God’s Word as your strength to stand up and still be victorious for God. As God has given us another year, I am so excited of our new theme “Resolved to Involve” which is anchored upon the book of Nehemiah. As one team, Nehemiah and his company decided to involve themselves in rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem. Though there were critics and discouragements, they finished the wall with God’s help. I do believe that if all members of our church will be determined to involve this year in the best they can, we can accomplish greater things for God. We have our Pastors and Workers’ Conference and Anniversary month coming up with many more events which provide each one opportunities to involve. I challenge you, dear members of this church; let us be united to have a single decision to resolve to involve. My family and I love you in the Lord! Let us have a Spirit-filled 2012!

Sunday School Outline Resolved to Involve in 2012 (Introduction for the Yearly Theme) Nehemiah 4:1-23 I. The power for involvement comes from being always plugged in the energy of prayer. A. Nehemiah in his time knew the power that comes from an answered prayer. B. Believers in our time must know the power that comes from an answered prayer. II. The power for involvement comes from being adamantly (steadfastly) pulled into the energy of the preserved word of the living God. A. God’s counsel will stand firm amidst pressures and persecutions. B. God’s counsel must be the basis of the faith of God’s people for today. III. The power for involvement comes from being adequately prepared through the energy of a personal close relationship with God. A. Believers who plan to involve must prepare to have a close relationship with God. B. Believers who have power with God have power with men.

10 New Year’s from Resolutions the wisest man who ever lived 1. Let Not Mercy and Truth Forsake Thee (Proverbs 3:3–4) 2. Trust in the Lord with All Thine Heart (Proverbs 3:5–6) 3. Search Diligently for Wisdom (Proverbs 3:13–24) 7. Have No Fear (Proverbs 3:25–26) 8. Do Not Withhold Good from Those That Deserve It (Proverbs 3:27-28) 9. Do Not Harm Your Neighbor (Proverbs 3:29–30) 10. Do Not Envy or Follow Wicked People (Proverbs 3:31–32)

Another year is dawning; dear Father, let it be, In working or in waiting, another year with Thee. Another year of progress, another year of praise, Another year of proving Thy presence all the days. Another year of service, of witness for Thy love; Another year of training for holier work above. Another year is dawning; dear Father, let it be, on earth, or else in heaven, another year for Thee.

Those that be planted in the house of the LORD

shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring

forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

PSALM 92:13-14

The following statistics on church attendance is taken by the Statistical Abstract of the United States in May 1994. Americans who claim membership in a congregation: 69% Percent who attend worship services in a given week: 40% These figures even get lower & lower for the past 16 years. JUST THINK ABOUT IT! If this happened to America, a nation that was founded on God's Word, it is absolutely not impossible for that to happen here in the Philippines, specially among fundamental Baptist churches. Let us always be reminded of what the Bible says in Hebrews 10:25, "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Brethren, we should not allow empty pews in our church services. We should fill them up by bringing visitors and by being consistent in our church attendance.
