CBBC Updates

B

ack to Basic is our slogan in Christian Bible Baptist Church (CBBC-SPL) for this year 2009! We in CBBC entered this year with the hopeful enthusiasm of reviewing the Fundamental Basics of our Christian Life which include Bible reading, prayer, soulwinning, sacrificial giving and service for God. We kicked-off with another busy year filled with activities and church programs that are geared toward fulfilling the Great Commission, edifying of the church, and strengthening of individual members. A Sunday School Department for all age levels from bed babies to adults with the average attendance of 3,000 every Sunday Morning, the Christian Bible Baptist Academy with 123 enrolled students from Preschool to High School, the Baptist Heritage Bible College with 161 students, the School for the Deaf with 88 special students, and Loving Hands Ministries Orphanage with its Feeding Program are some key ministries to mention. For a fresh start, we emphasized the Basics of Soulwinning through a three-day Soulwinning Revival last January 12-14. We had visitors from different Churches, particularly from daughter Churches of CBBC. Copies of Soulwinning Manual and Christian Music CDs were given to pastors and to delegates with the most number of first time visitors during that three-day revival. The auditorium, especially at night and during the last day, was jam packed with pastors, members, first time visitors, and delegates from different churches. Stay-in delegates immediately applied what they learned through the area soulwinning held every afternoon. Everybody was excited during the whole hectic month of February! We held our 30th Church Anniversary through a one-month-long celebration • 30th Church Anniversary within four Sundays, February 1, 8, 15 & 22. With 34 areas working to reach the goal of 20,000 first time visitors, we praise God for blessing us with 20,166 guests for all the Sundays of February. The busy hive of CBBC-SPL is a picture of Acts 5:42. “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”

Our Bible College will culminate its school year with the Commencement Exercises that will be held during the National Baptist Youth Congress (NBYC) Week. It will be a great opportunity to expose the youth delegates to our Bible College Program. NBYC, now on its 10 th year has witnessed bended-knees and tear-drenched-altar of commitments and surrendered lives for full-time service. Yearly, our Bible college enrolment grows, a large percentage of which claims to have heard God’s call during the life-changing challenges at NBYC. Along with this, the construction of our extension building for our main auditorium is still on-going with the dream of a Baptist City slowly but surely taking shape. As long as we stay on the Basics of God’s Word, our vision will one day be a reality. Praise be to God Almighty who gave us a CBBC!
