"I MUST BE CONSISTENT IN MY INVOLVEMENT EVEN IN TOUGH TIMES."

PERSEVERANCE FOR INVOLVEMENT

Today marks the beginning of the second half of the year, and what we have accomplished as an individual or as a church on the first half of the year is only by the grace of God. Inside this issue, see how God has blessed our efforts and accomplishments through the church, and let it encourage us to involve and do more for His glory! Let God develop more love and passion in us and in our families to serve Him while He is giving us a chance. This past week, God gave me and my wife the opportunity to go to my hometown in Bicol to attend a funeral service of one of my relatives. Besides wanting to be a comfort and a blessing, it is a blessing for me to see many people accepting Christ as their personal Saviour, including some of my former classmates. It was indeed refreshing to see that my hometown and the neighboring towns are now more open for the Gospel. Please pray that God will use our church to plant soulwinning Baptist Churches in that area as well. While we support churches and plant more churches in the other parts of our country and the world, let us do our part in reaching and laboring for God through our local church. Let God work in our hearts today and every time we come to church to worship Him. Have a blessed Sunday!

Involve in our Area Soulwinning! With half of the year behind us, we are called and reminded of our main responsibility as children of God to win souls or lead people to accept Christ as their Saviour. Opportunities are always around us, whether at work, at school, in a public vehicle or just across our neighborhood. You can do it anytime of the day. Learn to win souls. With a passion for souls, a handful of gospel tracts and a Bible in your hand, you are all set. You may even start by just bringing somebody as a visitor to church. God allowed you to be a part of our church to be a help in the propagation of the Gospel. Don’t miss this great privilege! Join your area soulwinning every Thursday. Meanwhile, you can also be a part of the Saturday-visitation team that does soulwinning, follow-ups, extension

classes in your area. It starts with a devotion right here at the church at 7:30am. At present, we have 36 areas reaching as far as Las Piñas, GMA, Cavite, Canlubang, and 18 Gospel Teams for our Bible students. “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” (1 Corinthians 1:10) True ministry is always a team effort. Paul was emphasizing that no one person should do everything. Paul’s gift was preaching, and that’s what he did. Christian ministry should be a team effort; no preacher or teacher is a complete link between God and people, and no individual can do all that the apostles did. We must be content with the contribution God has given us to make, and carry it out wholeheartedly. True ministry centers on God’s message. Some speakers use impressive words, but they are weak on content. Paul stressed solid content and practical help for his listeners. He wanted them to be impressed with his message, not just his style (1 Corinthians 2:1-5). You don’t need to be a great speaker with a large vocabulary to share the gospel effectively. The persuasive power is in the story, not the storyteller. Paul was not against those who carefully prepare what they say (1 Corinthians 2:6), but against those who try to impress others with their own knowledge or speaking ability. “To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” (1 Corinthians 9:22)

True ministry considers the needs of others. Paul gives several important principles for ministry: (1) find common ground with those you contact; (2) avoid a knowit-all attitude; (3) make others feel accepted; (4) be sensitive to their needs and concerns; and (5) look for opportunities to tell them about Christ. These principles are just as valid for us as they were for Paul. “Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also. And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.” (Galatians 2:1-2) True ministry includes preparation and feedback. After his conversion, Paul spent many years preparing for the ministry to which God had called him. This preparation period included time alone with God (Galatians 1:16-17), as well as time conferring with other Christians. Often new Christians, in their zeal, want to begin a full-time ministry without investing the necessary time studying the Bible and learning from qualified teachers. We need not wait to share Christ with our friends, but we may need more preparation before embarking on a special ministry. While we wait for God’s timing, we should continue to study, learn, and grow.
