Have you ever wondered why the Canadian geese fly only in the V formation? For years specialists in aerodynamics wondered the same thing. Two engineers calibrated in a wind tunnel what happens in such a V formation. Each goose, in flapping its wings, creates an upward lift for the goose that follows. When all the geese do their part in the V formation, the whole flock has a 71 percent greater flying range than if each bird flew alone. Each depends upon the other to get to its destination. Something else— When a goose begins to lag behind, the others “honk” it back into place. Now, let us learn from God’s animal creation. The church needs to fly in a spiritual V formation, “honking” one another into steadfastness. “...let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works” (Hebrews 10:24).

POWER FOR INVOLVEMENT
Flying Together
Sunday School Outline The Power of Personal Church Life Nehemiah 13:9-14 / Hebrews 10:25 I. A clean life is essential (necessary) to enjoy Church life. A. Sin and sinful living are the stumbling blocks to a blessed Church life. B. Separation and sanctification are the solutions for a blessed Church life. II. A caring life is eminent (important) to enliven Church life. A. Care must be given to the work of Christ. B. Care must be given to the workers of Christ. III. A committed life is expedient (beneficial) to an efficient Church life. A. The Lord’s day must be of a great value to a worshipping child of God. B. The Lord’s day must be the victory time for each child of God. IV. A consecrated life is encouraging to an effective Church life. A. God’s heritage must start in the home of every believer in Christ. B. God’s heritage in the Church must continue in the home.
An Interview with a Tree We ask the leaf, “Are you complete in yourself?” The leaf answers, “No, my life is in the branches.” We ask the branch, and the branch answers, “No, my life is in the trunk.” We ask the trunk, and it answers, “No, my life is in the root.” We ask the root, and it answers, “No, my life is in the trunk and the branches and the leaves. Keep the branches stripped of leaves and I shall die.” So it is with the church. Nothing is completely and merely individual. "From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love." (Ephesians 4:16)
Who Flew the Kite? “I did,” said the sticks. “I did,” said the paper. “I did,” said the boy. “No, I did,” said the wind. But they all flew the kite together. If the sticks had broken, the tail caught in a tree, the paper torn or the wind has lulled, the kite would have come down. Each had a part to play. The application is inescapable. We each have a work to do. If the work of the Lord is to be a success, then all parts must be played by every member of the church. We have the work of visiting, giving, preaching, and countless other jobs to do to make the church and its work successful. We must all work together and each does what he can to help. It is a matter of teamwork (1 Corinthians 3:6–9).

CHURCH QUOTES Can a person be a Christian without joining the church? Yes, but it is like a soldier without an army; a student who will not attend school, a salesman without a customer, a sailor without a ship, a bee without a hive, an author without a reader, or a baseball player without a team. These situations might exist, but they would not be very satisfactory. The church was not designed to be a reservoir, ever-receiving and retaining for itself God’s spiritual blessings, but rather a conduit, conveying them on and out to others everywhere. God fully expects the church of Jesus Christ to prove itself a miraculous group in the very midst of a hostile world. Christians of necessity must be in contact with the world but in being and spirit ought to be separated from the world—and as such, we should be the most amazing people in the world. We do not want, as the newspapers say, a church that will move with the world. We want a church that will move the world. When you go to church, you should actively seek something. You must not go like an empty basket, waiting passively to be filled.

KAISA KA BA SA GAWAIN NG DIYOS? Beata Agustin

Dead churches see no need for change! It strongly supports world missions. Dead churches keep the money at home! It is full of regular, cheerful givers. Dead churches are full of grudging tippers! It moves ahead on prayer and faith. Dead churches work only on sight!
ALIV E It outgrows its Sunday School facilities. Dead churches have room to spare! It welcomes all classes of people. Dead churches stick to their own kind! Its members read their Bibles and bring them to church. Dead churches' members seldom do! Its members enthusiastically support the ministries. Dead churches have no ministries--only functions! Its members look for someone they can help. Dead churches' members just complain. Its members reach out to share their faith in Christ. Dead churches' members don't have enough to share!
10 Tips on Going to Church 1. Be on time. Arriving late communicates this is not important. "Redeeming the time, because the days are evil." (Ephesians 5:16)
6. Say “Amen.” This means, “I agree.” It is good for others in attendance (especially your own family) to know you agree with the Bible and your pastor even when it is convicting.
2. Bring your Bible. How do we expect to grow without a copy of God’s Word for us to examine as the preacher preaches the Bible.
7. Give. God loves a cheerful giver and so does the pastor. We must be obedient in our giving and investing in eternity. Our heart follows our treasure.
3. Dress up. Church is the one of the most important places we go all week and our dress should reflect that sentiment.
8. Go to the altar. Not much time should stand between trips down an aisle to an old fashioned altar. We can make decisions from anywhere, but the ones that really mean it go to the altar.
4. Bring your whole family. If you have family living with you, do all you can to bring them with you to church. They will benefit from it just as much as you do.
9. Sit together as a family. Nothing communicates the importance of church to your children than all sitting together as a family.
5. Shake your pastor’s hand. Do not wait for him to seek you out. Go out of your way to shake your pastor’s hand and encourage him.
10. Go faithfully. Church is so important. Make a goal not to miss one service a week, a month, a year. You will be amazed at how long you can go without missing a service if you work at it and make it a matter of prayer.
