PLATAFORMA FLOTANTE MULTIPROPÓSITO QUE PUEDE SOPORTAR TURBINAS GENERADORAS DE ENERGÍA DE 3 FUENTES DIFERENTES: VIENTO Y/O OLAS Y/O MAREAS, AUMENTANDO EFICIENCIAS Y REDUCIENDO COSTES DE LAS ACTUALES
MULTIPURPOSE FLOATING PLATFORM THAT CAN SUPPORT POWER GENERATING TURBINES FROM 3 DIFFERENT SOURCES: WIND AND/OR WAVES AND/OR TIDES, INCREASING EFFICIENCIES AND REDUCING COSTS OF CURRENT PLATFORMS
FIROVI, S.A. es cotitular de una innovadora plataforma flotante offshore (patente española del primer diseño concedida en 2018, EPO del nuevo diseño ya presentada y a la espera de adjudicación de examen de novedad en H2 2021) que tiene como objetivo aumentar la eficiencia y reducir sustancialmente los costes de las actuales plataformas, así como facilitar su implementación y mantenimiento. Algunas de sus otras características son que la plataforma puede soportar turbinas generadoras de energía de 3 fuentes diferentes: viento y/o de las olas y/o de las mareas, que es plug & play y que tiene también la posibilidad de ser 4.0. Si se compara con las plataformas tipo spar y semi-sumergibles, se estima una importante reducción de costes, incluyendo ingeniería, fabricación y operación y mantenimiento, a la vez que un mayor rendimiento al ser multipropósito. La plataforma se encuentra en TRL 4, pues ha sido probada con manifiesto éxito en el canal del Ministerio de Defensa español (CEHIPAR), donde se confirmó su sobresaliente rendimiento y que incluso resiste con éxito mar “montañosa” (olas de ~ 15 metros, correspondiente a altura significativa de 7.5m, condiciones del Atlántico Norte OTAN). FIROVI, S.A., en su condición de cotitular de la referida patente, pero, sobre todo, como licenciataria en exclusiva de la misma – sin límites geográficos ni de tiempo –, ha recibido las primeras expresiones de interés de entidades con foco en la economía azul y en energías renovables. La compañía abre en estos momentos un periodo de conversaciones con actores del sector con interés en tecnologías innovadoras y competitivas, que superen el estado del arte, tendentes a una colaboración estable que eventualmente podría abarcar desde la ingeniería hasta la construcción y financiación de un prototipo 1:1, y su posterior comercialización a nivel internacional.
FIROVI, S.A. is co-owner of an innovative offshore floating platform (Spanish patent of the first design granted in 2018, EPO of the new design already submitted and awaiting the award of examination of novelty in H2 2021), that aims to increase the efficiency and substantially reduce the costs of the current platforms, as well as to facilitate its implementation and maintenance. Some of its other characteristics are that the platform can support power generating turbines from 3 different sources: wind and/or waves and/or tides, that it is plug & play and that it also has the possibility of being 4.0. If compared with the spar and semi-submersible platforms, a significant cost reduction is estimated, including engineering, manufacturing and O&M, as well as a higher performance thanks to its multipurpose nature. The platform is currently in TRL 4, as it has been tested with manifest success in the channel of the Spanish Ministry of Defence (CEHIPAR), where its outstanding performance was confirmed and that it even successfully resists “mountainous” seas (waves of ~15m, corresponding to significant height of 7.5m, NATO North Atlantic conditions). FIROVI, S.A., as co-owner of the aforementioned patent but, moreover, as its exclusive licensee - without geographical or time limits -, has received the first expressions of interest from entities focused on the blue economy and in renewable energies. The company is currently opening a period of conversations with players in the sector interested in innovative and competitive technologies that exceed the state-of-the-art, with views to establishing a stable collaboration that could eventually range from engineering to the construction and financing of a 1:1 prototype, and its subsequent international commercialisation. 34
