Un torneo altamente competitivo

res clubes, Rosario Central, San Lorenzo y Boca, a la postre el campeón, batallaron por el título hasta el final. Tres instituciones definieron la permanencia en la fecha 30. Y todos los equipos pelearon por distintos objetivos hasta el último aliento, gracias a que las Liguillas Pre-Libertadores y Pre-Sudamericana abrieron las puertas a nuevos estímulos. A pesar de que en un principio cosechó algunas dudas, el Torneo de 30 equipos de Primera División terminó revelándose como altamente competitivo. Durante la etapa de organización de un certamen, no hay garantías en cuanto a si resultará o no atractivo, es a prueba y error. Pero el Torneo Julio Grondona despertó muchas emociones y concitó la atención de los simpatizantes de cada uno de los clubes durante todo el desarrollo del campeonato. De principio a fin y en cada rincón de la tabla de posiciones, con la adrenalina digna de lo que representa el espíritu competitivo de nuestro fútbol.

A highly competitive tournament

hree clubs, Rosario Central, San Lorenzo and Boca, the eventual champion, fought for the title until the very end. Three teams went down to the wire in the fight to avoid relegation. And every other club had something to play for until the last breath, thanks to the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana playoffs, which brought new challenges. Despite a start which generated a few doubts, the 30-team First Division tournament, ended up looking highly competitive. During the organization phase of a tournament, there are no guarantees regarding how attractive it would end up being. It’s test and error. But the Julio Grondona tournament was full of excitement and got the attention of fans of every club throughout the entire competition. From start to finish and across the league standings, with the adrenaline that represents the competitive nature of our football.

ste logro fue fruto del trabajo, de entender que las vanidades y los egos tienen que quedar afuera y que adentro somos un equipo. El plantel mostró carácter en todo momento y así se hizo fuerte, supo dar la cara en muchas situaciones difíciles y defendió los colores como había que hacerlo. En este club es inevitable convivir con las críticas y los elogios, y la obligación no es otra que ganar títulos, porque acá se juega por la gloria, por darle una alegría a la gente. Y este grupo de jugadores se animó a jugar y ahora merece disfrutar lo cosechado. En un campeonato largo, fuimos los mejores de principio a fin.

his achievement is the result of hard work and understanding we are a team and vanity and big egos need to stay out of the dressing room. The squad showed a lot of character at all times and grew stronger, they knew how to face a lot of difficult situations and they defended the club’s colours the way they had to. It’s inevitable to coexist with hard criticism and easy praises. There’s an obligation to win titles, because here you play for glory and to give joy to the fans. And these players were brave to play and they deserve to enjoy their achievements. In a long tournament, we were the best from start to finish.

ran parte del secreto de este éxito fue el sacrificio y la humildad que tuvo el plantel en cada momento, sabiendo de su potencial y nunca renunciando a jugar igual en todas las canchas. El equipo estaba convencido de lo que buscaba y se fue superando día a día, a tal punto que al final ya iba solo: terminó jugando de memoria. La única meta de Atlético era el título y se logró con creces, superando récords históricos del club y demostrando que, con buen fútbol, a la larga los resultados llegan. Haber conseguido como capitán el ascenso de 2009 y repetirlo ahora como técnico me llena de orgullo, sobre todo porque en ambos casos se dudó de nuestra capacidad, y el mejor desafío es realizar las cosas cuando muchos creen que no podés.

big part of the secret for this success was the sacrifice and the humbleness this squad had at all times, knowing their potential and never quitting on the idea to play the same brand of football everywhere we played. The team were convinced of what they were looking for and they became better each day, to a point where they were almost on automatic: they ended up playing by heart. The only goal for Atlético was the title and we managed that with ease, beating historical records for the club, and showing that with good football, in the end, results will come. To have been promoted as captain of the club in 2009 and to repeat it now as a manager, it’s something that fills me with pride. Especially because in both cases, there were doubts about our ability and the best challenge is to do things when many think you can’t.

PRIMERA B brown de adrogué

l último campeón del año se hizo desear hasta el suspiro del final, ese instante mágico en el que Juan Manuel García, ya sobre la chicharra, encontró la red y escribió su nombre en la historia de Brown de Adrogué, el club que de la mano de Vicó y con diez jugadores que también consiguieron el ascenso en la 2012/13, ahora vuelve a subirse al segundo escalón de nuestro fútbol.

as primeras sensaciones por ganar el campeonato, con el agregado de que fue con un gol en el último minuto, son difíciles de explicar. Mi cabeza estaba a mil, pensando en todo, es indescriptible. Pero si hay algo que rescato de ese momento es la alegría y el recuerdo de mi hijo, quien acompañó al grupo en estas 42 fechas. La felicidad es inmensa y encuentra sustento en el armado meticuloso de un equipo de trabajo fiel y dispuesto. Una identidad. ¿Lo que viene? En lo personal, mi prioridad siempre es Brown. En lo grupal, expectativas de forjar un colchón de puntos que permitan la permanencia en la B Nacional.

he first feelings after winning the league, with the added factor of a goal scored in the last minute, are hard to explain. My head was running wild, thinking about everything. It’s indescribable. But if there is something I point out particularly is the joy I feel and the memory of my son, who was with us along these 42 matches. My happiness is huge and I trace it back to the meticulous job of a coaching staff that’s loyal and always ready. We found an identity. What’s next? Personally, my priority is always Brown de Adrogué. As a group, we hope to collect a good number of points to be able to stay in B Nacional.

e inicio vacilante a campeón sin peros, San Telmo robusteció su camino triunfal yendo de atrás hacia adelante. Mantuvo el cero en 21 de los 38 partidos y cerró el torneo con un invicto de 14 fechas, además de que hace 26 encuentros que no cae en Isla Maciel. Allí, por primera vez, el Candombero pudo rubricar un ascenso. Y fue para pegar el salto luego de dos años en la C.

They kept a clean sheet in 21 of their 38 matches and they finished with a run of 14 games undefeated, to go with 26 matches without defeat playing at home in the Isla Maciel. It was there, for the first time, that the Candombero were able to seal promotion to escape from two years in Primera C.

ste campeonato empezó bajo un marco irregular para el equipo, pero con el correr de las fechas fue mutando hacia un fútbol constante. Creo que ahí estuvo la clave del éxito, en la inteligencia grupal para enderezar un camino complejo como es el que plantea la Primera C. Como si fuera poco, San Telmo hizo historia, porque logró dar la vuelta en su cancha por primera vez en 111 años de vida. Estamos felices por eso, y con la sensación de haber cumplido una tarea enriquecida por el trabajo de nuestros jugadores y el cuerpo técnico. La base de este conjunto humano es de calidad como para encarar la categoría siguiente de la mejor manera.

his tournament started with our team being very irregular, but as the games went by, we started changing into something constant. I think there was the key to our success, in the intelligence this squad showed to set the right course in a tough place like the Primera C. To make things better, San Telmo made history, because we managed to win a league at home for the first time in 111 years. We are happy for that and we feel we accomplished our mission, which was enriched by the work or our players and our coaching staff. The chore of this team has plenty of quality to face the next Division in the best possible way.

Y lo hizo con una regularidad que lo llevó a estar 22 partidos invicto hasta que se coronó en la última fecha de un torneo que no dio respiro. Merecido festejo para el pueblo arrabalero, que volverá a jugar en Primera C después de 12 años.

They did it with a regularity which allowed them to go for 22 matches undefeated until they were crowned in the last game of a tournament which gave them no rest. ue emocionante haber logrado el ascenso y lo disfrutamos mucho, sobre todo, por el modo en que salimos campeones, porque siempre estuvimos convencidos de cuál era la manera de jugar, sin traicionar nuestra idea a pesar de las dificultades que presenta la categoría. Para eso, por un lado, fue fundamental que los dirigentes bancaran este proyecto, que nos brindaran las herramientas necesarias para armar el esquema que pretendíamos y, por el otro, que los jugadores se convencieran de que cada fin de semana podían salir a la cancha a brindar un buen espectáculo. El plantel captó el mensaje de asumir riesgos, de salir jugando por abajo y se impuso con un estilo ofensivo.

t was very moving to win promotion and we’ve enjoyed it a lot, especially because of the way in which we became champions, because we were always convinced of the best way to play, without going against our philosophy despite the difficulties there are to play at this level. For that to happen, on one hand it was key for the board to back this project, for them to give us the tools we needed to build the system we wanted and on the other hand, it was important that the players were aware that they could go out there every weekend to try and play and give a good spectacle. The squad caught the message of assuming some risks by always playing with the ball on the ground and that’s how we imposed an attacking style.

l ascenso es un premio al trabajo digno y constante, al compromiso, al esfuerzo, a la firmeza en las convicciones. Llegué en diciembre del año pasado asumiendo que era uno de los desafíos más importantes de mi carrera. Con el cuerpo técnico conformamos un gran equipo de trabajo y el plantel construyó un excelente grupo humano como base esencial para grandes logros. Este título, además de una enorme alegría, nos da la tranquilidad interior por haber superado las dificultades de un torneo complejo por estructura, canchas y rivales, y por la enorme ansiedad del hincha, que necesitaba revalorizar la prestigiosa historia del club. Jugamos con la convicción de que afrontábamos 31 finales, y es un momento especial para dedicárselo a nuestras familias.

I arrived in December last year, knowing full well that this was one of the most important challenges in my career. With out coaching staff, we built a great work team and the squad built an excellent human group as an essential foundation for great achievements. This title, on top of being a source of great joy, gives us the inner peace of knowing we went through the difficulties of a complex tournament, for its structure, grounds and rivals and the huge anxiety from the fans, who needed to raise the bar once again for this prestigious club’s history. We played convinced we had 31 finals ahead of us and now is a special moment to dedicate this to our families.

l sueño de cada uno de ellos es trepar hasta las primeras planas, acaparar los flashes del éxito, volar alto, pero mientras tanto ir disfrutando del camino, divertirse, aprender, competir y, como en todo juego, tratar de ganar. Así como sucedió entre los grandes, en las Inferiores también hubo vueltas olímpicas para cerrar el año, con equipos que dominaron sus torneos de punta a punta, campeones invictos como San Lorenzo en 5ª, Lanús en 6ª, Boca en 7ª y Newell’s en 9ª, y dos clubes destacados: el Xeneize también festejó en 8ª, el Granate lo hizo en 4ª y, respectivamente, fueron líder y escolta de la tabla acumulada. Pero además de la Copa Campeonato, se definió la Copa Integración. En la zona Norte fueron campeones Godoy Cruz (4ª), Patronato (5ª y 6ª), Sarmiento (7ª), San Martín de San Juan (8ª) y Atlético Tucumán (9ª), en tanto que en la Sur celebraron Gimnasia LP (4ª y 7 ª), Colón (5ª, 6ª y 8ª) y Ferro (9ª).

Among the little ones, there were several celebrations and two clubs stood out: Boca and Lanús, besides obtaining the double crown, ended as leader and second-placed in the overall standings. he dream of each and everyone of them is to make the headlines, capture the flashes, fly high, but enjoying the ride in the process. Have fun, learn, compete and, like in every game, try to win. Just like what happened with the big boys, there were victory laps to close the year at the Youth Football tournaments, with teams which dominated from start to finish. Undefeated champions like the 5th team of San Lorenzo, Lanús’ 6th, Boca’s 7th and Newell’s 9th. With two outstanding clubs: Boca also celebrated with the 8th division and Lanús did it with the 4th. They were top and second-placed in the overall standings, respectively. But besides the Copa Campeonato, the Copa Integración came to an end. Continuador de la herencia de Don Pepe Amalfitani en Vélez, fue presidente en dos períodos. Y fue en la institución de Liniers donde plantó la semilla de su pasión, que luego trasladó a la Asociación del Fútbol Argentino, para transformarse en el cofundador del Fútbol Infantil junto con Julio Humberto Grondona. Desde ese lugar generó una verdadera revolución: la AFA es una única federación con Comisión de Fútbol Infantil en el mundo. Aquí lo homenajeamos con números, hitos de su gestión y las cálidas palabras de quienes lo acompañaron. Y aprendieron de él.

PUNTOS SEGUNDO Y TERCERO DEL ORDEN DEL DÍA Con respecto al tratamiento de los Puntos 2º y 3º del Orden del Día, el Dr. Hugo C. Tomaghello hizo llegar su agradecimiento por la inquietud que ha tenido el Comité Ejecutivo que, con fines institucionales, propuso a la

Asamblea prorrogar el mandato del señor Presidente de la Asociación del Fútbol Argentino, y agregó que en honor a la gobernabilidad de nuestra Asociación entendía que la misma debería ser realizada en los primeros días del mes de diciembre próximo, en lugar del 1º de marzo de 2016. Por lo tanto, propuso la realización de la misma para el día 3 de diciembre de 2015, a las 19.00 horas, en este mismo Predio “Julio Humberto Grondona”; y que se prorrogue el actual mandato del señor Presidente hasta que se lleve a cabo la referida Asamblea, resultando que el próximo mandato sea desde el 4 de diciembre de 2015 hasta el 25 de octubre de 2019. El Ing. Alfredo G. Dagna apoyó la moción del señor Asambleísta por el Club Defensa y Justicia, la cual resultó aprobada por unanimidad de votos (73) y tras lo cual, el recinto tributó un sostenido aplauso.

PUNTO CUARTO DEL ORDEN DEL DÍA El Dr. Hugo C. Tomaghello expresó que en virtud de lo dispuesto por el Comité Ejecutivo el día 18 de agosto de 2015, oportunidad en la cual y forma unánime, dispuso la creación de una Vicepresidencia 3ª. que reemplazará, por su orden, en caso de ausencia con sus mismas atribuciones al Presidente, Vicepresidente 1º y Vicepresidente 2º de la Asociación del Fútbol Argentino; y considerando que se trata de una reforma al Estatuto, hacía moción para que la presente Asamblea apruebe este punto del Orden del Día. Con el apoyo del señor Aníbal Campanini, la propuesta fue aprobada por unanimidad de votos (73).

PUNTO QUINTO DEL ORDEN DEL DíA El señor Daniel Ferreiro recordó que el día 18 de agosto de 2015 el Comité Ejecutivo, por unanimidad de votos, aprobó la modificación del Régimen de Descensos y dispuso elevarla a la consideración de este Cuerpo, conforme lo determinan las disposiciones estatutarias vigentes. Por ello, hizo moción para la correspondiente aprobación de las reformas pertinentes referidas al Campeonato de Primera División. Por último, y con relación a las restantes Categorías, como así también a los Torneos organizados por el Consejo Federal, el señor Ferreiro hizo moción para que sean ellas mismas y el mencionado Organismo, según corresponda, las que presenten al Comité Ejecutivo las normas pertinentes para su consideración. Con la presencia de Luis Segura, el Departamento Médico de la AFA realizó un curso de capacitación para médicos y kinesiólogos deportivos. El mismo se llevó a cabo en el predio de Ezeiza y contó con la participación de 150 especialistas. A los jugadores, pero más que nada al equipo, les sobraron personalidad, decisión, tesón, capacidad e inteligencia para dominar el juego durante los 90 minutos y, consecuentemente, ratificar en la hierba el respaldo al técnico y su librito.

Las bajas, importantes, como fueron las de Lionel Messi, Sergio Agüero, Ezequiel Garay, Pablo Zabaleta, Carlos Tevez o Javier Pastore, no lograron amedrentar a la Selección en este fin de año. Argentina se las arregló para despedirse con cuatro de seis puntos, ubicándose en posición expectante en la tabla de posiciones, pero, sobre todo, y acaso lo más valioso, convidando un par de actuaciones (principalmente la de Barranquilla) estimulantes para los hinchas, y para cerrar el 2015 con esperanza en lo que será un 2016 cargado de compromisos y desafíos, léase ocho encuentro de Eliminatorias, la Copa América Centenario y los Juegos Olímpicos, ideales para continuar ratificando y puliendo el equipo que en Rusia 2018 nos deje poco trabajo por hacer a los 40.000.000 de técnicos.

The national team played a very solid game. There were individual high points in Banega, Biglia, Otamendi, Di María, but there were also others who were up to the challenge. The players, but most of all the team, had plenty of personality, decision, tenacity and the ability and intelligence to dominate the game for 90 minutes and, as a consequence, to show on the field that they have their manager’s back. The absences were important. Tras esas dos caídas, los juveniles llegaban a la última fecha con la obligación de superar a los australianos y esperar otros resultados para clasificarse como uno de los mejores terceros. Pero otra derrota (1-2) despidió a la Selección. Una pena. Luego del subcampeonato en el Sudamericano de Paraguay, el grupo se preparó durante 50 días para el torneo de sus vidas. Tristes por no haber podido cumplir con el objetivo, cada uno de los mundialistas seguirá en sus clubes con la ambición de volver a la Selección en el futuro y tomarse revancha. ¡Ánimo, chicos!

But another defeat (1-2) saw Argentina eliminated. A shame. After being runners-up in Paraguay at the South American championship, the team prepared for 50 days for the tournament of their lives. They are sad because they couldn’t fulfil their dreams and now each of the players will continue playing for their clubs hoping to be back with the National Team in the future and looking for revenge. Chins up, boys!

Diego Jorajuría arrancó en Platense, se fue a Croacia y una lesión le cortó la carrera. Hoy, a los 25 años, juega al Futsal, está en la Selección de Playa y sueña con volver al verde césped.

ás que de toda la cancha, Diego Ezequiel Jorajuría es un jugador de todas las canchas, alguien que a los 25 años ya recorrió las distintas superficies por donde rueda (o a veces no tanto) la pelota. Tres disciplinas “distintas” que así desmenuza: “Cada una tiene sus secretos, pero en líneas generales el fútbol de campo es más lento que el de Playa y que el Futsal, similares entre sí por la forma de moverse, la atención constante y la cantidad de jugadores. Sin embargo, en Playa se juega todo por arriba y hay más contacto físico”. Como infinidad de chicos que sueñan con ser futbolistas, Jorajuría dio sus primeros pasos en el baby, jugando los torneos de FAFI para Juventud de Saavedra. Después pasó por Argentinos, hizo las Inferiores en Platense, tuvo un breve paréntesis en Vélez, y en su vuelta al Calamar le tocó llegar al primer equipo. Tenía sólo 17 años, el club estaba en la B Nacional y su debut le permitió saltar a la Primera División… Pero de Croacia. “Fui la figura de ese partido y en la tribuna había unos empresarios que ese mismo día empezaron a representarme. A fin de año emigré al Dynamo Zagreb y luego pasé al NK Lokomotiva”, cuenta quien debió soportar una lesión de rodilla que acabó con su aventura balcánica. Regresó a Buenos Aires, cruzó a Uruguay para jugar en River y Wanderers, pero allí volvió a lastimarse la rodilla: “La pierna me quedó trabada en el piso y otra vez la misma lesión. Me costó mucho en lo anímico, sentí miedo... Un año estaba jugando a nivel internacional y al otro pensando en dejar todo”.

Hasta que el Futsal se apareció en su camino: “Empecé casi sin querer, simplemente para colaborar con El Talar, un club al que quiero mucho. Yo me fui sintiendo cada día mejor, salí goleador del torneo, y nos salvamos de la desafiliación. De ahí pasé a 17 de Agosto, donde conocí al Chino”. El Chino es Gustavo Casado, además del preparador físico de dicho equipo, el entrenador de la Selección de Fútbol Playa. Y fue él quien invitó a Jorajuría a poner los pies en la arena. “Me encantó, es un deporte muy lindo y, encima, viene con el plus de defender los colores argentinos, que es lo máximo”, se entusiasma Diego, del mismo modo que lo hace cuando piensa en el verde césped: “No descarto volver al fútbol de campo. El entrenamiento en la arena me ayudó mucho en la recuperación y me siento con confianza. El año próximo quizá lo intente”.

57 Diego Jorajuría started in Platense, he went to Croatia and an injury cut his career short. Today, aged 25, he plays Futsal, he is part of the beach soccer national team and dreams of returning to the green grass.

ore than an all-round player, Diego Ezequiel Jorajuría is a player who can play in every pitch there is. Somebody that at 25 has already played on as many surfaces as the ball rolls on. Three different disciplines he explains for us: “Each one has its secrets, but generally speaking, “normal” football is slower than beach soccer and Futsal, which are similar between them for the way you have to move, the constant attention and the number of players. However, beach soccer is played more with the ball in the air and there is more physical contact”.

Like an infinity of kids who dream of being a footballer, Jorajuría started by playing 5-a-side, taking part of Youth FAFI tournaments in Saavedra. He later joined Argentinos Juniors, played his youth football at Platense, had a brief spell at Vélez and on his return to Platense, he made it to the first team. He was only 17, the club were playing at the B Nacional and his debut allowed him to make the leap to the First Division…but of Croatia. “I was man of the match that day and there were some agents watching the game in the tribune and I became their player. At the end of that year, I emigrated to Dynamo Zagreb and then I moved to NK Lokomotiva”, says the man who had to endure a knee injury which cut short his Balcan experience. He came back to Buenos Aires, went to Uruguay to play for River and Wanderers, but he injured his knee again. “My foot stayed firmly on the floor and I suffered the same injury again. It took its emotional toll on me, I was scared…one year I was playing at an international level, the next I’m thinking of quitting football altogether”. Until his path crossed that of Futsal: “I started almost by chance, simply to collaborate with El Talar, a club I really love. I started feeling better every day, I was top-scorer in one tournament, we were saved from disaffiliation. From there, I went to 17 de Agosto, where I met “El Chino”. “El Chino” is Gustavo Casado’s nickname, who besides being the fitness coach at the club, is also the beach soccer national team manager. It was him who invited Jorajuría to put his feet on the sand. “I loved it, it’s a very nice sport and, on top of it, there’s a bonus like defending the national team colours, which is the best thing”, says a very excited Diego, who feels the same emotions when he thinks of making a comeback to the green field: “I don’t rule out going back to play traditional football. Training in the sand has really helped me recover and I feel confident. Maybe I will give it a try next year”.

bigail Chávez tiene 18 años y una vida hiperactiva. Ya de chiquita le gustaba prenderse en cuanto juego había por practicar y esa energía no fue menguando con el correr de los años. Más bien, todo lo contrario. Tanto es así que, casi sin querer queriendo, llegó a tejer las redes entre dos deportes que, por más siameses que parezcan en las playas de Copacabana, pocas cosas tienen en común. El fútbol por un lado; el vóley por el otro. Y Abigail, con sus manos y sus sueños, volando de acá para allá. “A puro reflejos”, como dice ella... “La pasión por el fútbol la tuve desde niña, pero no siempre me permitieron desarrollarla. Eso me llevó a buscar otro deporte y ahí surgió el vóley: con el tiempo le fui tomando el gustito hasta que terminé federada y jugando en Pinocho”, cuenta Abigail, quien últimamente estuvo repartiendo sus días entre los remates que suele ensayar en el club de Villa Urquiza y las atajadas que no dejan de deslumbrar en Casa Amarilla y el predio de Ezeiza. “Hace un año me ofrecieron una prueba en Boca y yo acepté medio en broma, como para ir a pasar el rato y saber de qué se trataba. Pero, bueno, resulta que al toque me llamaron para ficharme y ahora mirá dónde estoy, defendiendo el buzo de la Selección”, se emociona esta chica que nació en San Isidro y que debió dejar de dar clases de apoyo escolar para dedicarle más tiempo al objetivo de ser parte del plantel que viajó al Sudamericano Sub 20: “La Selección es todo para mí y espero que éste haya sido el primero de muchos pasos más”. > elizabeth aversa eaversa@afa.org.ar

bigail Chávez is 18 and she has a hyper-active life. Ever since she was little, she liked taking part of any game there was to play and that energy hasn’t diminish with time. On the contrary. So much so that almost without her wanting to, she started combining two sports that, for much as they look like one when you’re at the Copacabana beach in Rio, have very little in common. Football on one hand, volleyball on the other. Abigail, holding her dreams with her hands, goes from one place to the other. “On pure reflexes”, as she likes to put it... “Passion for football has been with me since I was a girl, but I wasn’t always allowed to develop it. That took me on the road of finding another sport and I discovered volleyball. With time, I ended up liking it and became a player for Club Pinocho”, says Abigail, who has lately been juggling her days between the spikes she practices at the Villa Urquiza club and the saves that has people in awe at Casa Amarilla and the Ezeiza complex. “A year ago I was invited for a trial at Boca and I accepted but it was kind of as a joke, like just passing time and checking it out. But, hey, I ended up getting called right away to sign me up and look where I am now! Keeping goal for the national team!”, the girl who was born in San Isidro gets excited telling her story. She had to stop giving support school lessons to dedicate more time to being part of the team which traveled to the U20 South American championship: “The national team is everything to me and I hope this is only the first of many steps”.

Aunque cuenta que desde chiquita le apasionó el fútbol, Abigail hace apenas un año fue a probarse a Boca. Quedó enseguida y creció hasta formar parte del plantel que viajó al Sudamericano Sub 20. Even though she tells how football is her passion since she was little, Abigail has only gone for a trial at Boca one year ago. She made it and she grew up until she became part of the team that went to the U20 South American championship.

The girls are always predisposed, responsible, efficient. They are in charge of cleaning the Youth Teams Complex, the rooms where the National Team lives and the complex’s main offices and every building that belong to the gem the AFA possess in Ezeiza. To fulfil this task, they start very early, at 8 AM, and they leave when there’s nobody else around, at 6 PM. They are another key team to the AFA.

ermán Bermúdez navega por la vida con sus tres pasiones a bordo. Hombre de negro curtido en las canchas del Ascenso, también se lo puede ver esgrimiendo el micrófono con la soltura de un espadachín. Ya sea locutando o interpretando las coplas de Joan Manuel Serrat, esa voz, queda claro, tiene muchas ganas de decir.

Y dice Bermúdez que fue por su padre que empezó a meter las narices en el arbitraje, ya que cuando Humberto era presidente de prensa de Vélez, solía mandar al joven Germán a buscar las planillas con las formaciones de los equipos y la terna arbitral. Así conoció a referentes del silbato como Juan Carlos Biscay, Francisco Lamolina, Jorge Vigliano, Juan Carlos Loustau y Carlos Mastrángelo, este último quien le dio el empujón necesario para iniciarse en una profesión que ya hace 18 años forma parte de su estilo de vida. Parte, se ha dicho, porque Germán siempre convivió con cierto histrionismo. “De chico ya me sentía cómodo frente al público y era habitual que condujera los actos escolares: es ahí cuando nace mi vocación”, relata quien se recibió de locutor e el ISER (Instituto Superior de Enseñanza Radiofónica) y desplegó su labor en reconocidos medios nacionales como Crónica, Canal 26 y Radio Rivadavia. Pero para seguir conociendo al personaje en cuestión, AFA Revista se trasladó hasta el barrio de Floresta para presenciar uno de sus shows. Luego de aplausos y saludos varios, el cantante contó cómo fue que nació desde temprana edad su veta artística: “Mientras cocinaba, mi papá siempre ponía tangos de fondo y yo los cantaba. Y cuando se iba, agarraba los discos de Serrat y también cantaba sobre su voz”. -¿Cuál es el hilo conductor entre tus tres pasiones? -La exposición pública. Sé que en ciertos casos cosecharé aplausos, en otros críticas y, por qué no, algún insulto perdido. Pero así son las reglas del juego... -¿Y en ese juego existe una meta en particular? -Creo que la meta es andar, crecer un poco todos los días haciendo lo que uno disfruta. Como dice el poeta Joan Salvat-Papasseit, “yo no prometo nada, nomás camino, mojando la pluma en el corazón”.

ermán Bermúdez navigates through life with his three passions on board. A seasoned man in black after years officiating in the lower leagues, he can also be seeing with a microphone in his hand. Be it working as an announcer or singing the verses of Joan Manuel Serrat, that voice, it’s clear, wants to say a lot. Bermúdez says it was because of his father he started getting his nose around refereeing. Humberto Bermúdez was a media officer at Vélez and he would often send young Germán to bring the team sheets and the information about the officials. That’s how he became familiar with legendary referees such as Juan Carlos Biscay, Francisco Lamolina, Jorge Vigliano, Juan Carlos Loustau and Carlos Mastrángelo. It was the latter who gave him the final push for him to take on this profession which has become a way of life for him for the last 18 years. Partly, it must be said, because Germán has always lived in a certain histrionic way. “Ever since I was a kid, I felt comfortable in front of an audience and it was normal for me to host the school acts: that was when my vocation started showing up”, says the announcer who graduated from ISER (Superior Institute of Radio Studies) and has worked in well-known media such as Crónica, Canal 26 and Radio Rivadavia. To keep knowing the character in question, AFA Revista went to the district of Floresta to witness one of his shows. After a round of applause and some greetings, the singer told the story of how his artistic self was born at a very early age: “While he was cooking, my father would always play tango records and I’d sing along. When he wasn’t around, I’d grab Serrat’s records and sing over his voice”. -What’s the common denominator between your three passions? -The public exposure. I know in some cases I’ll earn applauses, in other, criticism and, why not, some insults. But those are the rules of the game... -Is there an objective in particular in that game? -I think the objective is to walk, to grow a little bit every day doing what I enjoy. Like the poet Joan Salvat-Papasseit said: “I don’t promise anything, I just walk, wetting the feather in my heart”.

Con sus 67 años, Ricardo Rezza era, hasta su reciente salida de Temperley, el técnico más longevo de nuestra elite futbolera. Empezó a dirigir en los ‘80 en la filial del Sporting Gijón y su primera experiencia en la Argentina fue en Villarino, un equipo amateur de Chivilcoy. Pasó por el banco de 16 clubes y con cuatro distintos consiguió seis ascensos: dos veces subió a la A con Gimnasia y Tiro (1993 y 1997), logro que repitió al mando de Belgrano en 1998; en 2013 llevó a Villa San Carlos a la B Nacional, mientras que al año siguiente agarró al Gasolero en la Primera B y lo condujo hasta la máxima categoría, donde lo mantuvo y se fue. At 67, Ricardo Rezza was, until he recently left Temperley, the most senior top flight manager. He started out in the 80s working for Sporting Gijon’s B side and his first experience in Argentina was in Villarino, an amateur club from Chivilcoy.
