A very warm welcome to our spring issue as we showcase some exciting new fashion stories for this beautiful season. Spring is a playground for designers and artists where anything goes. From the bright complementary colours to the more neutral monochrome tones, everything seems to fit right now as we get massively inspired from the nature. Pay attention to the hints of the SS19 trends in these editorial stories. The beige monochromatics in “Minimalistic layers” by Maria Chi; the zesty dreamy beach looks in “La Piscine” by Caroline Sénécal; the beautiful crafty folk elements in “White Light” by Caroline Miller; the styling with hats in “Ajong” by Yelssing Espinoza, the joyful tutti frutti shades in “Expression” by Evgenia Burilo; and lastly the forever spring favourites – whimsical florals in “Radical Relic” by Andrew Ho. Pretty in Pink Fresh, glowing skin and monochromatic pink perfection. written by Luciana Petrossian The secret to a radiant, feminine, natural makeup look is starting with the right skincare to prep your skin for the perfect base. For this look I began by cleansing Malin’s skin using the Elemis Rehydrating Rosepetal Cleanser followed by the Soothing Apricot Toner. ELEMIS Rehydrating Rosepetal Cleanser This cleanser removes make-up and the daily build up of skin pollutants with Vitamin E and F blended with Rosepetal Flower Water to hydrate and purify the skin, restoring a clean and healthy complexion
ELEMIS Soothing Apricot Toner This calming treatment toner effectively tones the skin and helps maintain the pH level, without the use of alcohol or other harsh detergents. Extracts of Apricot, Quillja Wood and Sweet Betty Flower soothe and harmonise the skin, leaving a fresh and radiant complexion.
I applied Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream to the eye area, which uses coffee beans, ginseng and magnolia extract to revitalise and refresh. Its an instant wake-up call for your eyes! Next I applied Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré with my hands, really massaging the product into the skin to increase bloodflow and plump the skin. This wonder product, is really 3 products in 1, a rich moisturiser, primer and even makeup remover! Favoured by dermatologists for decades; a combination of ingredients of natural origin, rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins. It provides the skin with all the nutrients and water needed for its balance, and accelerates cell renewal. Moisturises, nourishes and repairs the skin which becomes supple, plumped, smoothed, and with incredibly soft satin texture. Signs of dryness and discomfort disappear, skin is left radiant and revitalised. It’s an essential product for any makeup artist’s kit! Less is more for this kind of look, so instead of applying a foundation I decided to use the ‘Yoga Skin Technique’ invented by the talented Scottish makeup artist Sara Hill. This technique involves mixing facial oil, strobe cream and illuminator drops into a light foundation. I used a ratio of 60% skin-mix, 40% foundation for a very sheer radiant finish. I applied this in thin layers using my hands then added a touch of Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer in the areas where needed.
To add more definition to the face I used the Kat Von D Cream Contour Palette, then The Body Sop Lip & Cheek Stain in ‘Dusty Rose’ applied to the apples of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, forehead and a little on the chin. Followed by Revolution Pro Liquid Highlighter on the high points of the face for that extra glow! ‘I then set the sides of the nose, under the eyes and centre of the forehead with a very light dusting of Nars Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder using a small fluffy brush. Westbarn co Soap Brows was used to groom the brows and Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in ‘Dolly’ applied to the lips for a plump glossy pout. To finish the look I mixed a custom shade using Make Up For Ever Auqa Color XL Paints ‘Lusturous White’ and ‘Matte Red’. The Make Up For Ever Aqua range is a range of waterproof makeup that was originally made for synchronised swimmer in Paris. I chose a waterproof product for the eyes so that it wouldn’t crease or move when Linda Hallberg’s Infinity glass was applied on top for a glassy finish.

Retro Graphic Eyes This trend brings us serious vintage vibes. A modern take on the 60’s eye with a pop of colour for a fresh spring feel. For this look, I used Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic - a waterproof glide-on eyeshadow stick – in S’60 Satiny Warm Brown’ to define the crease and upper lashline, then shade ‘ME50 Metallic Golden Taupe’ over the lid. To add a playful splash of colour I applied the Aqua XL Eye Pencil in I32 Iridescent Lagoon Green to the lower waterline, followed by Star Lit Powder in 13 Ivory to the inner corner of the eyes and Smoky Lash Mascara. To complete the look I applied the Ultra HD Lip Booster in 01 Cinema to the lips.

Bold Glossy Lips
Be bold this spring with a fiery red, bright coral or hot pink lips to elevate your makeup look. For this look I prepped the lips with MAC Prep + Prime Lip then used Make Up For Ever Artist Colour Pencil in ‘716 Countless Crimson’ to line the lips. Next I applied Artist Liquid Matte lipstick ‘403 Deep Red’ to the lips and ‘401 Red’ just in the centre to create a slight ombre effect. Finished off with a touch of Buxom Va-Va Plump Shiny Liquid Lipstick in ‘Boldly Go’. To compliment rhe lips I used Make Up For Ever Star Lit Powder in ‘11 Golden Orange’.

COLOURFUL STATEMENT EYES
Spring just makes us want to play with colour, or do something we’ve never done before - and all the beauty trends coming off red carpets and runways recently reflect exactly that. We’ve seen trends such as colour blocking, rainbow eyeshadow and neon mascara. This season go bright and express yourself!
I wanted to keep this look minimal, but effective. I only used two eyeshadow colours on the eyes, Make Up For Ever Artist Color Shadow in ‘ME-400 Buttercup’ and ‘I-340 Lime Green’. Lastly I applied Artist Rouge Light Lipstick – a delicate moisture rich pink - to the lips. I chose this colour combination because to me, these three colours best represent spring.
