10 Tips to Celebrate Valentine’s Day Everyone at some point or another has that Valentine’s Day anticipation, whether it be that we want to spend time with the one we love or reflect on the memory of our most memorable Valentine’s Day to date. These thoughts flood us with emotions and tie us to create or reflect on memories. So why not take some time to enjoy Valentine’s Day? The theory is “It’s the thought that counts” sentiment over what we receive or do. So here are some quick, simple ways that can put a smile on any Valentines’ face, no matter our age!

Classic Movie Rewind

Find a movie you and your sweetheart have memories tied to, pop some popcorn or enjoy your favorite movie snacks cuddled on the couch. Some great movies that come to mind include The Notebook, Casablanca, Titanic, Romeo and Juliet, or even The Princess Bride. Chances are there will always be that one movie that hits home!

Romantic Simple At-Home Dinner

For this one, consider what is easy you don’t have to necessarily cook it for it to be great. What is that one meal that brings you back to some of your beginning days? Crazy enough for me, it’s baked chicken nuggets and french fries! When we started dating, we were a very simple couple and still are to this day, but something about that memory of my husband cooking me chicken nuggets and fries on a whim and whenever I smell them or make them at home it brings me back to those memories!

Plan Your Favorite Take-Out Meal

Can’t Cook? No Worries! Today, we have access to anything at our fingertips. If you’re tech-savvy, use this opportunity to have a meal delivered to home or pick up your favorite quick and easy take-out meal. Most restaurants offer order ahead and often offer Valentine’s Day meals to-go.

Game Night

Sometimes, just a simple game of Gin Rummy or a board game is all we need for quality time with our loved ones!

Who doesn’t love a good dance? Take your sweetheart by the hand, turn down the lights, and let the music bring you to your feet. Like movies and food, music can flood us with emotions and love.

Take Your Valentine on a Picnic

pack your basket or brown bag, and take a ride! Get out in fresh air, find a park, beach, or safe waterfront to enjoy nature’s surroundings and your meal together.
