HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DLMS FARM GATE TIMED AUCTION WITH EXTENDED BIDDING:
1.Visit dlms.ca and follow the link to the DLMS FarmGate timed auction site www.farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.
2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.
3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot withoutonce again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.
4. At closing time of the sale the entire sale will extend bidding if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after close time will extend the sale by the time listed on each sale. In Most cases the time gets shorter the longer in to extended bidding the sale is. When no bidding occurs for the extended time the computer will declare the sale finished.
5. Following the sale the Owner or Sale Manager will invoice all buyers in the sale, please contact the seller with questions or to arrange delivery, pick up or shipping of your purchases. For more info and assistance with bidding contact any of the sale contacts listed on the DLMS Website; DLMS FarmGate Timed Auctions ~ Mark Shologan Ph: 780-699-5082
FAQ:
WHAT IS RACEHORSE STYLE SALE CLOSE? Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding. HOW WILL EXTENDED BIDDING WORK? When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

SONS SELLING
17K, 42K, 49K, 24K, 37K, 45K, 50K, 72K,40K, 41K, 53K, 46K
We purchased Westcott the spring of 2019, so this offering is our third calf crop. You can walk amongst the Bulls and stamp the head shape and hip structure of all the Wescott sons. They are sweet headed, with a long deep hip and they type their sire very similarly. Westcott himself is a big footed, long bodied, mass of power and performance. As much as we were excited for purchasing a Wescott son, we were more excited about the cow family. The Absolute females are second to none here at the farm. They are moderate framed, easy doing girls with nice tight udders and nice teat size. He may be one of the most consistent Bulls we have ever purchased.
W2 BAD BLOOD 4H
SONS SELLING 43K, 26K, 28K, 15K, 38K
Bad blood was sold to Don Williams from W2 Farms in 2021 and we were fortunate to lease him that spring and we were very impressed with his calves. He was a no nonsense breeder and all the calves were born in the first cycle. He was dark red with a super wide top and lots of depth of quarter. We was very easy to handle as we hand bred with him for the first week before we had cows sorted into breeding groups. These Bulls have his muscle shape and depth of flank as well as his sweet disposition. His females are very stylish heifers with lots of hair and length. They were the heaviest weaning group at weaning this past fall

LAZY S OCTANY 30D
SONS SELLING 60K, 66K, 55K, 67K
This is our last calf crop from Octane and he didn’t disappoint. Octane was purchased from Lazy S Ranch in the winter of 2017. He was a great outcross for us out of 2 black parents with a moderate 90 lbs birthweight and lots of growth and performance. We have milking octane daughters that have been great milkers. He consistently adds length and frame to his calves. He also throws the dark red colouring in our purebred and commercial calves. Octane was a great outcross sire that was a great breeder, easily handling 50-60 head a year between two groups.

We have A.I.’ed our heifers to Epic the last few years and he has not disappointed us. With low birth weights, easy calving and lots of growth, he has made a tremendous impact in our herd. We had 2 Bulls in our offering last year that were heavily sought after and 3 again in this years sale. We have a few Epic heifers almost ready to calve and they are dropping beautiful udders. It’s always exciting to see the next generation ready to freshen to see how a sire has truly benefitted your herd.
WHEATLAND RIVAL 8125F
SON SELLING 21K
We purchased some Rival semen from the W2 sale in 2020 and only got 2 calves the first year, one of each. Rival is the sire of W2 Bad Blood 4H, he was the lead off red bull from Wheatlands bull sale that spring. Rival stamps them deep, soggy and very easy fleshing. We only have one Rival son on offer this year and more to come next year.

Rumble would be our bet the ranch calving ease prospect. Only 80Lb at birth and very moderate in frame size, he types Kman the most. Sweet headed, smooth fronted, lots of hair and testicle, he is a great choice for heifers. Rumble was the calf on our Son David’s 4-H 2 year old last year. I would take 100 of this cow. She’s an easy keeping, very quiet, moderate in stature and has a beautiful udder. A very solid cow family and easy calving makes Rumble an easy choice for heifers. POLLED

This is our only Rival son in the sale this year, but with many on the ground this spring. They are soggy, loose hided Bulls that move really well. Ridgid is super easy fleshing, with lots of heart and flank and a great big foot underneath him. He comes from a very moderate “Stubby” female who has lots of rib shape and capacity. Ridgid’s 1/2 sibling “Luna” was Garrett’s 4-H cleaver calf last summer. The cow family is very docile and a more outcross cow family with Stubby and Powerdrive back in the pedigree. POLLED

This solid red chunk of meat was a twin! He stems back to one of my first 4-H cows. 28D is a Bynn daughter who has a beautiful udder. She is very feminine and sharp fronted but still holds lots of capacity and heart. This cow always throws them dark red and consistent. Last years 1/2 maternal brother sold to Howard Ness. Everlast is not a big framed bull but he is stout. Lots of top, full in through his lower quarter and lots of testicle. Look to Everlast for long term genetics, great maternal traits including udder structure and lots of meat and muscle. POLLED.

We love the style, presence and power of Stanley. He is long bodied with lots of rib shape and strong hip structure. Stanley is wide topped, he is wide based with a solid foot underneath him. He comes from a very strong foundation cow. Raindance is a strong hipped, great uddered cow with lots of barrel and capacity. Look to Stanley to add maternal traits as well as pounds and performance. Maternal brother sold to MALCOLM & CORINNE WILKOWSKI. POLLED

Snap on is another solid Octane son. His picture doesn’t do him the justice he deserves. He was one of our favorites as a calf last summer. He’s easy fleshing with a square hip and lots of fullness in his lower quarter. He’s out of a favorite Mayhem daughter who is a full bodied black cow with a sharp front end and a solid foot. He has 1/2 maternal sister milking this January. She is beautiful uddered and moderate framed with lots of volume. POLLED

This is our only black Octane son in the group this year and he is long as a freight train. He has lots of hair, lots of top, neck extension and depth of quarter. 7B is a bull maker. she has very often had a sleeper in the pen that continues to change and develop throughout the year and become a favorite come January. We can never underestimate the calves from this cow family. Last years 1/2 maternal brother sold to Terry & Val Quattek. POLLED
