EVENT RECAP Vietnam Youth Speak Research was officially launched on 29th April 2014 with the engagement of supporAng partners, media partners, youth leaders from various clubs and organizaAons in the city as well as students from 10 different academic background.

From AIESEC, Vice President of MarkeAng – Ms. Tram Tran – who is mainly responsible for the research introduced the objecAves of Vietnam Youth Speak 2014 at the very beginning of the event. The 1st objecAve was to understand the current youth of Vietnam and how can we create the best environment for them to develop and contribute. The 2nd objecAve was to see the impact and influence of technology towards the way youth communicate and interact with each other. AIESEC in Vietnam also expected the students to support the research as the output will be working to their advantages.

EVENT RECAP With many years of experience working in Human Resources industry, Ms. Mai Phuong – Unilever HR Business Partners elaborated more on what are the key characterisAcs of current generaAon of youth and how important it is for business to bridge the generaAon gap between gen X and gen Y.

Nielsen Vietnam played a very important role in Vietnam Youth S p e a k 2 0 1 4 i n t e r m s o f conducAng qualitaAve research a n d c o n s u l A n g o n s u r v e y methodology. In the event, Mr. V a u g h a n R y a n ( M a n a g i n g Director) together with Ms. Hoang Thach Thao (Associates Director of MarkeAng and CommunicaAons) stressed on the importance of using data to predict and prepare for the future.

NIELSEN SPEECH ADECCO SPEECH Go further into the future, Ms. Nicola Connolly – General Director of Adecco Vietnam, Chairwoman of EuroCham presented the output of research about generaAon Z in Asia. One of the key findings is that Vietnamese youth feel very confident to find a preferred job compared to other countries, in spite of the fact that unemployment is a significant issue in Vietnam.
