LCP application package

DEAR READER, Congratulations! Whether you have already made your mind up or are just curious about the process of applying for LCP, opening this booklet and reading this introduction is the first step to maybe become the next Local Committee President of an AIESEC entity in The Netherlands! Being LCP is a unique experience: it will be exciting, rewarding, fulfilling, challenging and unforgettable. You will do things you have never done before, face challenges you have never thought you would face and achieve things you never imagined. As LCP you will be leading and developing your LC, lead a diverse team to amazing achievements and growth, and contributing to the national and global organization. And by doing this, you will develop yourself incredibly much on both personal and professional aspects. I know it’s scary to step up and apply for LCP (for instance, I didn’t dare to do it). It means starting to develop your vision for AIESEC for The Netherlands and your LC, opening up about your strengths and weaknesses and taking up the final responsibility. But instead of thinking of all the reasons why you shouldn’t do it, think of why you should. Because in the end “It’s good to be! It’s good to be an LCP!” In this booklet you can find information about the role and the application process, as well as the contact details of the current BoP (Board of Presidents - the LCPs and the MCP). We wish you all the best of luck with your application! Enjoy the ride! DALEY VAN DE SANDE

Interviews

You apply for the position of LCP by handing in an application package. This package should consist of three parts:

In the week after the application deadline, you will have your first interview. After the first interview, you will get notified whether you can continue to the second interview.

• Your CV • A manifest (minimal font size 11) This will be a document in which you present yourself, your motivation and your future plans for your LC. All the questions on page 10 have to be answered in your manifest. You are invited to do it in your own style. The manifest should be a maximum of 5 pages (excluding cover). • A blank page (A4) Here you have the opportunity to add something personal/extra to your application. It can be used in any way you think is relevant. It can be regarded as a blank space to show creativity, to visualize or to clarify. It should not be another page of text. Keep it limited in words.

You will receive more in-depth information about your first interview after the application deadline. In general, both interviews will focus on your motivation and relevant competencies. Every applicant that makes it into the second interview automatically also takes part in the Vote of Confidence. Vote of Confidence During the Vote of Confidence each applicant that got into the second interview, will present his/her manifest in a maximum of 15 minutes to all members of the Local Committee. After the presentation, there is room to ask questions to the candidate for 30 minutes. Finally, every member has one vote per LCP applicant, to show whether he/she has the confidence that this person could be the next LCP of AIESEC in your city. The applicant that has best performed in his/her interviews and gets confidence from the majority of the members of the LC will then be elected as the new LCP.
