How does the Exchange Program work? AIESEC contacts local companies and NGO’s to enable internship possibilities. These internships will come on the AIESEC database, where you, as an exchange participant (EP) can apply for. The OGX-team (outgoing exchange team) will follow-up on your raising, matching and realization. Through your local AIESEC committee you can apply for the exchange program and become an exchange participant. The process you will follow is further explained on pages 6 and 7. The AIESEC database contains every internship possibility available at that time. Keep in mind that it is a dynamic site where internships are filled in and new opportunities are put on-line constantly. All internships are different, in another country, with another company, with other tasks, etc. and at every moment there are more than 2000 possibilities! This way everyone is able to find an internship that fits. The AIESEC database will help you through the steps of searching and applying for opportunities. It should and will be your daily tool in the process. But the final decision whether or not to accept you as an intern will be a decision of the company you applied for.

There will be some selection rounds, sometimes with tests through the Internet, or an interview through skype. When you have found an internship and got accepted, AIESEC will help you all the way through the process of going abroad. For every question you might have, or any problem you might encounter, the local AIESEC committee will support you. The company you will work for will provide a salary that covers your living cost, or will provide housing and food. Most of the time, when going abroad with AIESEC, you won’t be the only intern present. You will come into a group of international interns and through the local AIESEC’ers you can get to know the locals. This way you will have the most international experience you can imagine! When you come home again from your journey, you will have had an amazing experience and you can start looking for a job with a head start, due to your professional experience gained during your internship. We also care about your experience, and you will have an opportunity to give feedback on. the AIESEC support and help us improve on our services. 3

They Did IT! Tine Van Hoof Egypt, Alexandria Think Green Project

Seeing Egypt through the eyes of an AIESECer is an amazing experience. It is a country that surprises you, every day. I have great memories of the children who participated in our Think Green project, great memories of cultural trips around the country, of the famous Library of Alexandria, the warm night life and the intercultural friendships. I am so grateful for learning so much through my AIESEC experience… Thank you!! 9
