American Airlines "The new American is coming"
American Airlines and U.S. Airways have wasted no time unveiling a new TV commercial heralding the merger of the two carriers. It is very much in the style of the new TV spot that just weeks ago was used to announced American's new livery and is narrated bv Mad Men's Jon Hamm.
The spot (edited in both 60 second and 15 second versions) by ad agency McCann/New York is called 'The New American Is Arriving" begins with words "It's time to make a change, to become better version of ourselves, to be greater than expected, and more than you hope for." It compares the history of the two airlines beginning in 1926 up until today, and shows a past riddled with small mergers leading up to the recent merger. It also shares the many 'firsts' between the two airlines such as the first loyalty clubs and the first female pilot.

American also rolled out a print adas part of the campaign, which highlights the increased amount of choices the combination of the two airlines will offer passengers. To back this claim, the ad features several positive quotes about the merger from leading industry analysts and journalists.
