The airline released the video to coincide with its “Love Connection” promotion, which ran in a number of Asian countries from November to February, and included competitions with free flight giveaways. Though this particular video is SFW, VietJet has in the past run into controversy for its reputation of being the “bikini airline.” For example, in January 2018, it ran into trouble when it sent women in hot-pants and bikini tops on a flight to accompany the Vietnamese football (soccer) team.
