Delta - Parallel Reality
Starting from the middle of this year, Delta passengers departing from Detroit will be taking part in the airline’s frst ‘Parallel Reality’ experience.
In an innovation that sounds like something that was predicted in the science fction flm, ‘Minority Report’, multiple customers will see personalized content tailored to their unique journey on a single digital screen – at the exact same time and in their preferred language.

Developed in partnership with tech company Misapplied Sciences (in which Delta is an investor), the technology works as follows:
After security in Detroit, travellers will see a Parallel Reality display. Participating customers (the technology is opt in) can scan their boarding pass and select their preferred language.
Every customer will then see personalized, in-language messages – tailored just to them – as they walk past the digital screen. These messages may include personalized wayfnding, fight information or updates, boarding time, the nearest Delta Sky Club or even upgrade/standby status.
Geekwire has a good write up of the launch announcement, which happened at CES in Las Vegas. The website calls the technology ‘mind bending’ and says ‘it might sound like science fction.’
