The Pasar Seni station is an integrated rapid transit station in Kuala Lumpur that is served by the LRT Kelana Jaya Line and the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line.

SHADED PEDESTRIAN PATHWAY The existing pedestrian pathway from the Pasar Seni LRT is not fully utilized by pedestrian due to the visibility of the wide paved area

WIDE PAVED AREA People tend to use the open paved area. The paved area is as wide as 6m to welcome people coming down from LRT via staircase or escalator

LACK OF SENSE OF THE SPACE The site only acts as a passage to get to their intended destination. This is due to the lack of placemaking characteristics that can give unique identity to the area.

LACK OF SEATING Seating makes a successful place. People will not stof if there is no well-shaded seating area provided.

RIVER OF LIFE They are more attached to the river, River of Life has better results in placemaking.

ILLEGAL PARKING There are parking area at the Central Market nearby but people prefer to park illegally on the pedestrian pavement curb to avoid parking fees BROKEN SHADING DEVICE The pedestrian pathway that was suppose to be shaded all the way to the other side of the road but it is not well maintained.

The canopy walk is used merely as a linkage from LRT station to the streets

Several retail below Hotel Geo, e.g. sundry shop, F&B (Texas Chicken), fashion boutique

People of different age groups and gender flock the space daily

Occasionally used as informal resting spots without proper seating area

Refuge for the homeless and beggars
●
Underused potential spaces such as the boulevard abutting canopy walk and the deck on the side overlooking River of Life lacking any form of activities

Forgotten space project in London The proposal aims to transform the flyover undercarriage through the promotion of art from members of the community. Artists from all levels would have the opportunity to create and display their work.

Located inside the VivoCity shopping mall in Singapore. Erected as part of the building’s interior ceiling that creates a connection to other part of the shopping mall. The bright green colours provide an interesting contrast with the surrounding design without the feeling of isolation or disconnection.
