Everyone loves to see antique furniture, ancient jewellery, but it is often difficult to catch all historical details, there for our professional guides and curators of the museum will assist you. The number of exponents are nothing compared to the dimension of historical periods covered by K. Akhvlediani museum. Museum exhibits unique world heritage painting “The Sea Landscape” (1895) by world famous painter of XIX century Aivazovsky. Another exponent worth seeing is an ancient frame of the “still of life” by Kirill Zdanevich, decorated with marvellous delicate roses.

One of the main treasures of the museum is the canvas collection the “Fairy Lado”, by incredible Lado Gudiashvili. A world known French art critic, Andre Salmon, once wrote: “Lado Gudiashvili’s exhibition for us became a discovery of extremely original painting technique of its epoch. He reflects his art in such an unusual way as bringing the audience inside the ancient Georgian fresco’s masterpieces … Lado is as a true representative of Georgian genuine art, a real artist, a pure Georgian”. If we look back at the history, the first museum was founded in 1890 and already at the end of the 19th century every school of art in Batumi had its own museum. In 1908, the city government decided to merge all museums into one city museum. The first director of this museum was Nikolai Gomon. That year was considered to be the date of foundation of contemporary K. Akhvlediani Museum. From February 1938 to May 1989, the director of the museum becomes Khariton Akhvlediani(1904-1992), a prominent scientist and public figure, the patron of the

HIKING AND TREKKING TIPS If you want to have a fun day in the outdoors and enjoy your day, you need to consider some essential tips.
44 AJARA Life Magazine
• Plan properly as it is an important factor to start with. Obtain trail maps, guidebooks, trail distance, estimated time required and any other information before you leave on a hike. You may use a GPS. • Check weather conditions and forecast and dress accordingly. Always dress in layers. • Consider the ability level of everyone in your group, when choosing a hike.
• Inform someone about your plans and when you expect to return. This is important as this could help with the rescue in case of any emergency. • Never hike alone. Always go with a friend and in group. • Keep your pack weight as light as possible. • Take plenty of water – 2 or 3 quarts per person. Staying hydrated will help maintain your energy level. • Start early so that you have enough time to enjoy your hike and to reach your destination on time. Plan to head back so you finish your hike well before dark. • Don’t hike so quickly and fast and save your energy. • Keep track of your progress on the map so that you know where you are at all times. • Bring a whistle on hikes. Three short whistles mean you are in trouble and need assistance. • Take a First Aid Kit and learn how to use everything in your first aid kit. • Apply sunscreen and wear sunglasses. Even on cloudy days you can get sunburn in a very short period of time. Sunburn can ruin any vacation. • Instruct your children to stay within your sight. Give them each a whistle to wear around their neck to be used only in an emergency. Agree on a location to meet. • Check with campground about their security policies. • Closely supervise your dog around children, other visitors and other dogs.
• Wild animals may look cute and harmless but they are very unpredictable and can be very territorial and protective. So, never approach them or feed them. Always be alert and aware of your surroundings. • Look out for snakes, spiders and other critters. Watch where you are walking, be careful when picking up sticks or rocks and look around before taking a seat. Again, snakes are usually more afraid of us, but if they feel threatened or if you make sudden movements they may strike. Stay calm and slowly move away from them. • Be careful where you are walking. Watch out for low branches and loose rocks. Stay away from steep cliffs and other drop off areas. • Don’t drink soda or alcohol when hiking. They will dehydrate you. • Replenish your ice often. Keep your food cold at all times to avoid food spoilage and food poisoning. • Practice good fire safety. • Clear area of all debris/avoid area with overhanging branches. • Construct a fire ring surrounded by rocks. • Have a bucket of water, shovel and a fire extinguisher nearby and ready to put out a fire. • NEVER build a fire near tents or other flammable items. • Never use flammable fluids to start a fire. • Never leave fire unattended. • Build a fire only as big as you need. • Make sure to completely extinguish fire.

I have been an investor with this company for a long period, and I can wholeheartedly say this is the best and most professional company. I can say they have delivered beyond my expectations. - Thomas G., Tel Aviv, Israel. Our hotels are listed on hundreds of travel and booking channels, including all the major ones like Expedia, Hotels.com, Orbitz, Priceline, Kayak, and more. We also work with hundreds of travel agencies and tour companies to keep our rooms filled to capacity. Every month, we calculate all the money earned through nightly bookings of each type of room in the hotel and split it 50/50 with the investors. We keep 50% of the nightly bookings revenue and distribute the other 50% to the hotel room investors according to each investor’s fair share of ownership among all the same type of rooms in the hotel.
For example, say you own a Deluxe Suite in one of our hotels and there are ten Deluxe Suites in the hotel. Every month we distribute 50% of the money made from all the Deluxe Suites in the hotel among the investors who own Deluxe Suites. So, you would receive 10% of the money being distributed because you own 1 of the 10 Deluxe Suites. Just to be clear, we split the nightly bookings revenue 50/50 with all the hotel room investors. This means if we book a room for $200 per night, we keep $100 and we send the other $100 to the investors. We cover 100% of all operating costs of the hotel from our portion. This includes advertising, payroll, cleanings, linens, materials, supplies, insurance, security, utilities, maintenance, damages, upgrades, and more. We literally cover EVERYTHING from our share. As an investor, you have ZERO out-of-pocket expenses the entire time you own the hotel room. We even budget for periodic upgrades and improvements from our share of the revenue, so you ALWAYS own a hotel room that is fresh, modern, and in perfect condition. Growing regional market Companies operating in Georgia can benefit from the growing regional market and various import substitution opportunities, specifically in the following industries: food processing, chemicals, plastics, construction materials, packaging, household goods, ceramic and glass products, etc. Low utility costs Currently, up to 80% of electricity is generated via hydropower plants, which gives Georgia possibility to have competitively priced energy – standard cost for 1 kwh is ~4.8-5 USD cents for 30-110 kv high voltage electricity. However factories consuming more than 3 million kwh per year can be registered as direct consumers and purchase electricity directly from energy producers. Source: investingeorgia.org
Steel & Aluminum Georgia’s current advantages in terms of handling large trans-shipment flows, low cost of power generation, existing raw materials and intermediate products provide opportunities for large industrial projects such as production of iron, aluminum and steel products. Georgia mines manganese and copper ores, and produces ferro alloys, largely for export (~230 mln USD). Additionally Georgia and neighboring countries export waste and scrap metals. However there are large imports of semi-finished and finished iron and steel products to Georgia (~450 mln USD) and neighboring countries. Currently Georgia transships raw materials (alumina and bauxite) for aluminum production from west (USA, Brazil, Jamaica etc.) to Central Asia. After smelting process, ready aluminum goes through Georgia to Europe, Turkey, USA etc. By using these transshipment flows and low cost of electricity, Georgia can integrate into a global value chain of aluminum production in both directions: • Upstream - production of aluminum form alumina • Downstream - production of fabricated and finished aluminum products, such as cans and other packaging materials, construction materials, wires and cables etc. Source: investingeorgia.org

The sector emerged in 2000s after Turkish investors and Georgian entrepreneurs began refurbishing old factories and engaging in cut, make, trim (CMT) activities for the local and export markets. Presently, there are more than 200 apparel manufacturing companies (both, Georgian and foreign investors) in Georgia, about 93% of which are micro-enterprises. Approximately 95% of apparel produced by investor companies is exported to Turkey and/or to the EU markets. During last years, several Georgian companies have also started production for export markets. At present, Georgian apparel sector is characterized with a whole range of benefits and investment opportunities, such as extremely cheap workforce (around 250 USD per month), Free Trade Agreements and proximity to the large export markets including EU, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, etc. Source: investingeorgia.org

Ajaruli khachapuri
It can easily be prepared at home even if you do not have any experience cooking. Ajarian Khachapuri is one of the iconic dishes of Georgia – the country, which is famous for denotative, delightful dishes. Khachapuri in Ajarian style comes in a different shape and is inspired by the shape of a boat - as Batumi is a coastal city and boating is part of its culture.

So, prepare your apron and kitchen tools and here we go: Georgian Cheese and Egg Bread Filled with melted cheese and topped with a runny egg, this flatbread is best eaten hot—tear off the crust and dunk it in the well of cheese and egg.
Ingredients 1 tsp. active dry yeast 1⁄4 tsp. sugar 1 tbsp. olive oil, plus more for greasing 1 1⁄4 cups flour, plus more for dusting 1 tsp. kosher salt 2 1⁄4 cups shredded Muenster cheese (14 oz.) 1 cup crumbled feta cheese (6 oz.) 2 eggs 4 tbsp. unsalted butter, cubed
Instructions Combine yeast, sugar, and 2⁄3 cup water heated to 115° in a bowl; let stand until foamy, about 10 minutes. Add oil, flour, and salt; mix with a wooden spoon until a soft dough forms. Transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a lightly greased bowl and cover loosely with plastic wrap; set in a warm place until doubled in size, about 45 minutes. Place a pizza stone on a rack in lower third of oven. Heat oven to 500° for 1 hour. Combine cheeses in a bowl; set aside. Punch down dough and divide in half. On a piece of lightly floured parchment paper, roll half of dough into a 10” circle about 1⁄8” thick. Spread a quarter of the cheese mixture over dough, leaving a 1⁄2” border. On one side of the circle, tightly roll dough about a third of the way toward the center. Repeat on the opposite end. There should be a 2”-3” space between the two rolls. Pinch the open ends of the rolls together and twist to seal, making a boat shape; place another quarter of the cheese mixture in the middle; repeat with remaining dough and cheese. Transfer boats on paper to stone; bake until golden brown, 14–16 minutes. Crack 1 egg into the center of each boat. Return to oven until egg white is slightly set, 3–4 minutes. Place 2 tbsp. butter on each bread; serve hot. AJARA Life Magazine 75
