Media-Lines Olympic Village, Munich, West Germany By Hans Hollein of Vienna The media lines are paths of portable cables 3.3m in height. Two light bands (in the form of high-tension cables) follow the medialine system and illuminate
the path for the pedestrian and the structure itself. Along the system there are infra-rays that serve to heat the areas occupied by the residents in cool seasons. During warm seasons, the system can cool down the occupied areas by blowing cold air. Bigger spaces can be roofed when needed. Also the system supports sound installations, loud speakers, as well as installation points for additional illumination of floodlights and projectors.

“The MEDIA-LINES are a system of environmental conditioning, make the pedestrian areas useable also in bad climate conditions.
