HIGHT POINT MARKET Trip to High Point Market was not just a memorable experience, but also a very educational one. Visiting some of the best vendors really opened up my eyes to so many possibilities. Meeting people associated with our profession who are not interior designers, showed me just how many paths we can take after graduation. Some of the possibilities include art production, product development. finish selection, showroom design, lighting design, fabric design, sales and many other opportunities for designers to implement their skills and formal training.

VANGUARD Vanguard is one of the vendors we visited that help me realize that furniture design is potentially one of the areas I am interested in exploring. Not only we had a great time touring and exploring amazing furniture collections including Michael Weiss, but also we were introduced to latest inventions in finishes and treated to lunch Where i ran into my boss from my summer internship. Michael Weiss’s work really caught my eye. His use of color and style are very elegant, and I would love to join his team one day. Also briefly want to mention a fabric demonstration we came across by the company name Inside Out. This fabric does not observe liquid and could be wiped off immediately after a spill and stay clean. This is truly “performance redefined”.

UNIVERSAL FURNITURE We started our tour with an amazing breakfast and went on to our journey though a very well put together presentation. We explored several collections starting with mid level to high end. Collections were stylish, displaying a great level of professionalism and as well as impeccable sense of style. I do photography as a hobby and was able to take a lot of great photographs, because not only the furniture was tastefully designed put together, but the space itself was just beautiful.

CURREY Now, this was a true delight! This was a magical place. Luxurious, stylish, very high end. This was another place I thought to myself “I would love to work here�. I walked around and just could not stop taking photographs. This even was catered as well, so I have to mention we were spoiled that day.
