Police say 21-year-old Sabrina Corrier and 27-year-old Jermaine Turner are scheduled to appear in court Monday. Officials said in a statement Friday that they are charged with four counts of murder, robbery with aggravation, and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. Police have said the boys were walking along a road last month when the suspects pushed them into the apartment of accounting clerk Marquis Hamilton. Authorities said they all were shot after the suspects’ demands were not met. The Associated Press
Honduran government says son of former president arrested in Haiti in anti drug operation
TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras _ The Honduran government and former President Porfirio Lobo have confirmed the arrest of Lobo’s son in Haiti in an apparent anti-drug operation carried out by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and Haitian authorities. A government statement Thursday said Fabio Lobo Lobo was arrested Wednesday night in Haiti and taken to New York to appear before a judge. Porfirio Lobo said Thursday in an interview with the government’s Channel 8 television that he could not say whether his son was innocent or guilty. He said he was facing a situation that he would never wish on any parent. Lobo said he hopes his son can prove his innocence. As a father, he added, he is very hurt.

BALTIMORE _ The top prosecutor in Baltimore says all six officers charged in the police-custody death of an African-American man have been indicted by a grand jury. State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby made the announcement Thursday. The charges returned by the grand jury were similar to the charges Mosby announced about three weeks ago. Mosby has said Freddie Gray’s neck was broken because he was injured while being handcuffed, shackled and placed head-first into a police van. She says his pleas for medical attention were repeatedly ignored. Grey was arrested April 12. He died in a hospital a week later and became a symbol of what protesters say was police brutality against blacks.

The naked truth: Man gets angry about overbooked flight and strips off clothes at airport gate
CHARLOTTE, N.C. _ After dressing down a gate agent about an overbooked flight, an angry would-be passenger apparently decided he would get undressed. WBTV in Charlotte reports (http://bit.ly/1HkAYxZ ) one witness says the unidentified man was trying to board a US Airways flight to Jamaica from Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Wednesday. Sherry Ketchie said the man still had his clothes on while he was yelling at a gate agent. Soon, however, Ketchie said the man began removing clothes and saying nothing as security agents arrived to surround him. She said the man stood naked in the concourse for about an hour. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said the man was taken by emergency personnel for treatment of what was termed “a medical issue’’ and will not face charges.

Former Haiti prime minister submits paperwork to run for president shortly before deadline Sophia Martelly's bid to run for a Senate seat was rejected by the electoral council in a move heralded by political analysts as a sign the body was independent.
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti _ Former Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe has submitted papers to run for president shortly before the election office's deadline, after repeatedly saying he had no plans to seek Haiti's top political position. A few hundred supporters of Lamothe, who resigned under pressure late last year amid a political standoff with the last Parliament, chanted and cheered as he arrived by motorcade late Wednesday at an electoral office in the capital. Some supporters of other presidential hopefuls filing their candidacy papers also gathered outside the gates.
It's far from clear Lamothe will be cleared to run as the candidate of the Peyizan political group. His critics insist he is not eligible. But Salim Succar, Lamothe's adviser when he was prime minister, asserted a judge gave the former official the necessary “discharge'' to run for office again since there is no functioning legislature. “They cannot hold the dysfunctionality of Parliament against him,'' Succar said. President Michel Martelly is ruling by decree in the absence of a legislature. He replaced Lamothe with veteran politician Evens Paul after Parliament dissolved in early January amid a political stalemate. Martelly is due to leave office in 2016 after a presidential election scheduled for October.
“This is about keeping the country moving forward. The progress needs to continue,'' Lamothe told The Associated Press after he handed in his paperwork about three hours before the deadline.
Martelly was supposed to call elections in 2011 for a majority of Senate seats, the entire Chamber of Deputies and local offices. Those long-delayed elections are now scheduled for August.
Asked when he changed his mind about running for president, he shrugged and kept greeting partisans.
Lamothe has said his 31-month tenure was the longest for a Haitian prime minister and asserted the country made significant gains during that time, particularly considering the 2010 earthquake that flattened much of the capital and surrounding areas.
Other candidates who have submitted papers to run for president include Jude Celestin, the last election cycle's government-backed candidate, and Maryse Narcisse, the leader of the Fanmi Lavalas party that former twotime President Jean-Bertrand Aristide founded. Officials said there were roughly 50 candidates who hope to run. A board will review would-be candidates and verify they meet various constitutional requirements, including not holding foreign citizenship. Last week, New York-born first lady

38 migrants stranded Haiti justice ministry for weeks aboard US grants appeal of abuse Coast Guard ship are case against US citizen returned to Cuba who runs orphanage
HAVANA _ The U.S. Coast Guard says 38 migrants from Cuba who had been stuck in a legal limbo aboard a U.S. Coast Guard ship have been sent home to Cuba. Coast Guard Petty Officer Mark Barney says the group was repatriated Sunday morning, ending weeks of waiting. The migrants detained in April ordinarily have been quickly repatriated under an agreement between the U.S. and Cuba intended to discourage risky sea journeys by people seeking to reach the United States. But a U.S. official said Cuban authorities had balked at accepting the 38 because they had left the country legally, with tourist visas from the Caribbean nation of St. Lucia. The migrants were held on board the Coast Guard cutter Vigilant until the situation was resolved.
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti _ Haiti's justice ministry is re-examining a case against a U.S. citizen who has been accused of physically and sexually abusing boys in an orphanage that he has run for decades in the poor country. Michael Geilenfeld is an Iowa native who started the St. Joseph's Home for Boys in the Haitian capital in the 1980s. He was arrested in September but freed from custody last month after a judge dismissed the case following a brief trial that was not attended by the five accusers, now adults. Justice Minister Pierre-Richard Casimir says an appeal was granted. He said Monday the prosecutor “didn't do the case correctly'' and was sanctioned. He says another trial is needed. Defence lawyer Alain Lemithe says he will “go back to court to defend Mr. Geilenfeld's interests.''

Musical Ambassador Tasha T Participates in “Read Across Jamaica” Tour The second day of the tour they collaborated with the Jamaica Teachers Association and visited several schools including Hope Valley Experimental, The St. Benedicts Catholic, Port Royal and Harbour View Primary. This stop was extra special for Tasha T because a family member attends Port Royal Primary.
As the Musical Ambassador for Read Across Jamaica Foundation Tasha T joined the12th Annual Bus Tour celebrating literacy in Jamaica W.I during Educational Week. Since 2003 the Read Across Jamaica Literacy Project has served over 25,000 students and provided over 50,000 books and school supplies to children of Jamaica. On May 4, 2015 the bus tour made its first stop at the Ports-
mouth Primary School in Portmore where she read to the students and offered words of encouragement. From Portmore she travelled to Mustard Seed in Kingston where she visited and read to more delighted children. Excited about the first leg of the tour Tasha T said "the students were great and we had lots of fun." After a successful first day with Ja'nice Wisdom, CEO of Read Across Jamaica Foundation, they sorted books and supplies for the next round of school visits.
Day three began at Sankofa Prep School in St. Thomas where she was inspired and expressed her happiness at the children’s willingness to learn the Amharic Alphabets. Tasha T shared a song from her Real Talk Album called “Halemese Selassie”. She said that “visiting this school was an uplifting experience because the program at the school is unique and that it endeavours to provide education to children based on a afrocentric identity and perspective .” She would like to thank Denise “Isis” Miller for introducing her to the school back in February 2015. and she said “It was amazing to realize that the chil-
dren remembered me and my song,”Educate Yourself” which is the theme song for Read Across Jamaica Foundation.” On that day Tasha T invited recording artists Asante Amen, and Vania Colours to take part in the tour and they were very inspiring to the children at Sankofa. Following the school tour Tasha T spent time in the studio courtesy of Entertainment to Reggae Public Relations (Reggae PR). She also got a chance to record at the Anchor Studios in Kingston, with Fire House Band, and “Phatta” who is one of Jamaica’s premier sound engineers and had the honour of recording at One Pop Music Studio for, Sly Dunbar and Paul “Patchy” Wright. Before leaving the island Tasha T made sure to visit the studios of CVM TV where she performed, was interviewed and featured on Entertainment Prime TV.

Award winning radio presenter “Catman” hosts new season of Vision Newspapers Caribbean Countdown in Toronto radio presenter in England. Q: You said you won the award for the best radio presenter in 2013. How did that feel? A: It felt great but not only that I won an award in 2011 and 2012 for the Vision Newspaper a paper that i created. Alot of people don’t even know that i am the man behind the Vision Newspaper. I created the paper to help give an outlet to the young artists that i promote. Q: Whats next on your agenda are there any major projects in the works?
International radio presenter Catman has been in Toronto for the past few weeks hosting a new season of our Caribbean Countdown TV show set in Toronto. The top ten reggae music video countdown show highlights reggae artists, Caribbean businesses and profesionals that are making a difference and impacting lives in their local community. The host travels across the Greater Toronto Area visiting Caribbean communities and thanking them for their support in making Vision Newspaper Canada’s bi-weekly publication a success. He also makes an appeal for young reggae artists who need help getting radio airplay, video airplay and thier press releases published to contact Vision Newspaper for the help they deserve. Catman host his own reggae radio program in London, England once a week on the UK’s best reggae radio station “City Lock Radio” He is on the air every Monday from 4pm - 6pm ET in London England and is also on the air in Fairfield Connetticutt every Thursday at 3pm during King Louie’s popular “Reggae with the King” radio show where he delivers the weeks

artists right away.
Last year Catman won the award for the #1 reggae radio DJ in the entire United Kingdom. Catman’s “God Alone” radio show is one the premier reggae radio show supporting reggae music and highlighting new artists in England.
Q: Who are some of these young artists you have worked with?
We asked Catman a few questions about himself and his music career. . Q: What are some of the highs and lows you have experienced in this business? A: 10 years ago i was at a low. I had to take some time out the business. For a couple years I sat back and i figured out how to handle the business when i got back in because its tough here in England. I decided that promoting artists was the way to go. I wanted to go back to radio but i didn’t want to play top 10, I wanted to make a difference. So I hooked up with Lefty B on the radio and changed the whole format to play young upcoming artists. I started doing live interviews with Ellise Kelly from Irie FM and she started promoting that i was looking for young artists to work with. I started getting emails from young
A: The first artists i took to the street was Lil Hero. From there I started working with I-Octane. I ve been working with I-Octane from scratch. I was the first person to play I-Octane on the radio in England. Back then i had people calling me and telling me not to work with him. They told me he wasn’t going to go anywhere because he was a rasta. I didn’t listen i just kept promoting him the same way. I worked with Romain Virgo next and then D Angel, Zaumunda, Loyal Flames, Angele Smith, Chris Demontague, Jah Bouks and so much more. D Angel was one of the hardest to work with because she has a negative stereotype. I use to get alot of phone calls about this and that but i paid it no attention. I always have to give thanks to Ellise Kelly because she helped to start the movement. Now i have my own name. Last year i won the award for the number one
A: I want to launch a magazine. I use to have a magazine in America called Reggae Frenzy. I lost contact with my business partner there and the magazine died. I would like to get one back again. I would also like to find another hit maker like I-Octane to promote. Its been bothering me. If i could find another hit maker to promote like I-Octane id be happy. Im also involed with a street festival that we hold in St Ann Jamaica every year with Vision Newspaper and S-Q Records. Thanks for the interview but i do have to tell anyone who is aspiring out there that its all about hard work. I came from a small community in St Ann, Jamaica. I worked hard and i made it. You can make it too if you just work hard and leave your mark on life. You dont have to be a millionaire, you just have to leave your stamp.
If you are a young artist in need of radio airplay and international promotion email catmanpromo@ gmx.com Season 2 of The Vision Newspaper Caribbean Countdown will be airing through Rogers and Bell cable providers in the summer of 2015.
Music Versatile Urban Recording Artist, Kisco, Colabs With Turbulence On New Single “Star Girl”
Vision/ Spring 2015
The single is expected to hit iTunes Tuesday, May 12th.
More About Kisco Andrew Walcott, better known as Canada’s versatile urban recording artist, Kisco, was born and raised in Waterhouse, Jamaica. In 1997 the young Kisco had the opportunity to immigrate to Canada, where he found his second home in Toronto.
Canada’s versatile reggae act, Kisco, is back in 2015 with a brand new single titled “Star Girl”. Produced by Jamaica’s own Jabarri Recordz, the single also features reggae’s superstar, Turbulence. The opportunity came to the table at the end of 2014 during Turbulences Canada tour. The two were discussing various aspects of the music industry leading Kisco to sing
a piece of his upcoming song. Turbulence knew instantly that this would become a hit and exchanged his number with the upcoming Canadian star. With a classic dub, reggae sound and catchy lyrics, the song is bound to make its way through the reggae waves. Released on Soundcloud last month, the single has received a substantial amount of support.

His interest in music came about during his high school years, attending St Mary’s Secondary School in Pickering, Ontario. It was in 2010, while still learning the ropes in the music industry, that Kisco released his first single “Rich Dis Year”. The beat combined a perfect mixture of uplifting lyrics, urban drums and electric guitars which helped the artist garner a lot of media attention culminating in his video airing on RogersTV in Toronto. Later in

2010, the success of the single lead him to open for Joe Budden in Kingston, Ontario’s NV Nightclub. Since then, Kisco has continued to release singles like “Wat A Gwan”, “Luv It When We Sexy” and “Shy Girl” while sharing the stage with established acts such as Kurupt, Ghostface Killah, Peter Jackson, Crooked Fingaz, Demarco, Beenie Man, Popcaan and Mr. Vegas and touring with Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch. More recently, the upcoming urban star collaborated with Reggaes Star, Turbulence, for his new single “Star Girl”, with a video currently in the making. This single showcases a different side of this young promising act, yet again demonstrating the artist’s versatility. That being said, the artist remains active in studio recording his first promotional E.P, “My Life, My Destiny”.

Meet Andre De Grasse, the future of Canadian sprinting blocks. By the end of the summer, De Grasse was running 10.5, good enough to earn a scholarship to Coffeyville Community College in Kansas. De Grasse dedicated himself to improving his grades, and credited Sharpe for giving him a “second chance to do something special.'' Sharpe, whose twin daughters Taylor and Sommer run track at George Mason University in Virginia, said De Grasse just needed some direction. He described his high school crowd as the one a guidance counsellor had “bumped into the college stream and they wandered around the building all day.'' De Grasse would transfer to USC after two years at Coffeyville.
TORONTO _ Sitting in the stands at a high school track meet in Toronto three years ago, Tony Sharpe couldn't help but notice Andre De Grasse. It was the start of the senior boys 100 metres and seven runners were coiled tightly in their starting blocks, all sleek tights and expensive spikes. The eighth runner was De Grasse, who stood, facing sideways, watching the starter like he was waiting to see the drop of an arm to signal the start. His attire: baggy basketball shorts and borrowed shoes. “The gun goes off, and Andre turns, just kinda swings around like a shortstop and runs down the track in 10.9 (seconds),'' Sharpe said. “As a coach, I know 10.9. You can't do 10.9 in basketball shorts, starting sideways.'' De Grasse ran that day on a whim, invited to the meet by a high school friend. It was the turning point for the Markham, Ont., teen who was hanging with the wrong crowd and, just weeks away from graduating, had no idea where he was headed. Sharpe had a pretty good idea.
Three years later, the 20-year-old De Grasse is on pace to be Canada's greatest sprinter ever. At the Pac 12 conference championships last weekend, he broke the Canadian record in the 200 metres, and ran 9.97 in the 100, the fastest clocked by a Canadian in 16 years. Sprinters can go their entire careers dreaming about breaking 10 seconds, and never do it. De Grasse has done it in just three years, and is now the third-fastest Canadian in history over the distance. The two men ahead of him: Donovan Bailey and Bruny Surin. “Yeah, this kid is pretty special,'' said Sharpe, who spent the week fielding calls from agents, who can sign De Grasse after his senior year at USC. “I went on record when he went to USC and said 'This is the most talented kid I've seen in 40 years of track and field.' Well, we're seeing it now.
a tough schedule of classes and training. He wasn't surprised, he said, by his times at the Pac 12 meet. “My coach has been telling me I could run these times,'' he said. He hadn't clicked on the most recent world track and field rankings to see his name. “Nah, but people were telling me I was second in the 200,'' he said _ like it happens every day. “I feel like I'm still the underdog, I've only been doing the sport for three years, so I'm still learning stuff.'' That's the part of De Grasse that Sharpe loves best.
“He's not normal. He's exceptional.''
“He's the most humble athlete I've ever come across,'' the coach said. “He's just so, so gifted, but he doesn't really seem to understand what it means to him. He's just a real, real humble soul.''
He's also nonchalant about his accomplishments on the track. The sociology student has been more focused on school this week, juggling
Sharpe introduced himself to De Grasse at that track meet three years ago at York University, offering to teach him how to use starting
“I used to laugh at the track sometimes, I've got this new toy,'' Sharpe said. “I was laughing yesterday with Caryl Smith (Gilbert, his USC coach), saying he'll run down the track and I'll time him and he'll come back and say 'How was that one?' I'll say 'Uh, it OK.' And inside you're going 'Oh my GOD.' He has no idea. No idea what he can do.'' Sharpe has some idea. Analyzing rates of progression, he believes if De Grasse continues to mature and get stronger, “there's no reason he can't run mid-9.5s.'' Usain Bolt's world record is 9.58. Bailey's world record in 1996 was 9.84. Why set limits? “It's a stretch, but if he stays healthy and continues to improve, I don't see what those limits are. I don't now what his limits are,'' Sharpe said. “I might say: sky.'' By Lori Ewing THE CANADIAN PRESS THE CANADIAN PRESS/AP/Alex Gallardo

POWERFUL FILM ‘MEDITERRANEA’ HUMANIZES MIGRANTS
Vision / Spring 2015
Cannes film festival pays homage to late designer Oscar de la Renta by Ryan Curtis, is a behindthe-scenes look at the first posthumous exhibit of the designer's work at the SCAD college of art and design, with which the late designer was closely involved.
It may be the most topical film at Cannes _ but “Mediterranea'' _ a searing account of a desperate African migrant who travels by boat from Burkina Faso to Italy _ is not just pulled from the headlines. It's been years in the making and is based on a true story. First time director Jonas Carpignano _ who's half African-American, half-Italian _ evoked the real-life experiences of his roommate and lead actor in the film, Koudous Seihon. Seihon witnessed shootings, race riots, violence and faced near-constant discrimination after he took the perilous trip by foot, car, bus and boat to southern Italy as a 20-year-old father seeking to support his
“When Oscar de la Renta passed there was an outpouring of love,'' said Curtis, adding that he relished the chance to pay homage to the designer via the prism of the college.
family. Despite its small 1 million-euro ($1.1 million) budget, Carpignano's film, which was screened at the Critics Week, has already garnered great attention for its highly personal portrayal of Europe's great migrant crisis. “We're constantly bombarded and desensitized (about migrants). That's why I wanted to make a film about this, to give people something to latch on to,'' Carpignano said. “It doesn't help to constantly group immigrants as just migrants coming over. There has to be more of a personal angle.'' _ By Thomas Adamson, Twitter.com/ ThomasAdamsonAP
The spirit of Oscar de la Renta lives on every day at the Cannes Film Festival. Though the Dominican Republic-born fashion designer passed away last year aged 82 after battling cancer, his landmark fashion designs continue to dominate the red carpet _ from Emma Stone's black sheer tulle gown at the “The Irrational Man'' photocall to Aishwarya
Rai's maroon silk number and Karlie Kloss' incredible blue fishtail gown at the De Grisogono soiree. Now a documentary film has been screened at Cannes, called “Ovation for Oscar,'' paying homage to his work. Featuring US Vogue Editor Anna Wintour and his widow, Annette de la Renta, the 20-minute film, directed
The film shows the creation of the exhibit through the eyes of a bright-eyed young student, who looks in wonder at the myriad designs _ including Hillary Clinton's famous red dress that graced the cover of Vogue in 1998. Each dress that he created, the film notes, captures the unique essence of each woman it was tailored for. “He's one of the last old masters. He loved each individual woman, and that's his genius,'' Curtis said. The Associated Press
