Makeup has evolved dramatically in the last few years. In 2023, less makeup is more. In the summer season, due to the hotter temperatures especially; makeup is less full coverage and more light coverage, opting for more of a natural look. To achieve the light coverage look, one should be considerate with how much makeup to put on. For example, if you use two pumps of foundation; you should either use one pump or use no foundation at all. Although, in achieving the “no makeup” makeup look, you can skip some makeup products; there are some you should always products. There are some you should always use while creating the perfect look such as: face primer, concealer, contour, highlighter, setting powder, mascara, and setting spray. With all the listed products, it allows one to create a base look that can look perfect by itself. However, if you want to add more products, like bronzer, blush, foundation, or even some eyeliner, just remember less is what works the best for the “no makeup” makeup look! You can find all sorts of “no makeup” makeup looks on YouTube and TikTok.

Just like makeup, nails have also evolved dramatically in the last few years. 2023 has a ton of new nail looks and colors that are trendy, yet reliable. First, let’s talk color. The colors that are going to be the boldest this year are reds, pinks, and even some citrus tones. For the red tone, the perfect reliable tone would be Pantones Color of the Year “Vivia Magenta”. Although the color is considered a magenta, the tone appears to have a red defining color, which allows it to look like a dark crimson red. The second color is pink. When choosing the perfect pink, you should try and stay away from darker pinks and pastel pinks as those colors were used more in previous seasons. When picking the perfect pink, you should have a Barbie mentality, meaning you choose from light pinks to hot pinks. Lastly, citrus tones. Citrus tones are the most reliable tones for the summer season when going bold. They aren’t just a crowd pleaser, but there also a breath of fresh air when going bold. As everyone opts for more of a red or pink, citrus tones will make you pop out. Although, if you do not want to go so go adventurous with your color choice, milky tones are the best new trendy way to stay subtle, yet different. Milky tones allow one to choose different and digestible colors to feel a sense of a nude relatable tone.

Next, let’s move on to the new trendy looks for nail designs. The first design is the minimalist statements. The minimalist design is very easy to digest and utilizes a sense of elegance. Light designs allow the minimalist statement to feel subtle yet different, creating an easy-going nail look. Although the minimalist nail looks look subtle, they are also elegant and divine, creating an almost royal like nail that feels different yet prestigious. The second nail look is the French tips. Though there are different designs for the French tips, there are two that stand out the most for the summer and 2023. The two French tip designs are the micro-French tips and the regular French tips. The micro-French tips are the new French tips that are a subtle nail that have a minimalist side. The regular French tips are reliable and persistent when it comes to nails,. Although the microFrench tips and the regular French tips are often used for a subtle design; they can be adapted into more of a bold look using the previously discussed colors, allowing the nails to be flexible. The last design is jewelry for your nails.

The jewelry for your nails look is a 3-D concept that utilizes pearls, silver, gold, chains, and more. The design creates a new way of styling nails using “jewelry” that allows for the nail to pop out and feel bold and different.

In the summer, accessories tend to become more compact and smaller. Whether it is jewelry, bags, or makeup, the items seem to become quainter. For jewelry, one would move further away from chunkier jewelry as it’s harder to adapt to in the summer weather. Although chunkier jewelry could work in some outfits and aesthetics, smaller jewelry is reliable and better suited for the season. Some trendy summer accessories this year are hoop earrings, chains, and pearl jewelry. Hoop earrings are an amazing way to bring an outfit together. They are different and always brings the glamour that an outfit might desperately need. Chains aren’t necessarily a trendy item, as they always are reliable and work an any season, however, smaller chains are the best option to wear in the summer season. Lastly, pearl jewelry is again a relative accessory in any season that allows one to feel more elegant.
