There are a thousand reasons why The Marbella is the best place to live! The location is perfect, the staff is capable and professional, the dining is culinary mastery, catering to various tastes and preferences, and the award-winning service is outstanding. You can maintain your healthy lifestyle with our fitness center, classes, and healthy dining choices.
But the real reason Marbella is so special is its residents, who are the best ambassadors for this community. They all come from varied backgrounds, and each story is unique. Here, people are kind, friendly, supportive, encouraging, and inclusive.
The Marbella has plentiful activities, so there’s something for everyone. If you haven’t already, please read the morning briefing and take advantage of our chair yoga, cardio circuit, or water aerobics. Try your hand at the puzzle
in the Art Room, enjoy a cup of coffee in the Venetian Room, peruse our Library, sign up for a lecture, come to a Happy Hour Social, pet a service dog in training, indulge in a treat at the Ice Cream Social, experience The Marbella’s vibrant culinary scene, try your hand at poker or bridge, attend a themed night or dinner to name a few. If you are a new resident or a longtime resident, introduce yourself if you see a new face. Try a new activity. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and get involved!
You’re invited to enjoy a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres hosted by Mark Maran, our resident REALTOR® representing The Marbella at Pelican Bay Realty. We will mingle after Mark introduces the new residents before heading in for dinner. Please join us on the West Deck on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 5:30 PM for our New Owner Social. Please RSVP to the Dining Room at 239.593.2331 by Feb. 26.

KNOW YOUR NEIGHBORS
Happy Retirement, John Eckhardt!
I was born and raised in Baraboo, WI. After moving to Naples in 1992, my family opened The Coffee Beanery at The Marketplace of Pelican Bay. Because four family members worked at the coffee café, my wife Sandy decided we had too much family in such a small space. She found an ad in the Naples Daily News for a front desk agent at The Marbella. She thought I would be a good fit, and that would mean one less family member at the store. I walked into The Marbella in July 2003, completed an application, and was hired by the managing director, Barry Trice, on the spot. I was sent for a drug test

and started work the following day for $10.00/ hour. Over the past 22 years, I have worked with four directors, five resident managers, and numerous front desk agents. As the front desk supervisor, I initiated the Know Your Neighbor story for the monthly newsletter I wrote for 13 years. I also assisted in hiring and training staff and doing the weekly schedule. There were many highlights, such as the wonderful residents, staff, and managers. I have formed lifelong friendships with many. Some challenges have been hurricanes, medical and maintenance responses, and schedule conflicts. I leave The Marbella after 22 years with the feeling that I have contributed in a small way to its success, and I am grateful to have been a part of it!

All cars will need to be moved in preparation for a flood event. A nearby church will allow us to temporarily use their parking lot to store cars until the storm passes and is clear. Ron Duncan will assist in shuttling residents back after moving their cars to safety. A signup sheet will be in the mail room. If you are an out-of-town resident, we have an agreement with Preferred Valet Service to move your car and return it when it is safe. Rob Wieschowski is the owner, and his number is 239.537.1442. The front desk will need your keys. Whether you are staying in Naples or will be away at any time this summer, we need to know the following: name, unit #, cell #, email, and parking spot #. Be on the lookout for a flyer named Your Evacuation Plan; there is some additional info we need. Please complete and return it to Veronica.
