MAY 4-7

LA PALMA PARK

Corner of Habor Blvd. and La Palma Ave.

One of Orange County’s oldest celebrations of Mexican culture, the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta began with a small group of dedicated parents and educators from Fremont Jr. High and Anaheim High School. While this event continues to grow in both size and scope, it remains a family afair at heart. The Cinco de Mayo Fiesta is still managed by the family of founder Joel A. Guerena, despite his passing in 1997. The extended Guerena family, alongside countless volunteers, spend hundreds of hours preparing for this four-day carnival, now a staple of Anaheim cultural inclusion. Four decades later, this event has transformed from a few families with booths, to a vibrant festival featuring amusement park rides and an entertainment stage for folklorico, mariachi, and other popular music groups.

The 51st Annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta ofers a variety of activities, scholarship awards, and performances for the entire family to enjoy.

The Cinco de Mayo Fiesta continues to be a time where family and friends can come together to celebrate and create new memories together. Volunteers make this event possible and new volunteers are always welcome. If you would like to get involved, see the list of performers and vendors, or for more event information, see contact information below.

Get F.I.I.T. for Kindergarten

At the Tiny Tots Academy, we help our kids get F.I.I.T. for Kindergarten by building their FOUNDATIONAL skills, encouraging them to INTERACTION with kids their age, and having a safe space where they can use their IMAGINATION, all while implementing classroom TRADITIONS

The Tiny Tots Academy is a recreational program for children ages 3 to 5 that jumpstarts their Kindergarten readiness. Our goal is to cultivate an educational environment that develops your child’s love of learning. Through hands-on experiences both inside and outside of the classroom, we understand the importance of socialization and social-emotional wellness in each child’s path to academic and developmental success. Our curriculum focuses on language, literacy, creative arts, social and emotional development, and STEM. By providing each child with a strong foundation in kindergarten basics and strong routine-building skills, we approach learning by building self-confidence and the ability to work with their peers!

Springtime Cleanup Services

If spring-cleaning is on your to-do list, we can help!

Your neighborhood can receive large dumpster bins for disposal of large unwanted items such as old mattresses and appliances that do not fit in regular trash containers. The program is free and available once to any neighborhood, annually. Neighborhood cleanups also help to bring neighbors together and instill a sense of community. Let Anaheim Neighborhood Services staff assist you with coordinating a neighborhood cleanup!

Did you miss your annual neighborhood cleanup? Not ready for a neighborhood-wide clean up or have just a few bulky items to dispose of? No problem. Republic Services provides a year-round and free Bulky Item Collection service. Each household is eligible to receive up to three bulky item pickups per calendar year, with a limit of 20 items per pickup.

The Future OC River Walk Design it with us!

OC River Walk is a vision to transform 2-miles of the Santa Ana River Corridor between Orangewood and the Anaheim Coves (north of Ball Rd.) into an iconic regional destination for recreation and entertainment. We hope to transform the area into a robust public amenity and create multiple benefits that will promote community, connectivity, recreation, and nature! We are currently working on a Master Plan for future elements including a pedestrian/bicycle bridge, new trail connection to Anaheim Coves, river bank modification, river impoundments to bring water into the river, art / educational elements, etc.

Visit ocriverwalk.com

Take our survey, and join us at future community meetings to give your input so we can make the river a place to connect, recreate, and gather with each other!

New!

Pickleball Court AT PERALTA PARK!

As pickleball continues to grow in popularity, a new pickleball court was installed in February adjacent to the basketball court at Peralta Park.

Now Open! Aloe Promenade

Some features include:

ART SCULPTURES

SEATING AREA

OUTDOOR GAMES

FOOSBALL | BOCCE BALL | CORNHOLE

The newly unveiled park brings much needed green space to this area. It’s part of the A-Town community and it complements the nearby Aloe Greens Park that opened in 2020. Lennar Corp. built and maintains both parks. These parks are great examples of the green spaces that can come with new housing communities. There are a total of 67 parks across our city, Aloe Promenade is one of five parks in the Platinum Triangle. Aloe Promenade is located at 1402 Meridian St.
