Atlantic Superbike championship 2014 New Challenges Our History & Our Vision For 2014 As ARL Continues to grow we look back on our last 6 years and determine different more effective ways to cross promote events and determine the best way to represent our sponsors along with providing a venue for riders to better their skills in a safe controlled environment. For 2014 we are excited about new ventures which will see our off-road cousins join our events to promote and advertise a full scale motorcycle weekend for riders both on road and off road at the same facility. Also for 2014 we will be bringing back two formal High Performance Riding Academies, one in May and another in August. This will be the first time in 6 years that we have felt the demand has existed to support two academies and we are excited about this turnaround in ridership. This season our race program will consist of a complete five event series, plus the Canadian Superbike Championship being held July 27. We will also continue our end of season 2 hour endurance race which has increased in popularity over the last number of years. We are excited about the 2014 Season and we

Types of Machinery You’ll See Superbike is the top class for pro and amateur riders featuring highly modified, 1000cc production based motorcycles in some cases running as much as 190+ HP on machines weighing approximately 380 lbs, typically utilizing slick tires for best traction. The highly competitive Sportbike class is built around the 600cc motorcycles found at any dealership. They compete with DOT legal tires, and run approximately 115 HP. Lightweight Supersport designed as a low cost alternative for racers and a way for young riders to gain the skills needed to compete at higher levels, this class has become one of the most exciting to watch with some of the best races of the year. Machines consist of 250cc and 125cc bikes with little horsepower but amazing cornering ability. Period 4 - Sportsman I and II are classes designed for older machinery including some of the original Honda Hurricanes, Ninjas etc. This class is another cost effective way for riders to get into the sport. Thunder machines are motorcycles which consist of two cylinders only and typically have a deep rumble to their exhaust. This class has seen some great racing among Ducati, Suzuki, and even Harley Davidson.
