INTRO Dear Sellers, I hope you are enjoying this summer season and that you are recharging your batteries in view of the big winter... the best season for sales! The silver lining is that us, the Teezily team, we are here to help you in developing your online business and build your own brand. Our “Education Center” is indeed one of our best features, and what makes Teezily the best e-commerce platforms for personalized apparels and products :) We follow the digital marketing trends and give you all the insights and tips you need to make the most of the best tools for promoting your campaigns. We know what are the most selling items per season and our production team works day & night to enlarge our offering. We fully acknowledge that “Knowledge is not power, the sharing of knowledge is power”: that’s why your personal journey means a lot to us, and we really appreciate the time you dedicate to give your ideas and advice to other sellers. This month we had the pleasure to talk with Sander and Daniel, two rockstars of T-shirt marketing, do not miss their interviews!

Zilers of the Month - Daniel & Sander

DANIEL

sander

We made it, this month we have the pleasure to introduce to you a double interview with two forerunners in the T-shirt marketing business: Daniel and Sander, who started launching their campaigns on Teezily a couple of years ago and reached outstanding outcomes and profits in a short period of time. We fully acknowledge that listening to the others’ stories is fundamental in order to raise the bar higher and boost motivation. Well, who better than them to explain to you that everybody can easily build a business on our platform? Hello Daniel and Sander! Where are you from and where are you living?

D - I come from Germany, near Frankfurt. I am living there with my wife and my daughter. S - I’m from Lemmer, Friesland, a province in the Netherlands. ss How did you start your busine at Teezily?

D - I started first with “Name” campaigns on Teespring, in 2014. Then one of my mentors suggested to start selling in Germany. “You

know your market and you know the Germans better than the Americans”, he said. And that’s why I decided to launch my business on Teezily, which is currently the best international company for Print on Demand. The rest is history... it took me about 3 months to boost my sales and have successful campaigns. S - It all started with a small, local but very dedicated Facebook page I started a couple of years ago. Back in the day I never realized you could actually make a lot of money on Facebook until I came across a shirt on Teezily which sold 3000+ products. This gave me the idea to try this on my humble page. Long story short: I sold about 40 shirts and made about 400 euros. I invested the money in ads and new designs, struggled until my very last 20 euros which is when I finally hit gold.

7

AUGUST / SEPTEMBER - TEEZILY POST

Can you tell us the main ed challenges you have experienc while trying to develop your business?

D - It’s always pretty hard to learn the newest digital marketing strategies and integrate them to your Facebook communication. Nonetheless, if you have a good group or a forum with some expert sellers you exchange about the most recent developments concerning FB ads and digital marketing with … keep them close and learn from the best! S - When things are coming my way and sales are good, this business is so much easier for me because I am full of ideas and energy. The weeks where there are less sales I have to get myself in the right mindset. Get rid of all distractions and work hard to make sales happen again. I learned to close myself down from distractions by avoiding them. Uninstall games, no TV in my office, headphones on and go! Don’t waste time by doing nothing.

How do you organise your work every day?

D - I am very focused and goal-oriented. I set up my short and long terms goals and schedule a plan to reach my objectives. Furthermore, I can count on an amazing team. My designers and my Virtual Assistant help me to upload and launch all my creations, so that I can have some free time to organise all my business activities. S - To be honest this a still a point for me where there is a lot of room for improvement. I want to do everything, right away asap. On the one hand that’s the main reason how sh*t happens, just do it! On the other hand things can get chaotic and I know I could be even more effective when I organize and schedule things properly.

How do you keep your ideas fresh for your market?

D - First of all, I need a VA to help suggest new design ideas and develop the best targeting strategy.. And you have to test, test, test and test. You know, sometimes I think that working in this business it’s like being a basketball player. You need to fail over 9000 shots to… “hit the basket”! I think it was Kobe Bryant who said that and that was true, indeed. S - By presenting them in good looking ads; ads make a big difference, especially when retargeting. I often relaunch old winners with a fresh ad. This year I’m using videos more and more, people like to see the shirt they are going to buy is real life use. Not just an image on Facebook. What is going to be your next move?

D - My next move is to upload all of my best selling designs to the marketplace to benefit from free traffic, without spending a penny in FB ads. S - I can’t say too much yet. But thanks to my dear friends at Teezily we are working on a very special collaboration to give sellers the opportunity to keep track of their sales like nobody ever has before in e-commerce. Teezily makes your sales count! What do you think about the future of online T-shirt marketing?

D - I think that the European market is still offering lots of possibilities. Everybody needs T-shirts, and people will not stop buying them. Nevertheless, competition is getting harder and therefore it’s really fundamental to find new, fresh ideas and be aware of the latest digital marketing trends. S - It’s a never ending story, people will always needs shirts and things can only get better.

8

AUGUST / SEPTEMBER - TEEZILY POST

Especially at the speed Teezily and technology in general is developing. Delivery will be faster and people will be even more eager to buy. A shirt is like a social media post. People want to express themselves, get attention, make people smile, trigger a response. More and more people want to express themselves in public by showing who they are and what they like. Do you have any requests or suggestions for our team?

D - Just keep on listening to us, the sellers, because we can identify the main problems and help to solve them. And always look at the market, implement new ideas and products as fast as you have already done in the past. It’s a risky business, but it’s also fun and challenging on the other side. S - Keep up the great work, you guys work hard and are there 24/7 to support me and everyone else who uses Teezily. I appreciate that a lot! Keep on improving everything that you are improving each day. Can you tell us your favorite memory of your «Teezily journey»? :)

D - The trips to Paris - to meet you - and Barcelona. I love to chat with you guys, but meeting you in the real life has been absolutely amazing. S - My favorite memories are the trips to Malta and Barcelona. Meeting like minded people is valuable because you don’t meet them in your regular daily life and it gives us an opportunity to share tips.

Did you enjoy your trip in Barcelona with the Teezily Team and what was your favourite moment?

D - Yes, I enjoyed it very very much. I don’t know if I can mention my favourite moment here...lol. I think it was the first meeting at the bar. It’s a strange feeling: it seems that we have known each other for a long time, and it’s so awesome to have the chance to meet, talk, exchange about the business and also go out together and have fun! S - 1000% Really thankful that I got the opportunity to go again, my favorite moment… aah there are a lot, what happens in Barça stays in Barça. :) But probably meeting everybody again and meeting new people stands out the most. Can’t wait for the next trip!

10 tips - Improving your Branding on Instagram

They say ‘a picture speaks a thousand words’. We say this should be your official mantra when using Instagram to increase brand awareness. Why? With 600 million active users every month and one billion liked photos every day, Instagram is an established Social Media giant. According to Forrester research, user interaction with brands through Instagram is 400 percent higher than on Facebook and Twitter. The question is how you can use this potential to work for your own brand. Here are 10 tips to get you started for improving your branding on Instagram.

1.

Use popular hashtags.

such as #motivationmonday, #transformationtuesday, #wisdomwednesday, #tbt etc. If you are not sure which hashtags to use, check out Top-Hashtags.com and Hashtagify.me

2.

Focus on the entire post.

Focus on the entire post. Yes, the picture is the first thing a potential follower will see and the hashtags can provide the context, but the caption gives you the opportunity to tell more about your brand or product and can peak interest beyond the photo itself.

AUGUST / SEPTEMBER - TEEZILY POST

3.

17

Add locations in every post.

Add locations in every post. Just like with the use of hashtags, this will help others to find your posts more easily. If you are selling a design in a certain language, you can then add a specific location that matches the language chosen, for example for a French design you should choose Paris as your location.

4.

Show appreciation for followers.

Show appreciation for followers by featuring them using your products and interact with other brands who have a similar audience or product. Engagement is key when it comes to Instagram. Comment on photos, share or like. Taking the time to ‘give back’ to your followers and to be active in the community will be rewarded. Your followers also like to see the ‘behind the scenes’ and pictures of customers actually wearing your designs. You can therefore either repost pictures of clients wearing your items or you post pictures of you and/or your team wearing the items you want to promote.

5.

Create a unique hashtag.

Create a unique hashtag for your brand or product and encourage your followers to use it for example in a photo competition. This will not only help you find the images posted relevant to your brand but it also creates a sense of community with your followers.

6.

tools.

Take advantage of the tools Instagram provides you for free. An Instagram business profile not only lets you analyse user behaviour and the performance of your posts but also offers a direct link for your followers to contact you through email, calls or texts.

18

AUGUST / SEPTEMBER - TEEZILY POST

7.

APPS.

There are a lot of apps and tools out there to make it easy for you to up your Instagram performance. Apps like Latergram or Iconosquare help with scheduling posts, repost photos easily with Repost and use apps, such as Afterlight, VSCO, Whitagram, Pic Stitch, Aviary, Lumify, Hyperlapse, Quick and Snapseed to edit photos. Studies have shown that photos using Mayfair, Inkwell, Amaro, Walden and Lo-Fi filters get more likes.

8.

Cross promote your Instagram posts.

Cross promote your Instagram posts. When you link all your different social media accounts a channel for traffic for each social media site will be created. People who already follow you on a different social media platform such as Facebook for example are also already interested in what you are doing and therefore might be potential instagram followers.

9.

Use Instagram stories.

Use Instagram stories. Give people a glimpse behind the scenes and show what goes into creating your product or what your philosophy is. Are you launching a new campaign? Why not preview the products over Instagram stories. The possibilities are endless. Instagram stories is your tool to show your followers just that little bit extra in terms of engagement, you just have to get creative.

10.

Stay consistent.

Stay consistent. Let’s say you follow all the tips we mentioned above, if you do not do it consistently, all the initial work will be for nothing. Find an Instagram schedule that works for you and stick to it. This not only makes it easier for you to analyze your performance but also your followers will know what they can expect from you.

Oktoberfest FACTS

19

SAVE TH E DATE

What is Oktoberfest? It’s the world’s largest Volksfest (beer festival and travelling funfair) that takes place every year in Munich, Germany during a period of 16 to 18 days starting on the third Saturday in September. Oktoberfest has a 207-year old tradition, dating back to 1810. Today, it attracts around 5,6 Million visitors from all around the world every year, who consume up to 6,1 Million liters of beer. Oktoberfest 2017 takes place from 16 September until 3rd October.

Fun facts • Locals call it ‘Wiesn’. It’s named after the Theresienwiese, the name of the piece of land where it takes place. (pronunciation: ‘vizen’). The beer is served in a ‘Maß’ glass (1 Liter). • Nobody is allowed to drink until the Munich’s mayor says so. Only after the traditional gun shooting and the mayor shouting ‘O’ zapft is’ (‘It’s tapped’), does the Festival officially start. • It is not only a beer but a culinary festival: you can accompany your beer with Hendl (roast chicken), Brezen (pretzels), Schweinshaxe (grilled ham hock), Knödel (potato dumplings), Käsespätzle (cheese noodles), Obatzda (spicy cheese-spread), Weißwurst (white sausage), … the list is endless! • Dirndl and Lederhosen (traditional Bavarian dress) are a must! If you show up wearing something different, you will stick out like a sore thumb.

Summer is in full swing, and beer lovers are enjoying their favourite cool drink of choice. The global beer industry is expected to cumulate ¤587.2 billion by 2020 while consistently becoming more complex. Niches are created everyday and beers like ales and lagers are reinvented. The continuous popularity of craft brews has paved the way for a new generation of producers and likewise a new generation of fans. May it be Oktoberfest, St. Patrick’s Day, International Beer Day (August 4) or do you want to feature extraordinary beers such as Kwak for example, go ahead and create your beer designs to cater to all of those beer fans out there who are dying to represent their favourite brew.

Quotes/slogans suggestions featuring beer: « O’zapft is! » « I am beer for you. » « Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. » « Life is brewtiful. » « You know something bad is about to happen when someone says, ‘Hold my beer and watch this’. » « There is no strong beer, only weak men. » « Beer makes me hoppy. » « The answer may not lie at the bottom of a beer bottle but… You should always check! » « Sur un vélo on boit de l’eau, une fois sur terre on boit de la bière. » « In dog beers I’ve only had one. »
