Karl E. Barge of Farnham, NY, was born at Princeton Hospital, Princeton, New Jersey. He was named Karl Erik after a Swedish friend of the family that his father, David A. Barge, worked with at Princeton. Karl was 61 when he died on January 9 from many issues related to COPD. Karl was the son of the late Pastor Jean Barge and of the late Dr. David A. Barge. He is survived by his sister-in-law Ruthann (Militello) Barge, a niece Megan Elizabeth Barge and 2 nephews, Matthew and Marc. Predeceased by his brother Marc. Karl was an employee of Hi-Temp Fabrication and worked at the company for 17 years. He played a pivotal role during the transition when HiTemp was acquired by Peerless Hi-Temp Fabrication and contributed as a hard-working machinist for 3 years. Karl was loyal and highly dedicated to the company. __________

Pamela Marie Rogalski (Wolf)

Pamela Marie Rogalski (Wolf), of Eden, NY at the age of 66 years, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and daughter passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 15, 2021 following an extended illness. Born on October 28, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Joy (Pollock) Wolf of Amherst and Donald Wolf of Buffalo. Pam graduated from Amherst Central in 1972 and Buffalo State University in 1976. She began her career with Traveler’s Insurance in 1976, where she was employed for 40 years, holding many positions and especially enjoying her managerial roles. Pamela was active in Theatre group at Amherst Central and treasured her role as Chava in a performance of Fiddler on the Roof. An avid reader, she also enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, watching football and spending time with family. She loved cooking big family dinners, complete with baking cookies and pies for dessert. Survivors include husband James Rogalski, two sons, James D. Rogalski of Buffalo and Lawrence Rogalski of Eden and daughter Nichole Towers (Scott), of Ashburn, VA, two grandchildren Steven “Max” Towers and Maryn Towers, both of Ashburn VA, brothers Eric Wolf (Cheryl) of Wilmington, NC, and Douglas Wolf (Mary) of Indian Land, SC, father Donald Wolf of Buffalo and many nieces and nephews. Pamela was preceded in death by her mother, Joy Wolf. At Pamela’s request, a cremation burial and small family memorial service will be held a later date. In November of 2020, we paid a visit to Dawn’s Restaurant on Main Street, Angola. Inside, the walls are decorated with history-related items of Angola, N.Y, with most donated by Neno LaRusso (lifelong resident of the town of Evans). Dawn was kind enough to loan us a few photos for scanning and sharing. As it “tis the wintery season”, we felt that readers would enjoy a reminiscent glimpse of a local Christmas day celebration, from a very different era. Included along with this photo were the names of many, though not all, of the children who attended and or participated in this pageant of Most Precious Blood Church, Angola, N.Y. The photo is of the older Most Precious Blood Church (not the church that we know of today on Prospect Avenue). Our Lake Shore Kids Made Those Signs! You Can "BILLieve it"!

The students weren't in the stands, but their signs were, giving the efforts of these Lake Shore High School students their own moment in the spotlight during the recent Bills/ Ravens game. When Global History teacher Bob Mahany mentioned he was going to the game, the students rallied during study hall to create signs for him to bring. Four signs were created, and while the players had all the attention on the field, Lake Shore’s signage in the stands drew the attention of NBC announcers, as well as Sportscenter (ESPN) and Barstool’s Pro Football Show out of New York City over a couple of days after the game, and also local WGRZ-TV. While it doesn't look like the signs will be going to Kansas City, they will be displayed in Mr. Mahany's classroom and this team effort, and the Bills' win, will always be a special memory. Former Derby Resident to Work with Special Needs Students in Liberia Monique Lindsey, formerly of Derby NY, has partnered with “Silent Word Ministries International” to become a missionary to the deaf and disabled of Liberia, West Africa. Monique grew up in the Faith Bible Baptist Church of Eden NY before attending college in Michigan. She then spent 8 years as a missionary/teacher in Puerto Rico, before moving to the Hidden Treasures Christian School in South Carolina, a school for severely disabled children. Monique spent nearly 15 years at Hidden Treasures, learning Monique (far right, second row from how to best bottom) as a student at the former help those with Southtowns Christian School on special needs. Lakeview Road, 1982: She is excited Monique Lindsey now, sharing her to use the knowledge gained from her experiences to vision with a church: begin a home for those with special needs in Liberia.

She is currently visiting churches in the United States, trying to raise the funds she needs to move to Liberia. She presented her vision to the Faith Bible Baptist Church on January 3.
