A.J. Schmidt Kind Kid of the Month: Jayden Hamm

Jayden Hamm is A.J. Schmidt’s Kind Kid of the Month at A.J. Schmidt Elementary School.

Jayden, a 5th grader in Mrs. Lori Wunder’s class, was nominated for his “Shout Out” because he showed responsibility when completing a math assignment he was unable to complete the day before. He loves playing football and video games (his favorite is Madden 2022). He says his favorite subject is gym because he gets to exercise and run around. Because he wants to help people, he hopes to be a firefighter or police officer when he grows up. According to Jayden, being kind is “helping people and making sure they aren’t sad or upset.” He feels it is important to show kindness because it “helps to spread kindness, and people need to treat others the way they want to be treated.” Some role models for kindness in Jayden’s life are his parents and siblings. He also has learned ways to be a good friend from James and Mason, older kids in his neighborhood. Some tips he suggests are, “never try to start a fight or talk behind someone’s back.” Jayden says when others treat him kindly, it makes him feel “full” and reminds him to respect others. One final tip from Jayden for teachers is to continue to be a role model and show one’s students how and what to do, so kindness can be spread everywhere. Contributed by Lake Shore CSD __________

As with most High School yearbooks – the pages are filled with students, faculty and sports and club activities. The year of 1956 for the Lake Shore High School “Shorelines” yearbook was no exception. Found within the black and white picture pages are plenty of people with smiling and happy faces. The yearbook of 1956 was dedicated to “our parents, to express our deepest and most sincere appreciation. They offer counsel for our problems, comfort for our troubles, forgiveness (usually) for our misdeeds and the love and security which balance our entire lives. …Even when they are no longer with us, it is their guiding footsteps which keep our path straight and their sight which keeps our vision clear.” We happened across two High School Band photos and those are the photos we decided to share with you today. The first photo is the posed group photo and the second shows a more candid photo of the band preparing to play at a football game. University of Tampa Honors Dean's List Students for Fall Semester

The University of Tampa has honored 2,056 students who were named to the dean's list for the Fall 2021 semester. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the dean's list.
