Kearns Excited to Bring Auto Bureau Services Back to Evans

New location is expected to open sometime in April

Erie County Clerk Michael P. “Mickey” Kearns announced that the Erie County Auto Bureau will open in its new home in the Highland Plaza, 6853 Erie Road in Derby sometime in April. Kearns was on hand for the installation of the new signage at the relocated office. “I am pleased to resume our Auto Bureau services to the motorists of Evans, Eden, Angola and the southern tier,” said Kearns. “This area of the County generates significant revenue through the sales and registrations of recreational vehicles such as boats, motorcycles, trailers, motorhomes, etc., that are vital to Erie County.” The Evans branch of the Erie County Auto Bureau will now be located in the Highland Plaza, 6853 Erie Road in Derby. The hours of operation will be Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Erie County Clerk Michael P. replacement vehicles for use by the District in the transportation of students and general use by the District: two (2) full size diesel-powered 71-passenger school buses at an estimated maximum cost of $133,862.48 each; one (1) full size battery electric powered 71-passenger school bus at an estimated maximum cost of $170,665.97; one (1) 30-passenger gasoline-powered school bus at an estimated cost of $72,570.87; and one (1) gasoline powered 24-passenger 5-wheel chair school bus at an estimated cost of $83,976.90; for a total aggregate maximum cost of $594,938.70; with such aggregate cost to be raised by a tax upon the taxable property of the District to be levied and collected in annual installments as provided in Section 416 of the Education Law, with such tax to be partially offset by State aid available therefore, and, in anticipation of such tax, by the issuance of debt obligations of the District as may be necessary, not to exceed such maximum aggregate cost. No tax levy increase is anticipated for Proposition No. 2.

Brandon Dunz named to Dean's List at Saint Francis University

Brandon Dunz, a Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering major from Lakeview, NY, was named to the Dean's at Saint Francis University. The March 9 ConnectLife Blood Drive at Lake Shore High School was a great success. "We had 53 people registered, all high school students and staff, and collected 44 pints of blood. That’s 132 lives saved!," said Kate Kreinheder, math teacher and Donate Life Club co-adviser at the school. She says she and fellow co-adviser, health teacher Rosanne Shaller, "love that our school community has such a heart for donation. We barely recruited for this drive.
