Project Keep Evans Warm & Fed is Back! During the period of November 1 through December 19 Most Precious Blood Church will again collect winter clothing, non-perishable foods and paper goods to assist residents in the Town of Evans The current pandemic has affected many of our neighbors where loss of jobs and income, loss of housing and even loss of life have all been by-products. Like last year, Most Precious Blood Church’s yearly warm clothing drive Project Keep Evans Warm will include a food and paper drive. The goal of this combined effort will be to assist Operation Good Neighbor (OGN) meet their increasing demand. All collections will be turned over to OGN for distribution to families in need and residing in the Town of Evans free of charge. For warm clothing we will accept winter coats, gloves, boots and hats in all sizes, colors and styles. Children’s sizes are very popular. We ask that any clothing donated be clean for wear. For food we will accept dry and canned foods whose shelf life has not expired. Examples consist of soups, cereals, pasta and vegetables. Baby food is in great demand. Current programs of assistance will not provide for paper goods such as Kleenex, paper towels and toilet paper so these will be collected, also. This is the Project’s 8th year and each year requests for assistance far exceeds what can be collected. This can easily be a community effort and we encourage all work places, churches, volunteer fire departments and schools to participate and directly work with OGN or you can call 481-4480 or 507-6703 to arrange for pick-up of any items donated. He is pre deceased by his parents Joseph E. Sr. and Madeline Hetsko. Joseph served in the United states Air Force as a Jet Engine Mechanic from 1954 – 1960. He was also an employee of Ford Motor Co. for 31 years. Family was present to receive friends on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the Addison Funeral Home Inc. Interment services with military honors were held Thursday in the Western New York National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road, Corfu, NY. _________

The Town of Brant Sponsors a Halloween Trunk-N-Treat

On Halloween day, October 31, 2021 the Town of Brant sponsored a “Trunk-N-Treat” at the Brant Town Hall. Once again organized by members of the Brant Town Board, this was the second year the town hosted the Halloween celebration. The event was well attended - despite competing with a beautiful sunny autumn day AND the Buffalo Bill’s game! Thirteen creative Halloween themed “trunks” participated during the advertised hours of 4-6 PM and each had treats galore to give away. One of the cutest decorated Alert!! Jolly Green trunks (in our opinion) was the Giant Alien spotted Volkswagen of Town of Brant Counin Brant! Seemed cilwoman Donna Marien. “Cookie harmless but strong Monster” was the theme and Don- he carried around that na herself impersonated a chocolate kid the entire time! chip cookie! The Brant Police were there too, but they were NOT handing out tickets! This day, they were handing out handfuls of candy and Deputy Brant Police badge stickers of which even the parents were happy to receive and wear. There were many different costumed visitors, including Cruella De Vil and one of the 101 Dalmatians, a lagoon monster, various Disney Princesses and super heroes, a cowboy, a ghost or two, Mr. Steam Punk (very dapper), a hockey player (possibly a Sabres draft choice?) and a friendly big green alien who somehow managed to carry around his friend and his treat bag! Newell-Faulkner Post 880 Celebrates Veterans Day at Southtowns Catholic School

On Wednesday, November 10, the Honor Guard from Newell-Faulkner American Legion Post 880 celebrated Veterans Day at Southtowns Catholic School. Commander Jim Blidy started the ceremony telling the students what Veterans Day is. The entire student body then followed the Honor Guard outside with a raising of the American Flag, the Pledge of Allegiance and then a 21 Gun Salute. The morning concluded with Taps.
