Lake Shore Alumni Celebrates Homecoming

On October 14, 2022, the Angola Lake Shore Alumni As sociation Board Members celebrated Homecoming Week end with the Senior High School students. Board member Dick Jasinski and Honorary Members Roslyn Chiappone and Ron Pfalzgraf attended the high school pep rally where they were warmly welcomed. They presented the Senior Homecoming Queen and King with trophies. The Alumni Association donates the trophies annually. This year Erin Lehnen and Simon Connors were awarded with the titles of Homecoming Queen and King. All involved were filled with Lake Shore school spirit!

Later that evening the Alumni board members judged the Homecoming parade floats. There were many floats decorated in a fairy tale theme with an LSC influence, cre ated by many different community groups. Some of the groups that participated in the parade were, the student grade levels and groups, the LS Teachers, Marching Band, School board members, Life Skills, Girls Varsity Soccer, Varsity Cheer, JV Cheer, Varsity Cross Country, Girls Var sity Swim, Chiavetta's, the transportation department and local firefighters and police! A great deal of hard work and creativity was put into the floats and the students were ex cited to be there. The winning floats were 1st place - Soph omores, 2nd place - Life Skills, 3rd place Freshmen, 4th place Girls Varsity Soccer with a special shout out to the transportation department as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Maleficent! After judging, the Alumni Associa tion joined the parade and handed out candy to the view ers. Everyone proceeded to the High School to enjoy the Homecoming game. Keep Evans Warm & Fed

It’s that time of year again when the days get shorter, the cold air returns and the holidays are fast approaching. In an effort to assist and support those in need and residing in the Town of Evans, Most Precious Blood Church along with Operation Good Neighbor (OGN) will be conducting Project: Keep Evans Warm and Fed. Assisting with this project are our friends at the First Church of Evans who have already offered to collect winter clothing. The starting date for this project is November 1 and it will end December 18. Collected will be winter clothing, non-perishable foods and paper goods. We will accept winter coats, gloves, boots and hats in all sizes, colors and styles. Children’s sizes are very popular. We only ask that any thing donated be clean. Food must be within shelf life and we will accept dry and canned goods with examples consisting of soups, cereals, pasta and vegetables. Baby food is in great demand. Current programs of assistance will not provide for paper goods such as Kleenex, paper towels disposable diapers and toilet paper so these will be collected also.
