Aν κάτι έκανε εντύπωση την περασμένη χρονιά στα αμερικανικά τηλεοπτικά δρώμενα – και όχι μόνο, ήταν η ανιμέισον σειρά του Netflix «We The People» της βραβευμένης Chris Nee, σε συμπαραγωγή με την εταιρεία Higher Ground των Μπαράκ και Μισέλ Ομπάμα. Η καινοτόμα σειρά έχει στόχο να διδάξει στα παιδιά τις βασικές αρχές των δικαιωμάτων τους ως σύγχρονοι πολίτες με έναν διαφορετικό και πολύ διασκεδαστικό τρόπο. Πρόκειται για 10 μουσικά βίντεο ανιμέισον, τα οποία θα απολαύσουμε φέτος στο Animasyros, σε Ειδική Προβολή (Εκτός Διαγωνιστικού) στην κατηγορία «Τηλεοπτική & Κατά Παραγγελία Ταινία». Eπιπλέον το ANIMASYROS έχει την τιμή και τη χαρά να φιλοξενεί την βραβευμένη με Peabody, Humanitas, NAACP και Emmy δημιουργό και παραγωγό Chris Nee σε μια συνέντευξη με την δημοσιογράφο, ιστορικό ταινιών animation και μουσικό παραγωγό Nancy Denney Phelps.

(ΑΓΟΡΑ - Σελίδα 301) If anything made an impression last year on American television - and beyond - was the Netflix animated series “We The People” by the award-winning Chris Nee, co-produced with Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground. The innovative series aims to teach children the fundamental principles of their civic rights as modern citizens in a different and very entertaining way. It features 10 animated music videos, which we will enjoy this year at Animasyros, in a Special Screening (Off Contest) in the “TV & On Demand Film” category. In addition, ANIMASYROS has the honor and pleasure of having Peabody, Humanitas, NAACP and Emmy award-winning creator and producer, Chris Nee in an interview with the journalist, animation film historian and music producer Nancy Denney Phelps.

Συνδυάζοντας τραγούδια που ερμηνεύουν σύγχρονοι καλλιτέχνες όπως οι H.E.R., Janelle Monae, Brandi Carlile, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Adam Lambert, Cordae, Bebe Rexha, Kyle, Andra Day και η ποιήτρια Amanda Gorman, η σειρά «We the people» επιχειρεί να εκπαιδεύσει μια νέα γενιά νέων Αμερικανών σχετικά με τη δύναμη του λαού, τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα αλλά και τις υποχρεώσεις τους ως πολίτες. Νόμοι και δικαστήρια, Φορολογικό σύστημα, Γερουσία, Κογκρέσο και Ομοσπονδιακές Αρχές, αλλά και διάσημοι μετανάστες όπως ο Πούλιτζερ, ο Τέλσα ή η Σοφία Βεργκάρα δίπλα σε εξίσου διάσημους αυτόχθονες Ιθαγενείς Αμερικανούς είναι μερικά από τα θέματα της σειράς. Μέσα από μαθήματα Iστορίας και Δημοκρατίας η σειρά μαθαίνει στα παιδιά να είναι ενεργοί πολίτες σε ένα σύγχρονο πολιτικό, κοινωνικό και διεθνές περιβάλλον, διαμορφώνοντας μια νέα αντίληψη για το τι σημαίνει κυβέρνηση και δημοκρατία. Και όπως σημειώνει το πρώην προεδρικό ζεύγος των ΗΠΑ, Μπαράκ και Μισέλ Ομπάμα, από τη σκοπιά των παραγωγών πια: Το «We the people» δεν είναι διάλεξη, ούτε εγχειρίδιο. Είναι ένας ύμνος που καλεί μια ανερχόμενη γενιά νέων ανθρώπων να συμμετάσχουν στη διαμόρφωση της δημοκρατίας τους προς το καλύτερο. Mε μια εξαιρετική ομάδα καλλιτεχνών, animator και κινηματογραφιστών, αυτά τα τραγούδια και τα βίντεο μπορούν να διδάξουν σε όλους μας βασικά μαθήματα για το πώς λειτουργεί η κυβέρνησή μας και τι σημαίνει να είσαι ενεργός πολίτης. Για όποιον θέλει να αφήσει αυτή τη χώρα σε καλύτερη κατάσταση από ό,τι την βρήκε, το «We the People» θα βοηθήσει τους νέους να συνειδητοποιήσουν τη δύναμη της φωνής τους, όταν ενωθεί με όλες τις φωνές και απαιτήσει αλλαγή. Combining songs performed by contemporary artists such as H.E.R., Janelle Monae, Brandi Carlile, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Adam Lambert, Cordae, Bebe Rexha, Kyle, Andra Day and poet Amanda Gorman, “We the people” attempts to educate a new generation of young Americans about the power of people, human rights and their obligations as citizens. Laws and courts, the tax system, the Senate, Congress and Federal authorities, as well as famous immigrants such as Pulitzer, Telsa or Sofía Vergara alongside equally famous Native Americans are some of the topics of the series. Through lessons of History and Democracy, the series teaches children to be active citizens in a modern political, social and international environment, forming a new understanding of what government and democracy are all about. And as the former US presidential couple Barack and Michelle Obama note, from the point of view of the producers this time: “We the People” is not a lecture, nor a textbook. It is an anthem that invites a rising generation of young people to participate in shaping their democracy into something better. With an outstanding team of artists, animators and filmmakers, these songs and videos can teach all of us essential lessons about how our government works and what it means to be an active citizen. For anyone who wants to leave this country in a better state than they found it, “We the People” will help young people realize the power of their voice when united with all the voices demanding change.
