I want to thank everyone who came out in August to support the Central Coast Claims Association at our August Luncheon.

Although I wasn’t able to see for myself, I have no doubt that Andy Bull gave an outstanding presentation! He has been a great partner to the CCCA over the years and we sincerely appreciate him.

So what’s next on the agenda? Well, it’s that time again! The Annual Bowling Tournament has been secured for October 27th at Morgan Hill Bowl. Bring your A game, bring your lucky shirt, just make sure you do not miss out! This has always been a fun event and we will be raising money for some well-deserved charities. Please check your email for more information or contact someone on the CCCA board directly with any questions!

The CCCA will take November off and then end the year with a Holiday BANG!!

We’re starting to plan our holiday lunch

now so please feel free to contact us with your ideas! We are definitely looking to mix it up a bit! Someone recently said to me….. If it’s a penny for my thoughts and I give you my two cents, where does the extra penny go? Well, hopefully it goes into building some life back into this great organization J. Andy Bull Delivers on Creating A Culture of Safety at August CCCA The Central Coast Claims Association resumed its luncheon meeting schedule Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Scott’s Seafood in Downtown San Jose. Guest speaker for the day was Mr. Andy Bull, known most famously as “The Ladder Guy”, Mr. Bull gave a fresh new presentation on Developing a Culture of Safety this time out.

The modest, but enthusiastic, gathering of members and guests were treated not only to a fabulous lunch at Scott’s, but also to a most informative seminar session on ways in which we can all better focus on proceeding in life with a bit more care, and focus on safety - for ourselves, our families and work associates.

CCCA Vice President, April Wilkinson, was on-hand to run the meeting in the absence of President Denise Garcia.

Clarette treasured the military. hose who have been around the claims industry in the South Bay area for the bulk of this still new century will remember Clarette Hook fondly.

A mover and shaker in the claims community, Clarette served as Golf Tournament Chair for the Central Coast Claims Association for several years before taking the reins as President in a mid-term election in July, 2003.

We learned recently that Clarette passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 6, 2016.

“She really cherished her time with the association,” said her sonin-law, Don Huckvale, who was kind-enough to let us know of her passing.

Huckvale, who was the owner of CPR Services for many years, a well-known reconstruction contractor in the area, had the pleasure and benefit of Clarette’s presence in the business. She had a way with people that afforded her many good friends, and she had the ability to make things happen.

The family moved to Idaho following Clarette’s retirement in 2006.

What some folks might recall is that, at the time that Clarette took over the CCCA the association was in fairly dire straits. Previous president, Jim Pfaff, a claimsman with Cunningham Lindsey, had done a most admirable job of trying to salvage the fledgling group
