PT&C/LWG FORENSIC CONSULTING ANNOUNCES CORPORATE RE-BRANDING TO ENVISTA FORENSICS

January 3, 2017 PT&C/LWG Forensic Consulting announced today that the Company has changed its name to Envista Forensics.

“This new brand captures the essence of the Company’s strength in investigation and conveys their global forensic consulting capabilities,” stated Jennifer Gaster, VP of Marketing, with the announcement.

The name change was made effective January 1, 2017.

In December 2014, PT&C/LWG Forensic Consulting was formed when Atlanta, GA based PT&C Forensics acquired Northbrook, IL based LWG Consulting. Both

industry leading forensic engineering firms had been providing consulting services to the insurance and legal industries. “The PT&C/ LWG brand facilitated the smooth, global integration of two extremely successful organizations.”

Lots to be Grateful for as we move into 2017. Happy New Year!

I cannot believe that Christmas is done and we are kicking off a New Year! Now that I have kids, I love Christmas and all the things that come along with it.

January 2017 message from 2016-2017 EBCA President Gemma Houser

This year my wonderful 4 year old got Hands, Foot and Mouth 3 days before Christmas so we had to change our plans. It’s amazing how much a virus can spread like wildfire through preschool. We still enjoyed spending time with our family, and opening gifts. Seeing the joy in my girls faces when they open their gifts is amazing.

I hope you all enjoyed the EBCA Holiday Luncheon as much as I did. It’s one of my favorite luncheons because we get to donate money to some awesome causes. I know that Bay Area Crisis Nursery, Children’s Hospital and Shelter Inc. were all so grateful for the money we were able to give them. BACN also took some great gifts for the kids, donated by our members. Thank you all for getting behind those causes with us.

Our January luncheon will be on the 11th and Sonia Ahmad and Trevor Montgomery from Low Ball and Lynch will be talking on “Exploring Trends in Negligence Actions Against Real Property Owners”. I’m looking forward to hearing what they have to say.

Sonia Ahmad works on the Landlord Tenant and Business Litigation for Low, Ball & Lynch.

After earning her B.A. in Political Science at Lewis & Clark College, she stayed in the City by the Bay to get her J.D. and her LL.M. in Taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law. Ms. Ahmad has been a member of the State Bar of California since 2011, representing clients in a wide variety of litigation including landlord/tenant, litigation, and business related matters.

Sonia enjoys running in San Francisco’s greenery and scenery, and she plays basketball when she is not immersed in work.

Trevor W. Montgomery is an associate in the San Francisco office of Low Ball & Lynch.

Mr. Montgomery earned two B.A.’s (Philosophy and Political Science) from the University of California, Davis, and his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law. Mr. Montgomery has been a member of the State Bar of California since 2012.

Insurance Commissioner investigating allegations Wells Fargo signed up consumers for insurance without their permission SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones December 12, 2016 directed the California Department of Insurance to launch an investigation into allegations made by former employees of Prudential Insurance Company that Wells Fargo employees signed up consumers for Prudential insurance without the consumers' authorization.

Commissioner Jones asked department investigators to investigate all aspects of these allegations, including possible violations of California laws that requiring persons transacting insurance to have an insurance license issued by the department.

"Investigators with the California Department of Insurance will investigate new allegations of fraud and misconduct made by former Prudential employees regarding Wells Fargo and its employees," said Commissioner Dave Jones. "Former Prudential employees who filed a whistleblower lawsuit allege that Wells Fargo signed up consumers for Prudential insurance policies without consumer permission much as Wells Fargo admitted its employees illegally signed up consumers for bank products without permission. We will also examine Prudential Insurance company's practices in this regard."

Wells Fargo has admitted that as many as two million unauthorized accounts for its consumers were created by thousands of Wells Fargo employees. Prudential has a partnership with Wells Fargo to sell insurance products to Prudential's customers. The California Department of Insurance will conduct its independent investigation in collaboration with the New Jersey Division of Insurance, which is also investigating this issue.

There was an air of festivity & giving at the EBCA Holiday Luncheon.
