Getting To Know Your EBCA Leaders

Amaya Fine -

EBCA Vice President finding her niche Leadership Profile by Lynna Harrison, with Bryan Harrison

The East Bay Claims Association is fortunate to have the talents of 2018 Vice President, Amaya Fine, as a key part of their leadership team. A Bay Area native, “born and raised”, Amaya is making great use of her education and work ethic, in her career and on behalf of the association. Born in San Francisco and raised in Antioch, California, along with her younger brother, Ms. Fine earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from California State University at Sacramento. “Working in Marketing is a perfect fit for me,” she said. Amaya Fine first stepped onto the EBCA Board in 2016, during Gemma Houser’s presidency. She has grown in her position and status on the board, and with the organization, working with EBCA Treasurer, John Ehlert, as Golf Tournament Committee Co-Chair in 2017 and again this year. She stepped-up to become Vice President this year, as well. Amaya’s family moved from The City to Antioch, where she attended school from first grade until graduating from Antioch High School. She then did her General Ed. at Community College before transferring to Sacramento State University, where she earned her Bachelors Degree. Life took her to Texas for a couple of years, after getting married. She returned to Antioch in 2011, divorced, and is very happy raising her two beautiful daughters here. Penellope (7) and Scarlett (4) are her pride and joy.

“When I’m not working they are my whole world,” she said. “We spend tons of time outdoors and love to travel! From bike rides around the neighborhood, hiking Black Diamond Mines, beach days in Santa Cruz and visiting family in Spain, we stay pretty busy.” Amaya says she landed in this industry quite by chance. “A friend with whom I went to high school posted a job opening for a part-time admin in his office. I applied, and there I was…in restoration!” The position was an in-house job, where she worked at the front desk for about 10 months. Amaya’s education and clear people skills had her transition that first year into a Marketing position, where she

excelled, taking her to a new place in her career. Most recently, Amaya accepted a new challenge and position as a Business Development Executive for RegasGroup Environmental Consultants, working to help build the Sacramento-based firm in their expansion into the Bay Area market. “This company is such a great fit for me,” Amaya stated. “To find something that you enjoy doing EVERYDAY is truly a blessing! The quote, ‘Choose a job you love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life’ is so true!” The new position also allows her to continue in her leadership role with the EBCA. Amaya may be seen at most every meeting and gathering the association puts on, and has become an increasingly central figure to the organization.
