Don Sams, founder of Sams & Associates, announces retirement and plans for other pursuits Loomis, CA – Don Sams, founder and president of Sams & Associates, has announced his retirement from Sams & Associates. After 42 years in the insurance industry, Don plans to pursue other entrepreneurial ventures.

“Words can never express the love and respect I have for our industry and the many professionals I have come to know over these last four plus decades,” Sams said. “I have often been asked what I liked most about my ‘job’. It has always been an easy answer: the many close personal relationships forged with so many great people,” he explains.

During his career, Don Sams worked for many insurance organizations. He started as an adjuster, then account manager, with Crawford & Company in Chicago, He was Senior Vice President with Brown Brothers Adjusters at its sale to Frank B. Hall.

In 1990, Don opened his own claims organization, Sams & Associates.

According to Don, “The hallmark of Sams & Associates has been outstanding service, which inspired my motto of “Your Claims… Done Right… Guaranteed”.

Sams & Associates has developed a reputa-

tion for not only treating its customers right, but employees with care and concern.”

In 2013, Sams & Associates was cited by the Sacramento Journal in its Fastest Growing Companies List. Again in 2014 for its revenue growth, and as the leading independent adjusting firm in the western United States, with a national reputation for outstanding service. Sams & Associates has had a presence in over twelve western states, and done private investigative services in California.

In September 2014, Sams was acquired

“Combining the expertise and geographic footprint of Sams & Associates with our established York Field Services team strengthens our property and casualty service offerings to all our clients,” noted Danny Miller in 2014, President of York Specialized Loss Adjusting, “and we are looking forward to expanding this key service area under Don’s leadership,” he added.

Don Sams has supported the local Sacramento community and the insurance in-

dustry. In 2009 and 2010, Don was president of the Sacramento Claims Association. He has been a member and supported the PLRB (Property & Liability Resource Bureau) for over 30 years.

In 2003, Don was chairman of the first annual American Diabetes Association Father of the Year, Sacramento.

As Don Sams pursues other ventures he adds, “I look forward to working with and staying in touch with the many contacts and friends I have in the insurance industry. I will continue to provide support and assistance to any of them who have a need.

My plans will be to do some consulting and recruiting within our industry.”

Michael C. Kronlund has been a partner at Quinn & Kronlund, LLP since 1999 and has worked with Daniel F. Quinn since 1989. He brings more than 20 years of active civil litigation experience to their firm, and has also participated in numerous binding arbitrations.

Mr. Kronlund is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento, having received a B.A. degree in Government in 1986. He went on to McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, completing his Juris Doctorate in 1989.

As a Stockton trial attorney, Mr. Kronlund has in personal injury law, representing many defendants, including: drivers, truckers, police officers, public entities and businesses. He also possesses considerable experience representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases, according to the firm’s web site.

During the course of his career, Mr. Kronlund has tried cases in many counties across Northern California. He has also received the prestigious BV® Distinguished™ Peer Review Rating(SM) from Martindale-Hubbell®, which reflects his sterling reputation within the California legal community as a Stockton trial and personal injury attorney.

DOI Fair Claims Regs Recertification at March 16 MVCA Christine Reed, of Low Ball & Lynch, to present luncheon seminar

Christine Balbo Reed joined the firm in 2003. She practices in the areas of employment, personal injury, premises liability, construction defect and public entity defense. Ms. Reed specializes in the representation of civil litigation defendants throughout Northern and Central California. She is admitted to practice in the State of California, before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and in the Northern, Central, and Eastern Districts of the Federal Courts.

Christine handles all aspects of litigation, including arbitration, jury and court trials in state and federal court. Her most recent trial experience occurred in Alameda County in October, 2016, in which she received a defense verdict after a 9 day jury trial in a personal injury and property damage matter defending corporate client, Aaron’s.

Her practice also includes appellate work, with the most recent decision published in 2015 in conjunction with Guy Stilson, Valdez v. Santa Lucia Preserve Co. CA6 (H040685) (unpublished), reversing a denied motion to compel arbitration in employment class action matter. Published decisions include Trend Homes Inc. v. Azperren 131 Cal.App.4th 950 regarding judicial reference in 2005, and again in conjunction with Guy Stilson

in 2010, in Sacramento Suncreek Apartment, LLC, et al. v. Cambridge Advantaged Properties II L.P., et al. 187 Cal. App. 4th 1, regarding proper service of out of state parties for California jurisdiction.
