Kronlund Provides Case Law Update at February MVCA Luncheon By Bryan Harrison
The Mid-Valley Claims Association welcomed the return of past board member and long time member, Mike Kronlund, as the guest speaker for the February 16, 2018 luncheon meeting. Kronlund, a defense attorney at Quinn & Kronlund in Stockton, provided a wide ranging review of case law decisions for the group. Well represented was the table of claims staff from Golden Bear Insurance, as well as Truex Insurance and independent adjusters. Adjusters outnumbered service provider attendees on this day. Kronlund, fresh back from the Defense Counsel's annual legal seminar, was wellequipped with legal decisions recently rendered. He gave an overview of a dozen or more of the top cases for the year, ranging from Duty To Defend, Policy Exclusions For a Company Car to Construction Defect and Bad Faith-related cases. MVCA President, Sherry Wenograd, was out ill still fighting that flu bug, so election of new officers and board members was postponed until the March 16th meeting.

Signs of Spring All Around The Network By Bryan Harrison, Association News Network Publisher
Daylight Saving Time serves to alert us that the Spring Equinox is quickly upon us. From St. Patrick’s Day to March Madness, society seems to mirror the season. New growth and expression abounds as the days grow longer and warmer. Our affiliated Claims Associations are in the spirit of the season, as well. In March, East Bay Claims Association kicked things off with a departure of a luncheon. No guest speaker. Instead, it’s their first-ever BINGO EXTRAVAGANZA! This luncheon was held on their regular 2nd Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Zio Fraedo’s. A great time was had by all! Photos will be posted at: www.EastBayClaims.org.
Sacramento Claims decided to forego a regular luncheon meeting for March (next one is April 12th). Instead, they celebrated March Madness with a mixer event at the Blue Cue pub in downtown Sacramento. Folks brought their brackets, Thursday, March 15, 2018, and had a great time as early as 4pm, with the event running until about 7:00. www.SacramentoClaims.org for more. And, finally, the Mid-Valley Claims Association is holding their annual Fair Claims Settlement Practices recertification luncheon Friday, March 16, 2018. Christine Reed, of Low Ball & Lynch, will doing the certification honors once again for this group. Election of new officers is on the agenda again. Go to: www.MidValleyClaims.org to secure your luncheon spot. May you find new light, some contentment and sense of peace as the new Spring season unfolds. See you around the network! Warm regards,
Bryan
