OYAMA WINS 2ND OF SEASON

P

ING Pro Shiho Oyama earned her second title in the past two months with a wire-to-wire victory at the Nobuta Group Masters GC Ladies on the Japan LPGA Tour. It was her 15th career win and her -19 total came on rounds of 65-67-69-68. Oyama also won in early September. Among her PING clubs were a G30 hybrid and a Scottsdale TR Grayhawk putter. Sunday’s victory was the fourth in Asia in recent weeks by women playing PING equipment. In addition to Oyama’s two victories, Ai Suzuki became the youngest player to win a major on the JLPGA. And In Gee Chun claimed her second win of 2014 on the Korean LPGA in late September.

SHIHO OYAMA’S WIN WAS ONE OF FOUR RECENT PING VICTORIES IN ASIA.

G30 DRIVER HAS GLOBAL APPEAL

P

ING pros across the world will put the G30 driver in play this week at key events. FedExCup champion Billy Horschel, a two-time winner with the model, will have it in the bag at the CIMB Classic in Malaysia, as will David Lingmerth and Heath Slocum. In China, Miguel Ángel Jiménez is one of four PING pros who will rely on the driver. And in Taiwan, Azahara Muñoz, Caroline Masson and I.K. Kim will all play the model.

2 WINNERS RELY ON S55 IRON

t

he winners of the AT&T Championship on the Champions Tour and the Blue Bay LPGA in China both relied on S55 irons. At the AT&T, the winner was #1 in GIR for the week at 81.48%. In the final round he hit 94.44%. Since January, the S55 iron has been used in 17 victories on professional tours worldwide.

MASSON 2ND WITH G30 DRIVER

C

aroline Masson posted her best result of the season with a solo second at the rain-shortened Blue Bay LPGA in China. Masson relied on a G30 driver to finish -13 (67-69-67). Masson also utilized a G25 fairway wood and hybrid, S55 irons, Tour Gorge wedges, and a Ketsch putter. The 25-year-old German birdied her final three holes on Sunday and made 18 over three rounds. She averaged fewer than 25 putts per round (and needed only 18 in the final round) to finish in the top 10 for the second time in three events.

Mark Wilson’s reading of the greens paid off on the back nine during the third round of the PGA Tour’s McGladrey Classic in Sea Island, Ga., where he finished T8 in his third start of 2014-15. With his Karsten TR B60, he drained birdie putts from 47 feet on the 12th hole and from 42 feet on the 17th. A G30 driver was also in the bag of the longtime PING pro, who was -11 on four rounds in the 60s: 67-66-69-67.
