ING Pro Yoko Maeda won the Ito En Ladies Golf Tournament on the Japan LPGA Tour Sunday, winning on the second playoff hole. Among her PING clubs she relied on a G30 3-wood, 5-wood and 7-wood. Her -9 total came on rounds of 68-69-70. Maeda’s victory is the sixth for women PING pros in Asia in recent weeks and the 11th for PING overall since early September. She relied on a Scottsdale TR putter, the 32nd PING putter to contribute to a win during this calendar year. A gold-plated replica of her model will be added to the PING Gold Putter Vault. CHUN EARNS 3RD TITLE OF 2014
OF THE
WEEK
P
ING Pro In Gee Chun has grown accustomed to hoisting trophies. She earned her third title of the season Sunday, winning the ChosunilboPOSCO Championship on the Korean LPGA Tour. The 20-year-old is in her second year on the KLPGA and is one of the most promising young stars in Korea, having won a major as a rookie. Chun is the seventh PING pro with multiple victories this calendar year. Bubba Watson also has three wins. Billy Horschel, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Kirk Triplett, Yuki Ichinose, and Shiho Oyama each have two.
Following his win at the WGC-HSBC Champions in China, Bubba Watson headed to Japan last week to meet with some 25 invited PING customers prior to competing in the Mitsui Sumitomo Visa Taiheiyo Masters. Group members followed Bubba during his opening round, watching him card a 67. Afterward, he conducted a Q&A and mingled with the guests and PING staff at his hotel. Attendees left with a signed photo, a visor and a “Bubba Long Japan 2014” T-shirt.
