The Place Of Preparation In The Pursuit Of Your Dream Job by Daniel Dela Dunoo 5/15/2017 / Career
“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail” –Benjamin Franklin Scores of unemployed graduates are focused on submitting job applications and getting invited for job interviews with hopes of landing their dream jobs. This is well and good. However, there is also the tendency to wile away time while on a job hunting drive. Many unemployed graduates simply hope that their efforts at landing jobs will one day pay off; they will receive a job offer some day. Some are crippled by a sense of frustration, disappointment, failure, shame and hopelessness in the face of exerting considerable amounts of efforts with nothing to show. There are also those who wile away time watching television, socializing and basically engaging in a variety of entertaining activities. For these two classes of people, many opportunities may pass by without their notice and for those that come to their notice their lack of preparation disqualify them. Talk of the job seeker who has submitted a couple of job applications and who gets shortlisted for an interview but simply flops as a consequence of a lack of preparation prior to the interview. Think also of the job seeker who successfully sails through the recruitment process and is offered his or her dream job but is fired within the probation period because of unsatisfactory performance. You certainly do not want to be found in any of these unpalatable circumstances. An incisive mind once noted, “Success happens when opportunity meets preparation.” I will be sharing briefly on two major fronts of preparation unemployed graduates should consider while in pursuit of their dream jobs. Continually prepare for interviews As a job seeker on a job hunting drive one of your preoccupations ought to be ensuring that you are adequately prepared for job interviews. It is great to commence making preparations upon receiving at invitation for a job interview and by all means do so. However, it is even greater and better to be in perpetual readiness for job interviews. You perhaps might have had occasions where you we invited for an interview on short notice and consequently had to make some kind of preparation with alacrity for such an ‘impromptu’ interview. There is a way ill-preparedness affects your confidence level and delivery performance at interviews and you certainly don`t want to blow your opportunity to make a positive first impression on your interviewees. There have been occasions where I ironed my attire in anticipation of an invitation to a job interview. You should have your necessary documentations such as CVs and photocopies of your certificates ready and neatly packaged. Work on building your confidence and sharpening your interviewee skills. Get online and download videos, audios and PDF`s on the subject matter of job interviews. While your colleagues are wiling away time, consume these materials, learning and practicing. Research and read around the kinds of your jobs you have applied for and the kinds of jobs you desire to have. Goggle searches will be helpful in this regard. Acquaint yourself adequately with the content of your CV. TO BE CONTUNIE NEXT MONTH

Don't Wait to Get Caught by Beth Nyhart 8/10/2016 / Testimonies In today's world, we see Christian leaders fall into sexual sin all the time. Each time a name comes to light, it becomes more and more obvious that Satan has a huge foothold in this area. And if sexual sin is this common in our leadership, it has to be rampant throughout churches everywhere. What I believe is at the root of this problem is a fear of confession and a lack of trust that God's way is better than our own way. I believe this is the root of the problem because it was the root of the problem for me. I also believe that the church needs examples of confession and accountability. We need stories of people who choose God over their temptations on a regular basis. We need to be reminded of what we believe and why we follow Christ. And so, to that end, I'd like to tell you my story. I was introduced to pornography at a young age and instantly, something inside of me woke up that I have not been able to put back to sleep. You may have heard of people who take one drink and are addicted to alcohol, well, I took one look and I was addicted to sex. My addiction went unchecked for almost 10 years, escalating to include masturbation and cybersex. At the same time, I was growing up in a Christian home and building a relationship with God. I desperately hated these urges that I was not able to control. I was disgusted at my body's reaction to things that my heart knew were damaging, both to me and to the other people involved. I educated myself about the realities of the sexual exploitation industry, trying to convince my mind that this was a horrible thing. I wanted God to magically heal me and take the temptation away, and I prayed for that constantly.
When I read verses like Colossians 1:22 "..to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.." those words made me cringe. I related to passages like Isaiah 2, Ezekiel 16 and Hosea. I was the child bride who rejected her husband and went out to seek sex like a whore. But that was all on the inside. That happened in the dark and behind closed doors and in my cleared browser history. In my visible life, I held a position as youth representative on the church board. I was a trusted member of the youth group leadership team. I led the drama team in our church and started a worship band. I led two lives, and I had conditioned my heart and mind to accept this. Sin had an iron grip on my heart, and Satan whispered to me that only men struggled with porn, that I would be humiliated if I ever was found out. It was only when the Holy Spirit got through my defenses that I cried out to God. When I was 17, I gave myself the ultimatum to either get help or get out of leadership in my church. That fall, I entered an intensive discipleship program where I confessed my secret sin issues and got the accountability that I needed. I hoped that after the big confession that I would be healed, but that isn't the way God worked for me. Even with the help of my advisers and close friends, I had a decade of sin with roots that had grown deep into my life and habits that had to be unlearned. I needed regular and intrusive accountability to maintain a clear conscience for years, but the peace of living without the fear of exposure over my head, of knowing that I am forgiven and that my life is open to God's prompting and plan, it is the best feeling I have ever experienced.
It has been another decade since I finally confessed and got help. There have been times when I failed, times when I backed away from accountability and ended up justifying small indulgences. But God used the decision that I made in my junior year of high school to build a foundation for repentance and pave the way back to a clean conscience. Just as it is easier to continue in sin after you have done it once, it is easier to confess and repent once you build that pattern into your life. My prayers for miraculous healing were not answered. Instead, I was given enough grace to take each step that was put before me. God's way has drawn me ever slowly closer to his heart through the years. And because of this decade of learning to discipline my mind, I am softer when he convicts me.. I am stronger when he challenges me.. I am braver when he asks me to change. It is both the mystery of his grace and the daily walk in his will that have worked the miracle in my life. As a body of believers, many of us have lost the discipline of confession. We are so afraid that we are alone in these temptations, and so afraid of the disgust that we see slung around on social media when a sinner is caught. But if we confess our sins he is faithful and just. He will forgive us from our sins. Don't wait to be caught; give yourself up. Turn yourself in. You have the choice of wallowing in your invisible dirt or walking into glorious freedom. I bet you would be surprised who all has been wallowing beside you. I was meant to be holy in his sight. Without blemish. Free from accusation. Should someone point the finger at me and name my sins, I do not need to cringe. Satan doesn't hold anything over me that has not already been confessed and forgiven. As the song says, sin's curse has lost its grip on me. If you are reading this, please do one of three things: If the Holy Spirit is convicting you of sin right now, tell a trusted friend that you need to talk to them. Even just setting the appointment is a huge step on the road to confession and freedom. If you have dealt with secret sin in your past and are now experiencing freedom in Christ, share your story with someone. The church needs examples of how to deal with their sin, and you can contribute to that cause. And if you are not in a place that you feel able to do either of those things, please pray. Pray for yourself and for others to have the courage to give themselves up and finally be free. Pray for God to give us all the grace to triumph over seemingly impossible trials and that we would trust that his way is truly better than our way. Beth Nyhart has her heart set on being a godly wife & mother, and being as close to God as possible. How To Become A Millionaire: Start Thinking Like One By Brian Tracy’s
Think like a Millionaire I think you’ll agree with me when I say that everybody wants to know how to become a millionaire and get rich. Unfortunately, some people just don’t know where to start. Would you be surprised to learn that you can get rich in your own way, starting today? The following tips will help you visualize the road ahead of you and enable you to set goals to make more money than you ever dreamed. How To Become A Millionaire In 6 Steps: Write down all of your ideas to make more money Take time to relax and reflect on your financial goals Gain financial independence using the magic wand technique Project forward and think back on your financial goals Practice “Mind-storming” on all your problems Save your money until you have a million dollars Here are the details for these 6 exercises which will bring clarity to your life and help you figure out how to become a millionaire and achieve financial independence: 1) How To Make More Money: Start By Writing Down Your Ideas Buy a spiral notebook. Carry it with you if you possibly can, and write down every idea that comes to you throughout the day. Review this idea log on a regular basis. Sometimes, one idea that you have while you are driving along, sitting, reading, watching television, or in a conversation may be the insight that will lead to the start of your fortune. If your goal is to make more money, write down all of your ideas as to how you will achieve this goal. The rule is, “Catch the idea and write it down.” If you don’t write it down quickly, you will very often lose it. 2) Goal Setting: Relax And Reflect On Your Financial Goals Take regular time-outs to relax and reflect on your goals and the obstacles that are holding you back from achieving them. During these times of relaxation, ideas will often pop into your mind that can save you hours, days, and sometimes years of hard work. 3) Gaining Financial Independence Using The Magic Wand Technique Practice the exercise of fantasizing on a regular basis. Sometimes this is called the “magic wand technique.” Imagine that you have a magic wand and you can wave it over your current situation or problem. Imagine that as a result of waving this magic wand, all the obstacles are removed from between you and your financial goals.
4) Project Forward And Think Back On Your Financial Goals Imagine that your goal is to build a successful business in a particular field. Project forward three to five years and imagine that you now have a successful business in that field. What would it look like? How big would it be? What kind of people would you be working with? What kind of reputation would you have in the marketplace? What would be your level of sales and profitability? How would you be running this business? And especially, what could you start doing right now to make this future dream a reality. 5) How To Become A Millionaire By Practicing “Mind-Storming” On Every Problem Perhaps the most powerful method of stimulating creative thinking is called “mind-storming,” or the 20-idea method. More people have become wealthy, including me, using this idea more than any other method of creative thinking ever discovered. In fact, this technique alone could enable you to gain financial independence. The method is simple. Take any problem or goal that you have and write it at the top of a sheet of paper in the form of a question. For example, if your goal is to double your income over the next 12 months, then you would write, “How can I double my income over the next 12 months?” You then discipline yourself to write at least 20 answers to that question. You can write more than 20 answers if you like, but you must use your discipline and willpower to write at least 20 answers. 6) Save Your Money And Become A Millionaire At the very simplest, if you were to save $100 per month, from the time you started work at the age of 20 until the time you retired at age 65, and you invested that $100 per month in a mutual fund that yielded you an average of 10%, you would be worth approximately $1,118,000 by the time you retired. Chances are, your discipline and your resolve to continue saving, year in and year out, would have such an effect on your character and your personality that you would end up earning far more than 10% per year. But at $100 per month, anyone can become a millionaire.

Man up This Article has truly bless me, this is a must read for my brothers Manpower--Passion and Purpose by Abby Kelly 9/30/2014 / Mens Issues Don't stop reading! I know you're about to tune me out. After all, what does some alien woman from Venus know about men's issues? Not much from an insider's perspective, but as one with a bird's eye view, I think you might be interested in what I have to say. Until the advent of my nephews, my dad and husband were the most influential men in my life. (Now, my sisters' two yearlings possess some power to instantly erode my vocabulary back to primitive coos and cuddles.) My father and husband are my case studies. In them, I have been blessed to experience the impact of powerful, godly men. They have shaped me as a womangenetically, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
It's no surprise to anyone, least of all my male audience, that men have an ego. They have an innate need to exert control over their environment and have influence in their relationships. Let's call this "manpower". Two significant components of manpower are purpose and passion. A man thrives knowing his purpose in life and that purpose is propelled by his passion. Without either of these qualities, a man risks feeling impotent in the spheres of family, work and friendships as well as his self-perception. Recently, we celebrated my dad's 60th birthday. Desperate for a new take on the traditional party, something unexpected and not too overwhelming, my mother, sisters and I settled on a card party. We sent invitations to more than 70 people that know my dad and asked them to send a birthday card mentioning a favorite memory or thought about him. More than 60 cards arrived in time for his birthday. As we sat around the table listening to my dad read the touching sentiments, my brother-in-law remarked, "I am pretty sure I don't even know 60 people who would feel compelled to send me a birthday card, let alone include some kind of specific thought about how I'd impacted their lives."
It's true. Over the course of two nights, we watched Daddy open and read letter after letter from people he has worked with, bumped into, taught in Sunday school, coached their kids' ball teams, participated in Rotary and served on boards with. Every letter was filled with a reflection of the passion which compelled him to reach into so many lives. Four cards in the stack were from my sisters and me. For over 34 years, Daddy has poured his passion for Jesus, for life and for the Gospel into us. A telling sign of his intense passion are the tears that brim in his eyes with every prayer over his family. Other examples of his passion are Dad's tireless work to provide for his family, to take care of his employees, listen patiently to wounded hearts, attend hours long church meetings and faithfully take my mom on special dates and long weekends. Passion motivates my father and through his passion he has effectively exercised a powerful influence in the lives of many people.
The Bible calls men to act on their passion. Ephesians 6:7 says, "Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people," and Colossians 3:23 echoes, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters". There is no room for passionless men in the powerful work of Christ's kingdom on earth. Purpose is no less important and while my dad most certainly possess this trait, I see it most definitively in my husband. One week ago, he called me from work with startling news. "I'm deploying to Liberia in 2-4 weeks to help fight Ebola." That was it. A simple sentence with no preamble, just the simple truth that he had been called to duty by his country and no amount of displeasure, fear, arguing or crying could dissuade him. My husband exemplifies a profound sense of purpose beyond that of his peers. It's summed up in The Infantry Man's Creed: Never will I fail my country's trust. Always will I fight on through the foe, to the objective, to triumph over all. If necessary I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage I have won 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds. For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. Taken from "The Infantry Man's Creed" The short notice stunned me. I felt weak in the knees and angry at the Army for a moment. But in mere seconds, my husband's sense of purpose infused me with courage in my own right. A man's purpose gives him the power to do thatto lead his family fearlessly and to instill in them a courage not based on circumstances but founded in a confident heart surrendered to God's calling and convinced of God's goodness. The Bible speaks of purpose. This is not merely a man's feeble attempt to lend significance to his own life. Psalm 20:4 says, "May he grant you your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans!" And Psalm 90:17 says, "Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,and establish the work of our hands upon us;yes, establish the work of our hands!" The Heavenly Father places in each man a heart desire, an intense yearning to establish a legacy. His word encourages this and invites men into relationship with God through Jesus so that their lives may be truly influential. Every man longs to discover his own manpower, to live with purpose and passion and experience fulfillment. God's Word will lead every man who seeks the Lord to develop these qualities in his own life.

THE OLD TIMERS' ROCKING CHAIR by Rachel Jamerson 8/10/2016 / Family
Vickie sat quietly on the porch rocking back and forth in her chair. She hadn't bothered to change her clothes. It was still early and anyway she really didn't care what she looked like. The silence was broken only by the creaking of the old rocking chair. In the distance, she could see the morning sun just peeking over the trees. A light breeze created a small tornado from the red, gold and amber leaves floating gently to the ground. It was September and time for the kids to go back to school. It had been many years since her children were small. She missed that time. Now it seemed almost like a dream. The kids grew up left home and now were busy with their own families. They didn't come around much anymore. Vickie ran her fingers across the arm of her rocking chair. The golden oak finish was still smooth to the touch. The arms were wide and lower than most chairs. This made it much more comfortable for her. The back was high made from individual slats as was the seat. Every piece was handmade and carefully fitted together. She called it the Old Timers Rocking Chair. A slight smile curled the corners of her mouth as she remembered when she got the chair. Hunting in an unfamiliar forest, her husband stumbled upon an abandoned house. The owners apparently had been gone for a very long time. The trees grew so close the house was almost hidden from view. The boards were weathered and decaying. Around the edge of the roof, he could see a wide molding with an intricate design. It was beautiful, but now some of the pieces were missing and those still there were covered with mold. On the front of the house were the remains of what no doubt used to be a beautiful porch. He made his way through the undergrowth for a closer look. Being a talented woodworker he was always looking for new ideas. Then he saw it an old rocking chair sitting up close to the house. The side turned to the elements was gone, decayed and without enough left to see the design. However, the other side, protected from the weather, was still solid. Climbing up on the porch he carefully examined each piece. Realizing this was a unique design; he gathered up the pieces and took them back to his shop. It was there he created a pattern and made Vickie's chair. Vickie leaned back in her chair. The view was strikingly beautiful. Her husband had built the house a half mile off the main road in a dense forest. There were no outside sounds or buildings to mar the beauty and tranquility of this place. Vickie continued to rock back and forth in her chair. Closing her eyes she remembered many years of life as a family here. John died about two years ago. Since then it had been a very lonely place. Vickie smiled as she remembered her journals. She wanted her children and grandchildren to remember this place when she was gone. Over the years Vickie had taken pen and paper and meticulously recorded their lives together. The car slowed to a stop and the children began to pile out. "What is Mama doing on the porch this time of night?" It was Sandra Vickie's oldest daughter. They had been out shopping and thought they would stop by for just a few minutes. Turning back to retrieve her purse she mumbled: "It's cold out here, she'll be sick again."

Rejected but Not Forsaken by Tesh Njokanma 11/30/2016 / Dating
REJECTION! That's a strong word. A really strong word. A word that makes you feel like someone has put a label with the word worthless on you or there's a big wall beside you that keeps excluding you from some good and important things of life. The sharp pain rejection puts in the heart makes you wish you could turn back the hands of time. You wish you never laid eyes on the person that has inflicted this pain on you. You wish you never got involved, never opened up your heart and feelings to this person. Whether the rejection came just as you started having such strong and deep feelings for the person or it came after you told your friends and family that you had finally found the man or woman of your dreams, or it even came on your wedding day when you were left standing alone at the altar, it's painfulvery painful to be rejected, especially by someone you love or care about. You feel like your heart has been ripped out or cut into a hundred different pieces. There was a time in my life I experienced this heart piercing pain. No part of your body aches, but you are in pain. It's not a pain that any doctor or drug can take away. It's not one of those pains that crying can make you feel better or get it off your chest. It's a pain that only God can reach deep into your heart to heal. And when He steps in to heal, believe me, you will wonder why you were so upset and discouraged in the first place. You will feel very foolish for ever pinning away over what that person said or did to you because when God binds up the broken hearted (Psalm 147:3), He opens your eyes to see that the failed relationship which you thought was the end of your world, was the beginning of something great in your life. He helps you see that it wasn't a person that walked out of your life but a problem you don't have the capacity to handle that just left you. There isn't a year that goes by that one, two, ten, a hundred, or even a thousand people aren't heartbroken, disappointed and rejected. You may be reading this today and that's exactly where you are right now. You actually thought this year would put an end to your spinster or bachelor days and translate you to the domain of the married. But here you are heartbroken and devastated because someone you were considering spending the rest of your life with, has trampled on your heart and feelings. What aggravates the pain is the fact that the person didn't even have the decency to talk things over with you; he or she just left you a note or sent you a text to end the relationship. TO BE CONTUNIE
How to be More Contented by stephanie reck I always had in mind what I believed would bring me contentment, house with a white-picket fence and 2.5 children. God however had other plans for me than my picture-perfect idea of what I thought satisfaction was. I struggled for years accepting that my life had turned out differently than I had hoped. I lost my contentment by focusing on all my desires that were unfulfilled. Not that I speak in regard to need, for I learned in whatever state I am, to be content. I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Philippians 4:11-12 I have learned that contentment is accepting God's control over all my circumstances. Most of us are content when our circumstances are going well, but God wants us to have contentment in all things and in all seasons in our lives. Be joy-filled today, not when your circumstances will be perfect or you have everything that you want. Enjoy your life right now. Surrender all to God and release all control to Him. Do not dwell, ponder, wish or wonder when, why, or how come things have happened or nor happened. Contentment is satisfaction with God's sufficient provision. Satisfied. Not needing anything else. Contentment means not wanting more than what God has given you. Stop and ask yourself how content you are really? Do you wish you had a different family, a spouse, a child, more money, or a different home? I am not saying never desire or want anything, but when that thing you desire becomes an idol (putting anything above God) than you are risking not living content. Not being content will make you a miserable person. Instead of talking about how big your problems are, start thanking and praising God instead, it will confuse the enemy! Try not to complain about your life's circumstances and instead have a thankful and appreciative heart. It will do wonders for you to keep an attitude of gratitude. Change your perspective! How do you handle life's problems? Talk non-stop about them, complain, worry, become stressed or anxious or do you thank God that He will cause good to come from your troubles (Romans 8:28). One of the biggest lies of the enemy is that God is a cosmic vending machine, and He is supposed to be my self-help genie. 7 practical steps to gaining contentment: 1. Ask God to forgive you for wanting anything more than Him. 2. Surrender ALL your desires and wants to God. 3. Take it one day at a time. Try not saying, "Things will ALWAYS be this way." 4. Be thankful for what you do have. 5. Believe God is in control and He knows what is best for your life. 6. Do not compare your life with anyone else's. 7. Don't complain about anything, the weather, your job, or what you are lacking. The enemy will keep you focused on what you do not have, but that is a tactic of the enemy to keep you discontent. Contentment comes when we want God more than anything else. We can complain that rose bushes have thorns, or we can rejoice that thorn bushes have roses. Abraham Lincoln. What has you discontent with life, and what practical steps can you take today to gain contentment?
FOOD AND GOD'S LAW FOR HEALTHY LIVING by ralph jackson 6/04/2017 / Health Although I am in no way a qualified Health Practitioner, I believe that God, through the Holy Spirit has given me an insight, through study to have a better understanding of His health laws today, than I did several years ago. I also believe that he directed my daughter Danielle into the field of health and fitness to help my wife and myself look at our ‘holistic health’ and pass on what we have learned. Messengers We are just messengers. Ironically before my daughter was born, I was studying the books of ‘Daniel’ and final book of the Bible – ‘The Revelation’. As some of you may know from your bible studies, Daniel, after he and his contemporaries, where taken prisoner by Nebuchadnezzar to Babylon, was concerned about the food presented to him from the kings table. In Daniel Chapter 1.8. He requested the chief of the King’s eunuchs to give him 10 days to prove that he would still be healthy without eating the King’s food. Here was a man who knew God’s health laws. He and his companions ate vegetables and pulses (edible seeds such as lentils and chickpeas) and drank only water, As a consequence of their vegetarian diet, they were seen to be healthier in their appearance than those who had eaten at the King’s table. Food for Health So food plays a great part in how healthy we are! That old saying: “We are what we eat” is quite true. In Genesis 3.1-6, Adam and Eve were tempted by the devil in the Garden of Eden. God had given them every fruit in the garden so there was plenty of good food to eat, however, a restriction was placed on one particular tree - the tree of the ‘Knowledge of Good and Evil’. I don’t believe there were any magical properties in the fruit of this tree. It was just an ordinary tree, no different from the other trees in the garden. Its fruit may have looked different to the eye, so Eve would have been curious as to why God told them not to eat from it? God was specific, so Adam and Eve were left in no doubt that they could not eat from this tree or they would die. I’m sure God would have explained to them what death was and that is probably why, after they had eaten of the forbidden fruit, they were terrified. They believed God would carry out His word and put them to death. Their trust in God’s benevolence was soon forgotten. They had walked and talked with Him under the warmth of the Sun in the garden, and now the one they called Father had become, because of their guilt, an enemy to be feared. Had Eve not left her husbands side and wandered towards the forbidden tree, Satan could not have worked his charm on her. TO BE CONTINUE
Meeting the Need
The Missing Piece: Community by Cate Russell-Cole 11/02/2015 / Church Life
When I read about Jesus, I see a radical man who often acted in manner which offended people, and whose actions were profoundly distinctive and different from the status quo. I do not read of Him hesitating or coming into line with what public niceties expected of Him. He saw a need, and He fulfilled it without caring who would be shocked and what accusations would be bought against Him. His love for the people was greater. Recently I was saddened at an example of the church being held captive by the way the world thinks. A pastor when driving home at eleven at night, saw a very drunk girl weaving her way down the footpath on the highway. His instincts were to help her, but he was unable. Had he of tried to get the girl into his car to take her to safety, being alone his actions could have easily been misconstrued and he would be falsely accused if not fined for rape or abduction. His reputation and the reputation and well being of the church was at stake. Where have we come to? We've learnt to think like the world, rather than be transformed by the renewing of our minds. 1 In common terms, we're true "westerners." Even the white, English speaking masses, like the Asian and African cultures, have been continually persuaded and brainwashed by mass media, materialism and greed into being more "westernised." Our self value has been stripped away as our base in Christian values and belief and the sanctity of love, and family life have been all but demolished by Hollywood images and promises, the realities of work, mortgages and the relentless pursuit of happiness. The church's thought, also bombarded by these influences, has also become tainted and warped away from the original truths it was to live from. We are no longer aliens in a land that is not home, 2 with a different culture and separate standards, we easily fall into the world's trap, and live with all the expectations, demands and trappings. We're programmed to "us." We fulfil our own need for significance and meaningful achievement, leaving the lost, the lonely, and less lovely outside our clique of friends and colleagues as we strive to attain our own goals and needs. How often do we ring up that person who was crying during the service, or who we know is having a hard time? Then, we must have time for us, so instead of attending a prayer meeting or home group, we "veg out" in front of the television, and lose contact with others, and even our families. "At home, family members are in their own "Techno-Cocoons," each hooked up to a different techno-gadget." The authors urge families to "avoid this isolating trend of the nineties, and healthy communication alive." 3 Where have we gone? TO BE CONTUNIE
