A school for preparation is the field of education. Experts in their field, the various professors give the fundamentals of teaching. The rest is up to the individual to learn and pass on freedom of ideas and ideals in education to form the foundation of liberty.
In co-operation with the School City of Bloomington, the education majors have a chance for practical experience. Fourteen hundred students begin in elementary courses, build up to the specific aspects of the profession, and leave school. These are the future teachers of our nation.

To Learn to Teach
The requirements for a degree in Education include student teaching. This presents valuable experience that can not be derived from the normal classroom in college,

The refreshment concessions provide an excellent location for a break between library sessions.
The School of Education presents a wide study of modern education. This presentation is applicable to the phases of the profession. Courses in child psychology, modern methods of teaching, reading and study, and many others may be applied to the teacher's work. The Education building contains excellent facilities for study. A new building on campus, it houses the education administrators, classrooms, and laboratories. The building stands as a model for superb education in the American school system.

Pi Lambda Theta
Pi Lambda Theta is a national honorary fraternity for women in the field of education. The goals of the organization are threefold. The organization encourages the maintenance of high academic standards of women; it maintains the high ethical goals of education; it advises the community on the developments which are constantly taking place in this field.
Throughout the year, Pi Lambda Theta sponsors speakers on subjects related to educational methods and objectives. The Iota chapter of Indiana, in co-operation with the national fraternity, contributes to its programs. To become a member, a candidate must maintain a 2.0 average and receive a recommendation from an active member.
