DOMUMO
Domumo derives from the Latin language and it stands for home. A home should make you feel secure and comfortable but it wouldnĂĽt be your own home if it didnĂĽt make you comfortable. By utilising the concept of hard and soft flexibility, this project will allow the residents to mix with the community but to also benefit of a private space which they can change to make their self-more comfortable. The project focuses on building a residential& communal space for exmilitary people who are displaced and no longer have a home to go to.

Formby Point
In our modern day we are looking to speed up our daily tasks. For my final year project, I had to chose a site based on my own memory and exploration of slowness. I chose Formby because the idea of escaping into nature from the urban environment is something that I have always remembered as being a slow paced experience. Based on my analysis of Formby, the programme will primarily consist of a workshop and gallery space on the sand.

PROJECT INSPIRATION
The design idea is primarily based on the Tetris Effect. Professor Richard Haier from the California Medicine School demonstrated game’s surreal feature to reflect into real life. As you close the game Tetris, the mind continues to play the game. For instance, when shopping for grocery person can find themselves rearranging items on the shelves. Haier also proved that the game Tetris can help to increase brain size and plasticity, therefore a person can relate ideas more efficient and easy. As the project is focusing on the Literature Collective, the Tetris effect and it’s Design Reflections can contribute their writing process and provoke them to creative and complex thinking.

The Sacred and the Profane
This project was inspired by metal and pattern, in particular, Tungsten. Tungsten
has strong links with artificial lighting
which lead the project to focus on the play
of natural light and artificial light. I also
looked at the pattern of people who would be in spaces where artificial and natural daylight were present. From this, I decided
the best place to play with artificial lighting was a night club.

The Factory of Pollination
The Factory of Pollination is set in the not so distant future, a future where the honeybee no longer exists in our cities. Our swollen concrete metropolises have banished the bee, with giant monuments inhabited by humans, bringing shade upon the poured tarmacked roads, streams of paved walkways, sandwiched between concrete bridges and the underground metro that disembowels the city.

Hollow Mountain
Snowdons Mountains and Coast are
undoubtedly one of the most stunning natural habitats in the world, but man and his activities have also changed and
shaped the landscape and left an indelible
mark on the coast and mountains. This offers us a valuable glimpse of how people lived and used the land over the centuries.
Whilst farming still remains one of the
most important industries of the area, the slate, copper and gold industries have all played an important role in the history and
culture of the region and their influence can still be seen and today felt.

Blurline- The Natural History Museum North
Blurline is a natural history museum project located in a derelict urban green space sitting on the edge of Manchester, Salford and Trafford. I wanted to reconnect the green space to the people by showing how an eco-friendly building can co-exist in harmony with a micro-ecosystem and educate them the importance of urban green space and biodiversity conservation, setting up an example for a future where nature can co-exist with humans even in urban contexts.

Located overlooking the River Mersey at Waterloo Dock, the proposal for the Natural History Museum North is to represent the anthropogenic impact humankind has had upon the natural world. Positioned in an area synonymous with industrialisation, the Natural History Museum North presents an alternative to traditional exhibitions, focusing specifically on the preservation and conservation of the environment. The notion of strata ultimately influenced the design of the structure, whilst the layered formation of stratigraphy is prevalent in the exhbits within.

The theme of my project aims to explore the relationship between humans and nature. It’s about taking a step back and re-appreciating the beauty of nature. There are many ways in which was can begin to reconsider out relationship with nature, but all of which requires an effort. One way is by educating people about the environment, evolution and ecology. This will help encourage people everywhere to consider themselves as part of a larger picture and to form new ideas and opinions of the world and to understand their place within it.

A house will provide permanent and temporary way of living but also cohousing which will bring individuals and families together while also enjoying their self-contained personal space. An extension deck connected to the houses will be co-shared which aims to create good pleasantries between neighbours. Rethinking The Factory: In The Loop
The Rail network worldwide is well established, yet has had little improvement over the years in terms of speed. Current rail transportation is expensive, requires a lot of energy and has unreliable infrastructure. The solution? The Hyperloop. Originally, a concept of high speed travel where a pod will travel in a vacuumed tube at speeds of 760mph. As this concept becomes reality, there is a need for facilities to production and testing. Edge Hill Train station provides the perfect location for the next step in rail advancement as it housed the world’s first passenger train line in the world.
