BA(Hons) Architecture 2024

Liverpool school of art and design

me

I am a 21-year-old Architecture Graduate student that has a passion of architecture that stemmed from much time being spent in the city centre of Liverpool. As I grew up, I began to learn about architecture through books like ‘Atmospheres’ and ‘Tado Ando: Complete works’, this inspired me to fully commit to the subject. Throughout university I have always viewed architecture through a lens of structural integrity, but I developed a clear understanding and passion for the emotive side of architecture and how it can connect people to design.

01 | Urban Nexus : A Tri-Dimensional Connectivity

‘Urban Nexus’ emerges as a testament to a redefined urban experience, an emotive journey involving senses, emotions and memories. Primarily, the project defines an arrival (end point) of the public promenade along the waterfront. The nexus includes a public part that benefits of the views and ends with the water experience, from water sports, pools and spa. The spatial experience transcends the conventional sport centre, weaving together the threads of sunken walkways, elevated viewpoints, and the programmes integral to the building along the X-Y-Z axis.

02 | Catharsis - Purgation of the emotions

The projects brief was to tackle climate change in an innovative way. Rather than just physically fighting the impact of climate change through choice of material and construction, the emotional narrative to make people more aware of the climate was a driving factor in the project. People interact with architecture daily, so the experience the porject would provide for users was fundimental.

The circulation and spatial experience through the architecture shows the hope in which we have for the prevention of climate change by using light as a metaphor.
