SIXTHFORM PLACEMENT

LUX INTERIOR, MACCLESFIELD

During the time I studied at sixthform, I undertook a two week placement at Lux Inteiors, focusing on Interior Design. This furthered my exsisitng knowledge and allowed me to visit clients houses and help on different jobs with the interior designers. From having this experience, I gained valuable skills and a wider understanding of a working day of a designer.

THE GROUND FLOOR CONSISTS OF TWO SIDES OF THE BUILDNG; THE LEFT SIDE BEING A SPEAKEASY BAR AND RESTAURANT. WHEREAS THE RIGHT SIDE, BEING THE MAIN BAR AND RESTAURANT. THIS ALLOWS FOR THE DIVIDE IN CLIENTELLE THAT WILL BE VISITING THE HOTEL. THE LEFT SIDE HAS A CONCEPT BASED ON THE ‘SUPER RICH’ WHO WANT TO BE NON PUBLIC. THE MAIN BAR ON THR RIGHT IS FOR CELEBRITIES THAT WILL INITIALLY RENT MAJOIRTY OF THE HOTEL FOR THEIR STAY. THE FRONT OF THE BUIDLING COMPRISES OF FACILITIES IN WHICH ENABLES SOMEONE TO REACH ALL THE FLOORS AND THE TWO RECEPTIONS, ONE BEING FOR THE SPEAKEASY AND ONE BEING FOR THE MAIN BAR SPACE. THE BACK OF THE BUILDING CONSISTS OF FACILITIES TO ACCESS ALL FLOORS OF THE BUILDING, THE KICTHEN AND TOILETS. THE DELIVERIES CAN BE BROUGHT THROUGH ENTRANCE IN THE TOP RIGHT OF THE PLAN, INTO THE KITCHEN AND STOCK ROOMS.
