Due to the propsal location, using material such as fired bricks, bamboo and rammed earth all seemed apparent as popular building material along with the client expressing the need for an exterior swimming pool. From this research along with client comments in meeting, we were able to direct some basic sketch design for the client. The use of earth steeped walls to direct the wind over the building and protect from the livestock with bamboo roof structure.

M Arch Year -2 Semester -2 - Urban project Re-stitch Re-connect Re-imagine
RESTITCH Bir kenhead has the opper tunities to become a wellconnec ted, engaging cit y for all. However to achieve this it needs to reconnec t with its residents, its visitors, its commuters and most impor tantly to itself. RECONNECT Each year the Wir ral attrac ts a large number of c yclistsand walkers, mostly because of the spec tacular views and well connec ted c ycle paths and walk ing routes. B y creating a cit y centre that caters for c yclists and pedestr ians, Bir kenhead is able to tap into these routes and become par t of the Jour ney. REIMAGINE Large green spaces opened up in Bir kenhead by declining industr ies provide opper tunities for other more sustainable ideas. Bir kenhead has the oppor tunit y to create its own power and become self-sustaining. New building projec ts can become more environmentally aware allowing for a greener, cleaner and sustainable Bir kenhead to be created. CONCEPTUAL THINKING Through the first part of the analysis it was found that throughout its history Birkenhead was always a well connected city to both itself and its neighbours. However through economic decline and failed regeneration projects it appears that Birknehead has lost its sense of connectivity to itself. This is not to say, however, that there is no room for development as through analysis and research it has been found that there is potential for Birknehead to become connected again. It was found that the city currently has a strong east and west connectivity however it lacks the vital north and south connection that sees Birkenhead city centre connected to the new Wirral Waters project at the north of the site. By analysing Birkenheads history we were able to identify a disused, old railway network line that runs right from the south part of the site (By the market place) right up to the new Wirral Waters development project and defined that this would be a potential site for an Urban regeneration project. It would reconnect the North and South of Birkenhead while also feeding into the already strong East and West connection. It has an oppertunity to become the spine of Birkenhead serving as a new connection route to new centres and developments in the surrounding area. 16 Rakshak kesarker 2020 Portfolio

M Arch Year -1 Semester -2 - housing project Dingle
Project Introduction The Project is to design an spatial contextual responsive housing unit and the dwelling is to be design i such a way where it should be liveable simple and quality design in the proposed urban housing. The major setbacks what we are facing is covid-19. During lockdown people spend lot of time indoor and their prespective of housing sectors have changed and many have moved away from the city to find more peacful and ventilated designed places ratehr than the compact city scape. In order to avoid people migrating and provinding a better suitable dwelling the hosuing scheme proposed would be help them to live in a better way. The site is located in toxteteth Dingle where it has a asthonishing view towards Mersey river mjority of the space is been surrounded by residential neighborhoods. There are exisiting housing unit on the proposed site but are quite distored from the surrounding place because of topography condition having sudden down fall in the site which leads to site not well connected to its contexts. Furthermore proposing a site by having a gradual slope from the top of the Grafton street to the bottom which elevates the housing units by having sutiable position which creats maximum view towards the mersey.

M Arch Year -1 Semester -2 - Desertation POST PANDEMIC ARCHITECTURE A new interpretation of living
Post pandemic architecture where thinking of designing a space after the impact of covid-19. We all know we are not going back to the original state like how we lived before people have understood the importance of spatial arrangement and interaction with the nature and surrounding space. It’s my personal experience where I have been isolated in Liverpool for 14 days when I landed due to the rules which I had to follow. During my stay it felt like a prison being captive between four walls with no actual connection and communication with surrounding space it was miserable and which affected my mental health too the way things were going on I understood how important green space and public spaces are and how well each space should be designed. And by this it made me connect well to my dissertation topic and wanted to learn and research how well can we redesign and rethink about the present This situation what we are living won’t be for few months and due to which our work life have also been shifted within four walls of house with our day-to-day activities and balancing work life too has been difficult if the design is poor which will directly impact our mental health status and even considering public spaces too on how well it can utilized even in this pandemic situation as the virus spread more where there are crowd gathering and interaction is main in public spaces and its normal to expect crowd and this would be challenging on how design should be developed We all known 2meters social distancing won’t be our future and it can’t be implemented to our life style cause on a smaller scale it may work but in public spaces it would be difficult to follow by its own means. If we have a proper air circulation and well utilize natural elements between building and inside too it would eventually brighten up the space and provide positive impact of individual lives. On understanding the problems and thinking about the solutionfuctional city, sustainable city and biophilic (nature) could be a perfect fit for the situation we are in, by implementing the green space around and inside the built space would help to interact with spaces with are implanted with these aspects which improve mental health conditions of individual. 2020 Portfolio First Name Surname

History of pandemic have always made planers to rethink on how to shape the cities. Which have been reflected on architecture and urban planning. Today the world has been facing the worst in more than century, COVID-19 has impacted and changed the lives of millions around
These inequality case should be quickly resolved to upgrade human and social space that directly affect the public health in which open space and uses of natural elements and orientation of the design would bring a good neighborhood rather than having a contaminated space in urban life.
Access to outdoor parks and green area are quite essential to improve physical, psychological and mental health its quite challenging during covid-19 terms of usage of outdoor spaces. It is clear that after the crisis we won’t go back how life was before covid-19 but instead it has made to change our perspective views towards life and lifestyle in city of each individual who are looking for a new beginning.

And green space being a major aspect to all the situation and its importance being clearly visible now. Being with climate change and it would also act a major part with solving the pandemic situation. And housing design would definitely change and people have a different perspective on their lifestyle as work have being shifted to homes and things have being difficult to balance if the design is poor it would definitely effect their mental state so orientations and designing each aspects would be important now

With experience nature consists of three basic categories in biophilic design which include direct experience of nature, indirect experience of nature and experience of space and place. •Mainly reduces stress and anxiety. •Enhanced physical health. •Helps to provide emotional energy. •Sense of being more connected. •Eliminates pollution and maintain clean environment. •Improves the creativity and productivity in a person. •Connected to nature even though sitting in a building. •More sustainable approach.
