The primary objective of this project is to re-establish a profound connection between individuals and their natural origins by implementing a sequential plan. The aim is to foster social interaction and establish a seamless connection between the public promenade (the city) and the waterfront experience (the docks). By establishing the first part of the building as the public ‘terminus’ of the promenade and the lower level as the main pool, the project contains two interconnected public grounds; a solid one (the square) and a liquid one (the pool). The pods are inspired from stalactites and stalagmites and contain the water themed activities. Beyond its programmatic intent, the project becomes therefore an extension of the city, encouraging people to reconnect with the natural environment, promoting wellbeing as well as a sense of belonging within the urban landscape.
