COMPREHENSIVE DESIGN PROJECT. BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS OF METHOD ACTING: LIVERPOOL JOHN MOORES PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE. IN A SOCIETY WITH HIGH EXPECTATIONS OF REALISM IN ENTERTAINMENT, CAN ARCHITECTURE AID WITH MENTAL WELL-BEING IN PERFORMERS? METHOD ACTING.
Konstantin Stanislavsky’s ‘Psychological Realism’. Teaching ‘Emotional memory’. Compartmentalizing their own feelings while playing another character.
Could architecture, through design, allow acting students to compartmentalize their different emotions through journeying through various spaces that ”push and pull” these emotions in different ways? Figuratively, leaving a certain emotion within a certain space, allowing them to revisit.
