Techtonic & Environmental Design AS2 An environmental strategy for the building involving particular formal arrangements that aid environmental dynamics and that describe how the building is lit, heated and cooled, ventilated, and details given of any renewable energy systems. Demonstration of material selection. Description of expected environmental impact and performance in relation to embodied energy, reuse and recycling of materials, and maintenance of the fabric. Consider the structure, external surfaces and internal surfaces. A detailed structural formulation, clearly showing construction joints and statics of the structural form, as a three dimensional image or physical model. Key drawings and text, as well as relevant precedents could be used. Architecture Portfolio

AS1 Spatial Resolution 6122AR Weather Or Not Water design My concept is to design a system that turns flood water into something beautiful by alleviating the problem. The site I have chosen is at risk of flooding according to IPPC, in order to create a sustainable system I chose to retreat flood water and create a water integrated design. my design concept is an aim of sustainability and micro-climate. my design will include a duck pond, that will fluctuate in height in response to weather. Origination taking influence from the origination essay and my choice of weather phenomenon being water. i decided to design a sustainable system that retreats surrounding floor water and turns it into something beautiful by alleviating the problem. The site I have chosen faces risk of flooding. fn order to correspond with this I’ve designed the structure around the sites surrounding water . Architecture Portfolio

Through my site analysis I was able to identify the main roads surrounding my site location and which can be used to access site by car the closest.I also was able to gather the different building uses in order to understand local context, building shape and layout. Futhermore, I was able to locate public transport roots and transportation options around my chosen site. Architecture Portfolio

WATE R D E S I G N I wanted this section to illustrate my strategy to integrate my design into the surrounding water, being the River Mersey and the flat car park situated North of the site 5 metres above which will now be used as a reservoir for flood water. this water will run down the hill taking influence from the Italian Renaissance water gardens into my site where it’ll be used as a water feature. This module continues to place architecture in the broader contexts of the city. It will progress from, and evolve, the group Urban Strategy that was designed in the previous module.

I researched the history of gin and where and how it originated, from this i created a modern gin distiller. I wanted my distillery experience to be fun yet classy. When doing research and refining my ideas Tithebarn street felt very upper class and the majority of the buildings were well built thriving businesses which I wanted my distillery to correspond with. I also believe gin is seen as a luxury alcoholic beverage and has also become very popular in recent years and I want me distillery to exaggerate that. I’ve kept a large open circular opening in the middle of the first and second floor and large

My final idea was to create a modern seating area that incorporates thesurrounding woodland. My final idea uses the idea of large ‘booths’ which are elevated on pilotis as well as there being a netwrorked walkway elevated on pilotis for people to get from the top of the hill to the back of the booths as they are on a lower level. My design is based on light and the surrounding environment, as well as pilotis being a key design feature as they elevate sections of my design to allow landArchitecture Portfolio
