About me:
My name is Kerry Wheeler, I am 20. During term time I lived in Liverpool, Merseyside. I studied at Liverpool John Moores University and currently study BA (Hons) Architecture course, Due to graduate in July 2022. Architecture has been something i wanted to pursue since I was 9. I found architecture through TV programmes my family watched such as Grand designs, ever since then I have wanted to persue architecture. Throughout my childhood I lived in a small seaside town with not much modern architecture and had not really visted anywhere until late in life. The first building that fasinated me was The winter gradens in Morecambe, Lancaster. This was due to it’s victorian detailing. As I explored more, the works of Le Corbusier and Mies Van Der Rohe made my intreseted in architecture more. Since studying architecture I have became inspired by designs by Zaha Hadid due to there opulence and modern aesthetic.

BA Year 3: Semester one: Weather or not:
The selection of images from the project are both design and technology. The building was design as a weather observation centre, that coincided with the proposed Fell Foot masterplan already in place for the site. The observation centre materials were rammed earth exterior walls, limecrete foundation and slate roof. The building was also a steel frame structutre. The enviromental stratergie of the design used mechnical ventilation, photovolatic roof panels, a rainwater collection system and underfloor infrared heating system. This page has exploded axonometric, section, floor plan, enviromental sections both summer and winte, elevations and a few interior persepectives.

Kerry Wheeler 2022 Portfolio
This is the temporary Literature pavilion that was design for the WOWfest. The site was on Bold street, Liverpool. The concept of the design is inpermanence. The building was designed to be temporary so the materials used; CLT, timber and glass, can all be re-used after. These are sustainable materials aswell as reuseable. Their is construction details showing how the structure is formed and structural model. The design was with a courtyard down the centre due to this being a courtyard before, in the design I did not want to remove outdoor spaces (Terrace) and access to the street behind. This shows elevation, floor plans, interior and exterior persepectives, structure model, construction details, site plan and final model.

BA Year 2: Semseter one: Urban desgin project:
The urban design project was a group project. The site was the fabric district, Liverpool. Then we had to choose a section of the site to design in depth. The concept for the design was based around the area’s rich history with fabric. The group work was of the fabric district, that was behind a student accomdation and on a main road. The park and courtyard was what I choose to design in detail. The group project was adding a storey car park, two parks, shopping and resturants and educational facilities. The parks and part of the shopping district is the area I choose to design in detail. I re-designed the park and shopping area. The patterns is representing the history of the area through almsot like cutting shapes and patterns on materials. This street is Stafford street.

In this project the breif was to create a memorial folly. This was the first design project that was undertaken. The design was aiming to be a reflection of nature. Their was no set site, just needed to best reflect the design concept. The exterior facade of the design aimed to be modern in context to the surroundings but the interior to reflect the exterior site. The breif was to design this memorial folly but also require a film of the journey through the building to be shown. The film contained the context of the surrounding site then a journey through the building shown in the path of film figure.
