About me I graduated my BA(Hons) Architecture degree in 2021 and will be taking a year to travel and work a ski season before continuing my path through architecture. I enjoy the idea of ‘less is more’ as opposed to just less, believing there is a clear distinction between appropriate minimalism as opposed to just the lack of substance.

CDP - Making the City Work Again
The brief asked the question of how our city would adapt to remote working as a result of the pandemic. Whilst those with large houses have ample space to conduct both the work and living elements of their lives within one building form, most cannot, how can an architectural response improve our experience and potentially create a better work culture? My response was a coworking scheme that complemented nearby residential developments to act as a singular place for all kinds of productivity wtihin the Ten Streets and find a middle ground between the pressure of the company office and the solace of remote working.

Weather or Not
The brief was centered around the Festival Gardens area south of Liverpool City Centre. Once a landfill, attempting to transition into something more. What can we do to enhance the site whilst exploring the concept of weather. By envoking a response to the natural order we can enhance the natural order of the Festival Gardens.
My concept began with research around the Mersey Estuary and the potential to see change in our waters, just as we are trying to on the land. My suggestion is an ecological and hyrdological research centre intervening right at the mouth of the river. Here the potential for research and improvement is great, whilst acting in a transparent mannor to encourage engagement of the public.

Treehousing
The brief focused on two key words, ‘tree’ and ‘house’. Tree refers to timber as a construction materials. House refers to the need for new, fresh publicly owned council housing within the uk. We are asked to thoughtfully combine these two elements to create a sustainable timber structure communal housing proposal on a rundown carpark site within the city centre.
My proposal revolves around the idea of familial living within the fabric of a passive house, specifically on a larger scale than the single family home, which is no longer a sustainable way of living. At street level, the building is a benefit to the residents aswell as the general area although progressing into a private space for the residents above and providing a pocket space to live within.
