WELCOME

TO DONCASTER RACECOURSE

Good afternoon and welcome to Dinocaster Racecourse for our Lakeside Village Family Fun Day. We’d like to thank today’s sponsor Lakeside Village for their most generous and continued support. We now have eight races on the card, with the last race taking place at 17:42. Our raceday presenter Bobby Beevers and resident tipster Roger Hart will be in the Parade Ring at around 1pm to run through today’s runners and riders and hopefully pick you out some winners! Please ensure your child is wearing a wristband with their parent or guardian’s telephone number on in case they get lost. Wristbands are located in the main reception and at the Grandstand entrance. You can also collect your Dino Map from these locations to ensure you don’t miss any of the fantastic dinosaur appearances and shows throughout the day. We have Zeus the giant T Rex and a Triceratops on the Champagne Lawn; a Raptor and Spinosaurus on the Clocktower Lawn; in the Exhibition Hall throughout the day you can see Cory the Talking Corythosaurus, take part in a prehistoric dinosaur dig, visit the Hatchery and take part in the Ranger Training Camp. We are also pleased to welcome back our friends from Children’s Air Ambulance who have a Colouring Station in the Exhibition Hall. Plus, there’s fairground rides on the Family Lawn and the Clocktower Lawn, and a great value kids’ meal in the Food Court if the little ones get peckish. Then, on Saturday 30th July get ready to rock as we welcome Magic Queen to the stage after racing, at our Rock at the Races raceday. Magic Queen will re-enact the glorious days of legendary rock band Queen, including the glam of the ‘70s and the magic of the ‘80s. They are one of the most dynamic and exciting Queen Tribute Bands in Europe and are sure to get you up on the dancefloor! Our flagship fixture, the Cazoo St Leger Festival is just around the corner, taking place 7th – 10th September! The highlight of Doncaster’s social calendar, we welcome visitors from all over the country to Town Moor for this four-day festival including the World’s oldest Classic – the St Leger Stakes. Tickets for all our upcoming racedays, events and Live After Racing Music Nights are available now at www.doncaster-racecourse.co.uk. As always, our team here at Doncaster are committed to doing our very best to ensure you enjoy your day and we value any feedback you may have. We hope you have a ROAR-some day! Star Ratings Explained Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race. HHHHI Good chance of being placed. HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. HIIII Can be given little or no chance.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

You must be 18 or over to place a bet You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet If you cannot produce this your bet will not be accepted

LONGEST TRAVELLER: NOTEABLE trained by H Palmer, Malpas, 98 miles.

RACE SUMMARY

BICEP was just denied at Ripon last time and the third has boosted the form since, so he’s fancied to go one better at the likely expense of Raydoun, who has shaped quite nicely the last twice and has the benefit of an in-form apprentice taking over. Noteable is an interesting handicap debutante starting out for Hugo Palmer. 1-2-3: 1.BICEP (IRE) 2.RAYDOUN (IRE) 3.NOTEABLE (IRE) KEY colours
